Reviewed By JanMatthiesenSecluded location and spacious facilities. Basic small rooms with veranda are equipped with the basics. Limited food offering is prepared to order and served hot. Flexi credit concept with cashless operation is brilliant. Avoid a room in the main building is you plan to survive a fire as housekeeping blocks fire escapes with laundry and trolleys.

Hotel Antica**** is a small boutique Hotel with only 8 rooms and spacious swimming pool that offer each guest a personalized holiday experience where every stay is unique. Located on the seafront in a natural setting surrounded by pine forest that allows our guests a perfect holiday offering a peaceful and serene stay. Only 15 minute beautiful seaside promenade walk to the city centre in Stari Grad bay and 200 meters from the main ferry port. Within Hotel there is Restaurant Argola with a beautiful sea-view terrace with beautiful sunrise and sunset where our signature rich breakfast and other meals is served. The restaurant offers wide variety of fish and meat specialities prepared by our skilled chef and an excellent selection of Croatian award winning red, white and sparkling wines.
My amazing 40th Birthday at Hotel Antica

We had already spent 3 days at Hotel Antica in August 2020 and having enjoyed our stay so much, we decided to book the whole hotel for 3 nights. We are so glad we did, Jelica and her team couldn’t do enough for us and ensured we were never without a drink. The hotel is so clean, tidy and stylish and nothing is too much. Jelica arranged our private boat transfer from Split Airport, our dinner on the Saturday night in Hvar Town and our dinner in Stari Grad on Sunday evening. We can’t thank her and her team enough and we will definitely be back again soon.

Reviewed By TravelswithMrHThe Hotel Villa Apalon is a wonderful little B and B style hotel on the edge of Stari Grad old town. It’s in an excellent location to walk to Stari Grad old town centre (2 mins) and the many harbour front restaurants and bars. The hotel is small but it is in a beautiful old building tastefully decorated and the rooms are HUGE! Great air con, comfortable beds and a shower to die for! The breakfast is probably the only slight thing that we found a little lacking but to be honest it was adequate with fruit, yoghurt and pastries - there were some cooked options, scrambled egg and avocado etc but they just weren’t really our taste. Special mention must go to their amazing staff who were so helpful and friendly making sure we had enough in the room, giving us advice for dinner and even giving us a lift when we need help to get to the ferry. The staff were faultless and a credit to the hotel. Please don’t be taken in by bigger hotels outside of Stari Grad (we nearly were) this place is a gem and deserves its ranking as number 1 place to stay in Stari Grad

Reviewed By Sailfast15Given that this property was recently built, everything is in impeccable shape and you can tell that a lot of care went into the planning for guests as they tried to think about everything. The idyllic location and layout of the resort allows one to really enjoy themselves. Being located a short bike ride away from charming Stari Grad and a 20 minute drive to Hvar, you have an ideal location for any desired activity. While the bike ride is not difficult, choose the e-bike option if available as you'll be happy to have a pedal assist after adventuring in town. Having visited the island before, I was initially unsure about the location (being away from Hvar) but would choose Maslina as home base for any return trip. While the location, property and natural beauty of the island were enough to make this a memorable trip, the staff made it an over the top experience. Many thanks to Julia, Sanja and the rest of the crew! The complimentary mini-fridge restocked daily, included breakfast buffet and hot options (yummy truffle eggs!) along with the other food and beverage we had during our stay was top notch! The fact that single-use toiletries were not used in the room along with other attempts at waste/resource reduction, where possible, were great efforts to see vs. other resorts typically. Garfield was a special surprise and we loved when he'd make an appearance!

Reviewed By VernLandThe apartment is located in the picturesque town of Stari Grad, only 2 minutes drive from the old town and around half an hour drive from Hvar town. The host is half Croatian half German and was very helpful in providing us with recommendation regarding good restaurants in Hvar as well as beach locations in the area. The apartment itself was modern, spacy and had everything we needed. It had a nice balcony with a nice (partial) view on the sea. From the second I entered the apartment I felt like being a home. I am coming back soon!

Reviewed By DafyddHJArrived by taxi from the port and honestly a little underwhelmed when we arrived, a set of stairs to access the accommodation above a supermarket... however, wow Anna greeted us and showed us to the apartment beautifully finished, plenty of room and a balcony looking over to the waterside. It’s the little details and quality of all the furnishings and stuff that make this place special. Being above the supermarket turned out to be fantastic and no problem at all as we had easy access to essentials, very quiet and a great kitchen to prepare food and the balcony to enjoy a beer. A special mention to Anna, unbelievably smiley and helpful ... made everything so easy for us from car hire to boat tickets. As for Stari Grad do not underestimate this place, lots to see and do and a wealth of nice places to eat.

Reviewed By B SApartment Ivankovic was a lovely surprise. Although it is about a fifteen minute bus/ taxi ride to hvar it is very close to starigrad. We were welcomed and fetched from the central bus station.( ps , if you need food for stay you can get it at a grocery shop right at bus station or you can check in and take a bicycle ride back for supplies). We were then settled in a spacious room. With all facilities meeting expectations. The hosts were homey and family orientated. The bonus is that you can use the bikes. We took our bikes to stari grad, and explored. Swimming in coves, ate at a local restaurant and visited the local market when self catering. Hvar was a bus ride away. We did our cave/island tour from hvar: there are local buses and taxis that run in between and bus station is right near ivankovic). The port ( Stari grad-not hvar and a Tommy hypermarket is not too far down the road ) . Stari grad itself is a quaint town, with vineyards and history. Nearby activities include relaxing on the swimming beach which is further on past the promenade ( to the right ), or you can take a bicycle ride to a quieter cove. There is also a tourist info office right near main bus stop/ and grocery store.

Al nostro arrivo siamo stati accolti da una coppia di signori che nonostante parlino solo tedesco o croato ci hanno chiaramente esposto tutto. L'appartamento è nuovissimo, pulitissimo e dotato di ogni comfort, inoltre 2 camere ognuna con bagno. Un grande open space con sala e cucina, dotata sia di lavastoviglie che di lavatrice e detersivo per entrambe. Bella sorpresa trovare la macchinetta del caffè già pronta all'uso e sul tavolo frutta e vino come benvenuto. Ciascuna stanza ha una propria regolazione per l'aria condizionata, che funziona perfettamente senza far rumore. A disposizione diversi asciugamani, compreso il telo per la piscina, phon e prodotti per il bagno. La casa ha solo 3 appartamenti per cui potreste avere la piscina ad uso privato fino alle 23. I letti sono grandi e comodi. Tante piccole attenzioni hanno reso il soggiorno, durato purtroppo solo 4 giorni, indimenticabile. E per questo ancora li ringraziamo

There are peacocks in hotel atrium, nice playroom for children, billiard, table tennis and football in reception, swimming pool and pool bar were fine. Also there were some animation program for kids. Food was ok. Pancakes were great :) seafood wasn’t tasty, risottos were over cooked and sometimes we need to wait to get salad bar refilled other was ok. Breakfast was fine. Dining room and terrace were spacious. Lunch time should be extended for at least half an hour and dinner should start at least half an hour earlier. Room had good air conditioning, large balcony, good curtains to make dark for afternoon sleep, beds were comfortable. Bathroom was clean but needs renovation, there were problems with warm water and pipes. Work was working in reception. There is also taxi boat which offers quick and cheap transfer from hotel to stari grad and backwards. With some minimal improvements especially in bathroom it would be perfect for that price.
