Reviewed By M HLe Gambetta is an incredibly cozy, family-run hotel in Vias. It is definitely worth a visit, be it passing through or if you would just like to enjoy a couple of days in the sun and the relaxed atmosphere of Vias. The hotel is situated in the centre of town, 5 min taxi-ride from the airport (Beziers), with great restaurants and cafes close nearby. The stunning beach is 15 min walk away, but there is a shuttle-bus which will take you there at a very reasonable €1. The canals nearby provide great opportunities for walking or cycling trips (there are several bicycle-hire shops close nearby). Le Gambetta is nice and clean, offers various-sized rooms and a tasty French breakfast. Breakfast is served on the terrace (which is also very well suited for enjoying a glass of wine!). Last but not least, Le Gambetta's outstanding owners look after their guests in the absolutely best manner. Highly recommended!

Very welcoming place
Reviewed By KGyBudapestBeautiful place, but you really need a car to get there. It is localted in the vineyards. Sandrine, the owner is very welcoming, friendly and helpful. She serves breakfast every morning. Coffee, tea, croissant, baguette, jam, cornflakes. We booked a room for 3 adults, it was comfortable and spottlesly clean. The wifi worked properly. There is free parking place. The swimming-pool area is nice and very clean with deckchairs. It was a very relaxing stay.

It was nice that you had to park your car at the close car parks as no traffic past the mobile. Had a lovely chilled holiday . I would return here. It was also a lot cheaper than other sites we looked at

Reviewed By molffe767359Nice staff, breakfast was simple, but ok. The locati9n of the hotel was top! Restaurants nearby, sea nearby. The room was average, the bathroom was too smal and too grubby. For a short cheap stay with children it might be ok.

Reviewed By woody_clareThe good bits - good pool and sun area, friendly staff, can order breakfast and there is a pizza takeaway. Showers were good. Easy walking distance of Rocamadour. The not so good bits - the pitches are very open and not level, not much privacy. The site is not that well kept.

Reviewed By trauts56We are just back having had a fantastic week 3 Adults 1 teenager and 3 kids 6-10, the accommodation booked through Eurocamp was great (could do with a toaster though) but the oven has a grill, the Eurocamp reps John and Suzanne were very helpful and occasionally popped round to see if everything was ok, the site is very well laid out, small and safe with a playpark the kids liked, minigolf, petanque and tennis courts. The pool area was fantastic with 3 pools, main pool with slide, kiddies pool and covered pool, plenty of sunbeds (and you cant book them with towels, when you leave the area for lunch or anything else you need to take everything with you) There is a small cantina for snacks and a main restaurant for evening meals if you wish. if you want to explore outside, there is the canal du midi at the front door or hire a car to go further afield, especially if you want to shop at a larger supermarket either intermarche or Lidl. You can also hire bicycles nearby. All in all fantastic for families and I would not hesitate to book again.

Let me start with the good things first. - The receptionist was very friendly and took her time to explain evertything; - The house is tidy & neat, - It's a nice swimming pool for the children. Please accept a few points of improvements - As the main swimming pool has some slides and tubes meant for children, I think it is something to consider to have it heated. Children come out shivering.. You might suggest a swimming pool inside, but there are no big slides nor tubes, so that's not an argument. - I understand that people like going out and have a great time, but there are a lot of people with children that like to have a good night sleep as well. Noises after midnight are something to be taken care of. Honestly, it's hard to get a good night sleep with all the noises still after midnight. - When we arrived, it was quite late, I understand that all tables were booked, but there was not alternative suggested. I've worked in a restaurant too, client-oriented service is something highly appreciated. They could have suggest us coming back in xx hour or time. Or even suggesting a take-away. "No, we're full" was the only sentence we got. These improvements are really minor and could have a great impact on people who pay a lot for a house. I'm not sure I will be back, though it's a nice area.

A place in paradise!
Reviewed By Edwin LThis is our third visit to La Carabasse it is certainly won't be our last. We have been in the fortunate position of visiting during the busy Summer period and the much quieter period during September. Both are noticably different and will satisy different needs. This is an amazing venue, which is well managed by Siblu. Their first priority is clealry their guests, for which nothing is too much trouble. The vast majority of staff never fail to smile as they pass you, which adds the the friendliness of the venue. Ground staff are out working ealry in the morning sweeping the drives, and whilst the side roads are rustic they are safe and well managed. The swimming pool is the best in the area and spotless at all times. The entertainment is first class and bars and other venues are reasonably priced. There is such a lot to see outside the venue, be it the 'strip' where there are so many shops and places to eat and an amazing never ending beach with deep blue sea. The village of Vias is a short walk away, which is so welcoming. Led by Lisa in the owners' office, the team there are amazing and nothing is too much trouble. We will be back and highly recommend you seek this place in paradise out!

A place of contrasts!
Reviewed By BallylineArriving is a bit like driving into Blackpool. Restaurants and tat shops with quite a tight entrance if you have a big rig. Told to check for a pitch but found only electric pitches despite booking full service. After much debate I was offered a full service pitch at the back of the place (where all the service pitches are apparently) and it was fine, great water and drain connection. Level pitches, but dusty, and at this time of year only one toilet block open. Then came 'Le long weekend', twice in May, and suddenly it's packed and very noisy with loads of kids running around. The beach is an easy walk and lots of restaurants are open, even the pizza on site isn't bad although the large box makes you think it's a lot bigger than it is. One thing on the pitch to watch for after rain- loads of snails! At least 30 on our pitch alone! Reception was excellent too. My wife needed a dentist and the receptionist spent over an hour phoning around to find someone who would take us, very much appreciated. We stayed two weeks although one would have been enough. A very friendly, well run site.
