On arrival after a long drive we weren’t asked how our journey was unlike other places we have visited on this vacation. Our last b&b stop was excellent and unfortunately this one was not as welcoming, our room was small we had no where to store our luggage and the wardrobe wasn’t big enough to use. In the morning when it came to getting a shower the last occupants soap and a clump of hair was on the soap dish in the shower. Then we went for breakfast to find most tables weren’t cleared away from the previous person and had to ask a member of staff to clear a table for us. Most of the staff we encountered didn’t seem very happy to be working there and there was no interaction at all. Several times when we went to get a coffee it was stone cold. On the plus side the cheese and wine in the afternoon was very nice. It states that hand sanitizer is available for all to use but we never saw any.

Additional fee added upon checkin

It's a lovely place and well appointed but upon arrival I was told there was an additional fee (resort fee? although there was no resort amenities...) There were empty cottages but I was given a room underneath an upstairs unit and it was noisy. The place is in a good location, just check the rates and the room first!

Great place to stay

Reviewed By Glenn G

This Inn was close to Old Fisherman's Warf. it is a very historical/old/vintage place. Beautifully furnished with gorgeous antiques. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was very good, literally served on a silver platter with a gorgeous view of the Bay while you eat. We stayed in the 'Monterey" room. it was lovely. The ONLY inconvenience was that the shower is in a corner of the room.....in a small closet type enclosure. I am 5'7" and weigh 180 pounds and I barely fit in the shower - not much room to turn around. HOWEVER, I am not mentioning that as a negative - just know that it is a tiny shower. We would ABSOLUTELY stay here again. It is just a great place to stay, there is absolutely NO negative about this place. I would gladly stay in the same room again. Parking is a little tight but we managed to always find a space to the side of the Inn. If you have to park on the street level there are some stairs to negotiate. Ask for a room on the first floor and try to park on the street level of the side entrance.....and ENJOY!

DON'T BE FOOLED BY THE PICTURES!!

POSITIVE: Clean and good location NEGATIVE: Tired and worn down property. Grounds were unkemp (rotted out fences, bags of garbage sitting out, walkways in need of sweeping, and more!), stains on carpet and comforter, walls and furniture scuffed/scratched and in need of paint, minimal room amenities. Pool/hot tub area was closed and we were not made aware before booking. Breakfast consisted of a small apple, apple juice and packaged muffin. All this is good and fine, if you are paying $150 a night for the room, but I paid $380 a night. Definitely a rip off. Don't waste your hard-earned money.

A nice hotel nestled in a quiet residential location . Apparently a converted condo. If you like peaceful location this works.you just can't walk to a restaurant or anything else. There is no elevator also. I can deal with driving to dinner. Elevator another story. There was a charging station fo our EV. But all in all a very nice little hotel.

Ants in the bathroom. Ants in the shower. Ants on my hairbrush and toothbrush. Ants on the toilet. Ants on my bed. Ants in my shoes. I don't know what else to say except please spray for ants. This is a beautiful place but expect ants in the rooms. Some rooms apparently more than others. If you are coming for a conference, note there are no irons or ironing boards in the rooms. Bring walking shoes and iron-free clothes. There are beautiful paths everywhere so enjoy the views and solitude.

Stayed overnight in Monterey

Reviewed By 476fayew

The property is in a very good location if you plan to visit the Lovers Point and the 17-mile drive. The neighborhood is quite and Peaceful; the staff were welcoming, friendly, and went extra mile to make sure their guests had everything they needed. Prices are reasonable, and rooms are very clean. The only suggestion I would make is to book a king size room if you are traveling with your partner or one more person. We booked a queen size and we felt we could use a bit more space. But it worked out for an overnight stay, not big deal at all. Highly recommend this property if you are visiting the area!
