What we liked: the location of the hotel, walking distance from the village, the swimming pool and the view from our bedroom balcony What caused our disappointment : we didn’t feel welcome at all. Upon arriving we were not even explained the meal times, or told where the dining room was (quite basic usually), we mentioned that we had suitcases, no help was offered..this is basic politeness usually Dinner was served without checking if it was ok for us, no alternative anyway, you get what you get. I guess that if you really don’t want what is on the day menu you better say it upfront. Internet connection is iffy to non existent On the day we left, we were not asked if everything went well, or not told that they expect to see us again, hardly a thank you It was not the best experience for us and frankly I would not recommend this place to our friends or family, we felt it was the end of the season and they had ceased caring

Superb Hotel
Reviewed By T969UJpeterlWe had a fabulous time at Hotel L'Edelweiss. The facilities were top-notch, beds comfortable, and location close to the ski-lifts, ideal. The daily-changing menu in the restaurant was uniformly delicious, and the breakfast buffet richly varied. The cherry-on-top of the whole experience was the delightful staff who treated the six of us as their own family. A week skiing in Pralognan, overnighting at Hotel L'Edelweiss is what dream vacations are made of.....

Summer heaven in the Alps
Reviewed By JamesCollinsWorldWe booked here last minute on just a basic Google search looking for somewhere to stay in the French Alps for a week. We stumbled across a company called Madame Vacances and after deliberating on a few we book the Residence Les Jardines in Pralognan. Getting the negative out of the way we had expected to see someone when we arrived as the email confirmation states that you cannot arrive before 5pm and if later than 8pm to let them know. Also that when you arrive you can pay for linen. Upon arrival at 4pm (always good to be early) we found a note in French on reception explaining the basics of the stay and that reception wasn't open until Monday at 10am. No linen and towels then for the first night!! Not impressed after an 8 hour drive to get here. The next morning when reception opens at 10am I then managed to get linen and towels from reception, although if it was not for my broken french then we may not of had much. The apartment on the other hand is lovely, it has 2 bedrooms, one with an ensuite, a family bathroom, and a large kitchen/diner/living space and a balcony that overlooks the mountains. The kitchen has all the right amenities that enable you to cook for yourself. The location is in central Pralognan so not far for anything you may need and it's located in the same building as the cable car to the top of Mont Bochor which is a great place to start a hike into the Alps. The town itself is generally populated by French people, it is almost as if they want to keep this a little secret. One of the mountain guides assistants we spoke with was amazed how we found out it existed. Overall we were happy with our stay. The summer price was also a bonus, only £29 per night is good by anyone's standards, let alone a balcony with an amazing view of a mountain (and that in my opinion is better than a beach).

Nice family-run hotel
Reviewed By Steve HWe spent 2 nights at the Hotel de la Vanoise during a hiking trip in the Alps. Very nice place, run by a wonderful couple and their very friendly dog. Rooms are large. We had a king size bed plus a bunk bed in our room (just for the 2 of us). Had a nice sized walk-out balcony. Plenty of ventilation. Very nice breakfast buffet — nothing hot but plenty of choices. We also ate dinner at the hotel for both nights. One night we had a raclette and the next night we had a very nice salmon filet. We really enjoyed the hotel and loved hiking in the surrounding area.

Chalet Rum Doodle is a family run Bed and Breakfast situated in Pralognan la Vanoise. We offer you a warm welcome and very comfortable accommodation with optional evening meals. Breakfast is continental style. All meals are served and eaten with us in our family dining room. Accommodation is composed of 4 rooms each with its own bathroom and terrace or balcony. Two of the rooms are doubles and the other two are family rooms sleeping four people. There is a private lounge with wood burning stove.

Reviewed By P729BKdavidwStayed for 4 nights in this calm and friendly french ski resort. Chalet is clean and well appointed and hostess very welcoming. 5 mins walk to restaurants , bars , ski hire and lifts. Can highly recommend for couples or quiet families.

The UNIQUE INDOOR heated swimming pool is opened all season long.This small, family hotel managed by Isabelle, has just 14 rooms including eight family rooms (for up to 4 people) and one which is equipped for disabled guests.It is located at the edge of the forest, 5 minutes walk from the centre of the village and all the local amenities. For complete ease of access, a free shuttle bus runs between the hotel and the village centre.
Excellent stay and dinner
Reviewed By 747olganWe had already been in Épicea Lodge in 2019, and we came back this winter to enjoy the cozy rooms, great views and friendly workers in this great resort. Additionally, this time we enjoyed the dinner at the restaurant un Épicea Lodge. The chef makes amazing dishes, it was absolutely delicious! We will for sure repeat this experience again soon!

We were there with 5 adults and 6 children, and we really appreciated the hotel facilities (indoor and outdoor swimming pool, tennis court, jacuzzi, ...) during a more rainy day. Nice food at the end of the day, and a lovely bar to have a family gathering during the evening hours.

Excellent residence in the heart of beautiful mountains
Reviewed By Yuriy SI stayed with my family in this wonderful apartments for 5 days. It is new, very cosy, good location and beautiful view from each room. It is very easy to get to the ski slopes directly from the hotel. The city center is 7min walk. Special thanks to the manager Marion and receptionist Angelique who made our stay very pleasant and comfortable. Highly recommend these apartments to those who want to find tranquility and comfort in a beautiful mountains.
