Reviewed By Gene PHotel is a little hidden in its location, but definitely stands out. Clean property, enough parking, decent sized lobby. Check in was handled by the staff very quickly and they had great attitudes. The entire hotel was clean throughout, The gym was nice, plenty of hot coffee if needed and the hotel is located near so many stores and restaurants. Big comfortable room, quiet, and great shower with good water pressure. Breakfast in the morning was very good with both hot and cold options and plenty of supply. The manager walked around during breakfast asking everyone if they needed anything and if they were happy with the hotel. I look forward to staying here on my next trip to town.

The room, because of its location in the hotel seemed larger than others I’ve been in. It did have a microwave and small refrigerator. Unfortunately, when I connected to the honors WiFi, I couldn’t get the login page to come up on my tablet, but it did on my phone. No idea why and in the grand scheme of things it didn’t really matter for one night. I was surprised by the gap between the floor and room door that was no less than 1/2”. It wouldn’t be difficult for someone to stick a small camera in the gap to eavesdrop, video, or take photos of those in the room. Breakfast was standard Hampton Inn fare; adequate but nothing special. The staff was friendly.

Reviewed By cjschillingHotel is showing it's age. Front desk staff was Ok. Room cleaning is not daily. Had to request soap and extra toiletries. Bathroom Dark. Only USB port was on the alarm. Breakfast was adequate. Nothing special to make this hotel your first choice, but also nothing to make you want to avoid at all cost.

The staff was very helpful and friendly. The breakfast needs some attention. There is not much choice of restaurants and food services in the area if you don't have access to your car. But it was a very pleasant and restful stay.

Reviewed By Cruiser245806Don't stay here if you have standards. They didn't explain anything to us when we checked in. I had to call for a quite a few things. The receptionist gave me a dirty look just for asking for clean towels & a few other things that should be given when housekeeping comes. Housekeeping doesn't come & change the sheets or clean the room until after you check out. Who thought of that? A room gets dirty when you don't have the equipment to clean it. Provide it if this is how it's gonna be from now on. There were no instructions on how to operate the TV and the washing machines. The pool was not clean at all. It had dead bugs & debri in it. It was practically begging to be cleaned but the staff here does the bare minimum. They do not take initiative at all. The Hyatt brand to me is about affordable luxury. This hotel is not that at all. The guests are an afterthought.

Two night stay
Reviewed By Julie HI stayed here for two nights to help move my daughter out of college and to go to the dentist. I lived in Ashburn for over 20 years so I know this area very well. It's very popular with flight crews as it is only a short drive from Dulles airport. We come through town often and I chose this hotel because they aren't charging for parking - I refuse to do that in a suburban setting. In a nutshell, this property needs a lot of TLC. In our first room, the handle literally fell off of the toilet. I went to the front desk and was asked if I broke it or if it was like that when we went into the room. We were moved to a new room across the hall. In the new room, the toilet ran all night because it needed a rebuild (not just the replacement flapper engineering put in the next day). One of our keys did not work to open the door and I was told that the issue was that the batteries needed to be replaced in the lock. It did not solve the problem and thankfully, the other key worked just fine. The front desk offered to move us again which I declined and told me to report the issues again in the morning. We didn't need or particuarly want them, but we were never offered the cookies that Doubletree is supposedly known for. I was handed a bag with water bottles for being a Diamond member but it was never mentioned. There were additional issues in the room. One was the shower. There used to be tubs which were removed. There are now glass shower doors. The piece that is supposed to not move, moves. This is a serious safety issue and needs to be addressed by re-installing the door. The headboard is covered in a fake leather/vinyl which is peeling. There are snags in the carpeting and you must wear socks or other footwear. Our white socks were covered in dirt after walking around the room. We experienced no noise whatsoever (except for from the toilet), despite being in the flight path for the airport. I thought the morning front desk staff were excellent both days I had interactions with them. Also, the breakfast/bar staff were super friendly and efficient. If it wasn't included, we would have skipped breakfast (we did skip the first morning) but felt it was good quality (although not worth $15 if you are paying out of pocket and not in a rush - do yourself a favor and it's a short drive to Famous Toastery). Given that there are many other properties in the area in better condition, I'll most likely choose to stay elsewhere on future trips. With some basic maintenance though, I would readily change that opinion.

Early Alarm Bells!

Our pilot was still in DC when we boarded our plane in NJ so we had to wait for his arrival! United gave us accommodation at this hotel, along with taxi and food vouchers. It was after midnight when we arrived and, as were not scheduled to fly until 10:30 p.m. the next day, we requested a late check out. We were told that they were fully booked and that it was not possible, check out was noon. The hall and elevator were grubby, as was the room. The carpets were stained as was the sofa which backed up to the coffee maker/counter.... looked like spillage from this area was a regular occurrence. A used cotton bud on the floor (between sofa and wall) as well as a damaged lamp shade was in keeping with the general state of the room. Thankfully, we carried a supply of disinfectant wipes to give the various surfaces a wipe before settling down for the night. At around 2:20 a.m. the fire alarm sounded and we were evacuated to the parking lot until the firemen arrived, checked out the building and declared it safe to re-enter. Our fellow guests included a number of children and teenagers who were now 'wired' and it took a while before hallway noise settled down. I went down for breakfast at 9:30 but everything had been cleared away. I was however directed to a nearby bakery, which was excellent. After we checked out we waited for the shuttle bus to the airport. I looked around the reception area and noted stained ceilings and the men's rest rooms were filthy. Deferred maintenance is one thing but filthy rooms and public areas are inexcusable. Our shuttle driver Tony was excellent. I hope the United Airlines hierarchy samples the hotels where they place their customers. If crew were placed in these accommodations it might explain why there is a pilot shortage!

Reviewed By mammamiller7I’d like to begin by letting you know the lady at the front desk that checked me in was very sweet, professional, and empathetic. Even though she had to deliver bad news to me, the sting wasn’t there because of how she treated me. I was so tired that it forgot to get her name. We book a room with two double beds because we are traveling with two children. When we checked in at 11:00 PM, after driving for seven hours, I was informed they sold out of all the room types I had already paid for. They gave us a king room with a couch. I let the gal know we had two children and she said she would give extra bedding. When we got to the room, which is quite nice, the couch wasn’t at all as one would expect. It’s three modular cubes. When I picked up the extra bedding, there was enough for only one child. Thankfully we had extra blankets and pillows in our car so we could make a padded area on the floor for child #2. When it was time to sleep we realized the curtain doesn’t close, so the room became quite bright earlier in the morning than we were needing, because there weren’t the type of curtains that completely cover the window. Our bathroom door will not stay closed because it doesn’t latch. The king size bed is nice and the bedding is very nice. The drawers are spacious. We have a refrigerator, keurig coffee maker, and a microwave oven. All work perfectly. There is a space to hang up clothes and a rack above to store luggage. In anticipation of hungry children, I pre-toasted bagels before leaving home and slightly warmed them in the microwave before spreading on the cream cheese. Happy belly’s. (I know, not a healthy breakfast, but it did the job.) we brought along Go-Go Squeeze fruit purées, Danimals drinkable yogurt, and fizzy waters for snacking. We are about to check out the pool, so right now I can’t comment on that.
