Location, service and view.

Reviewed By mikedW1339GC

Excellent all round experience from the staff, location and the view from the room. The dining experience was also excellent in that the menu and the service from the staff was also exceptional. The view of the Newcastle Harbour from our room was outstanding. The only thing was that being a Rydges Member and in addition having to pay $29.00 parking fee on top of an expensive stay was irritating in view of the fact that I had not been charged this fee at this Hotel before.

Too short

Reviewed By Siale H

Our stay was for two nights. But way too short but one thing. I must say the checking in at 14:00 is way too late or any hotel for that matter. Especially if you’re paying for a premium room. If your to stay for two days, it should be a total of 24 hrs. It’s the only down side to staying. Otherwise our room was amazing. Checking in was great and easy. We will be looking at returning again. But hoping for an early check in to make it worthwhile.

Great Location Kingscliff

Reviewed By 466perryg

Holidays with my wife were beautiful. We could have stayed there the whole week without having to leave for anything. Fabulous breakfast buffet At Season. Very comfortable and well layed out room. Loved it. Staff were very friendly. Pools were excellent for relaxing with a cool unheated lagoon complex, smaller heated pool and larger jaccuzi. Lots of choice places right on the premises. Wish we could have stayed longer. Investment opportunities around there too.

A great location on the water’s edge. Free parking on the site with a lift available to access the 3 floors. Just a short walk to restaurants and cafes, the Port Central Shopping Centre and the Glasshouse Theatre. A lovely pool & spa area with towels provided at reception, a grassed picnic/bbq area and bikes available for free hire. The room was nicely decorated, spotlessly clean and comfortable with views of the river from the small balcony. The kitchenette included a bar fridge, microwave and cutlery/crockery for 2 people. A good quality free wifi connection also available.

Expensive and understaffed

Reviewed By MichaelTravel22

My stay was fine but overall the rate is very high for what you get. The room is quite sparse and simple - no real style, just generic kind of room. The staff tried their best but it was obvious they were really understaffed. Seeing guests pushing their own luggae trolleys is new for me:)

Great location, but…

Reviewed By gregoryfogarty1

I’ve stayed here a few times now, there’s just no consistency. Some rooms are semi-refurnished (definitely not refurbished which is sorely needed, just refurnished), others are that bad that the water damage on the kitchen draws prevent them from closing properly. My buré was next door to my best friends - mine had newer furniture but hers was old, tired and damaged yet we paid the exact same price. Again, there’s no consistency with the rooms, there’s no two rooms the same and you don’t know what you’re going to get until you get there. The rooms are generally old and smell musky. We ventilated the room from the moment we arrived, which helped, but clothes that we’d hung in the closet that we didn’t wear stank when we got home. For some odd reason, the room we had this time had a king size bed in the lounge room and two single beds in the actual bedroom. How odd! It was hard having our friends staying in the resort pop in for dinner or a drink because you had to go around making the place tidy and clean - something you tend to lapse on when you’re on vacation. If the purpose of this is for the kids to have the room and the adults can watch tv and stay up, great, but there were no kids so the two singles should have been made into one bed. You also don’t want to be having an intimate moment with your partner and your kids walking past your bed to go to the bathroom. The resort itself is in the perfect location, the grounds are amazing, just the rooms are a let down. Come on Accor, your brand is better than this!
