A beautiful old building as a unique hotel
Reviewed By burngoldThis is not a normal hotel. As in there is no sign, no reception, no easy way of getting in. Nice car parking options which is a bonus. You need to ring the owner on the number on the door. In 5 mins she will be there. She doesn't speak English, but you can communicate with her. Don't be scared! The family are very friendly! Once in, the rooms are extremely clean, functional and nice. Breakfast is a help yourself of coffee, juice and croissants. But is perfectly edible. I enjoyed my three nights in Viana do Bolo.

Not only did it turn out to be quaint and comfortable, but we were treated to an unexpected culinary achievement by noted chef Carlos José. Fine dining and relaxing surroundings. Well worth coming back again and again.

An old rectory in a quiet and beautiful place. Organic meals are served. We like self-sufficience: vegetables, fruits, wine, chestnut, bread, jams, pork...and we love our work.
A rural paradise
Reviewed By LizA04Xurxo's home is the most beautiful place and he is a warm and helpful host. We loved the delicious organic fruit and vegetables from the garden and the wonderful home-made bread. We liked the sustainable ethos too. There are excellent walking and biking routes from the door; swimming and kayaking available in the river below; other good places to eat just up the road in Parada and wineries further afield if you want to visit. It was so peaceful, spotless and relaxing. We loved it!

Hidden gem, nice place to be

This lovely and well kept accommodation has everything you want: a big garden, a good breakfast, hospitality, good beds, a kitchen with a fridge and a salon, nice neighbourhood for short walks, interesting places to visit by car. Lovely couple that runs this place. Caroline speaks some English. They serve a la carte meals during lunch. We stayed for 2 nights, but I wished I should have stayed longer.

A nice moment while on the road

Boy was I glad to find this place!
Reviewed By Phil BHeading for halfway through my week-long thrash around northern Spain, the rain certainly didn’t stay on the plains! Foolishly I’d believed the weather forecast, & it hit me hard. I was saturated, literally, & only those of you who’ve been in this situation on a motorbike truly know how awful a plight it can be. I’d given up hope when I came across this hotel / restaurant. I was dripping, my leathers weighed twice what they usually do, my boots were squelching with every step, & yet I was welcomed as though I was wearing the latest fashions & not about to drip all over their furniture. My room was perfect for my needs, enough space to spread out all my sodden gear, & at my request they even switched the heating back on so I could dry everything out! They couldn’t have been more helpful. The restaurant was way better than I anticipated. Not that I thought it’d be bad, but it serves high quality food on a varied menu. Don’t be put off by the roadside location, my room overlooked the road & I heard no traffic noise all night. Brilliant.

Amazing stay
Reviewed By Aivi RVery nice and lovely stay with a very good breakfast. that includes some local specialties. Walls are not very soundproof though. They have some dogs and a cat living there which made the stay for us very pleasant as they are very friendly.
