Overpriced for the quality of room and hotel

Some items to point out during my 2-night stay for their "Executive Twin Room": - There was a lot of gunk/mold on the shower area - On the first night, turned on the shower and the entire head fell off. Used the rainshower instead (it was already late and I was exhausted from the flight+heavy traffic and I didn't want to wait for staff to fix it. Also preferred to socially distance. Managed to reattach everything, but again fell off on the morning of my check out day - There was a hairdryer available, but the plug does not even match the socket next to the vanity mirror. The only choice is to use it by the window/work desk which is ridiculous - Television screen had a clear mark (see photo), I don't know if the previous occupant punched the TV for whatever reason - Television channel selections were pretty bad. Plus, channels kept freezing/screwing up due to the weak bandwidth - Pillows/pillow cases/blankets were clearly very old and definitely need to be changed Other items to point out: - The main entrance (Scout Castor) was closed and I can only enter from the back (Roces). Similarly, food deliveries can only be received at the back which was very inconvenient, especially with the difficulties with Grab drivers - Lobby Restaurant was closed and under construction, nothing mentioned on the website of any closed areas and was only informed on arrival - No luggage assistance provided, though not sure if this hotel provides it - Roofdeck just had some chairs and the tiny pool, not very encouraging to use at all compared to the website image - The hotel looks barely operational

Reviewed By carbp2022We have to come to the Manila area occasionally and always choose the Cocoon if our business is even reasonably close. We have been coming since 2014 and enjoyed another night recently. My wife and I asked each other why we enjoy the hotel so much even after being away for a few years? We decided that it doesn't feel like we are in a hotel, the atmosphere, the decor, the people working there make it feel like home. Super comfortable bed with lovely tasteful decor. Staff treats you like extended family members. There are more expensive hotels in the Manila area, I have stayed in a few. But there are none better than Cocoon in my not so humble opinion.

Reviewed By 714bdyI just had an enjoyable stay at the Red Planet Hotel on Timog Ave in QC. It is a budget hotel but the service and attitude of staff was great. I stayed at the Red Planet Hotel for almost a week during my recent visit to the Philippines. The rooms had a nice layout that made the most of the space. The staff were very kind and helpful including the security guards. The hotel's location on Timog Ave. was just walking distance to nearby restaurants, banks and convenient stores. I will be happy to recommend it and will stay again next time i go to the Philippines.

Cheap and Cheerful
Reviewed By kailuwowieMy A/C had issues and the technician cannot come until the day after, so I decided to look for a place to stay for 2 nights because my condo gets too hot due to its location - and with the recent Heat index, it's way hotter than it usually is. I initially thought of staying at Sogo, when I remembered that Red Planet is now open for staycation guests. I'd say this hotel gives the best bang for your buck. Decent rooms for a cheap price and an okay location near Araneta City (just cross the street). Aurora Blvd is usually a dodgy place, but this is on a different level and I felt very safe within their hotel and the general vicinity. I would definitely stay here again in the future.

Unexpected staycation?
Reviewed By Cecille JIt was a unexpected overnight stay coz there was no electricity in the condo. So we decided to check in at Richmonde Eastwood. Thank God there was rooms available. It was a fast smooth check in which was great. We immediately went to the rooms so we can rest after a long day. Room was ok. Nothing spectacular. All we need was a room to stay for the night anyway. During this pandemic, we need to be more careful, so sanitized the room before touching anything. After that I went to the room which I was kinda disappointed but staff was kind enough to change the shower heads coz the ones that I saw was dirty. That made me safe and happy. Thank you Richmonde for a good service.
