Reviewed By Iesje88Good hotel to stay for 1 night. It’s near the ferry and near al the restaurants. The rooms are small but lovely. The lady on the front desk was very friendly, it was very busy when we were there and she was the only staff member who was working that evening, she was doing the front desk also the bar/ restaurant and it was very busy(too busy for just one person!!) but she did it al with a smile!

Reviewed By Zorina80The Mare O’Poisson,Best Western is very conveniently situated in Ouistreham. Has an excellent restaurant attached but the town is in walking distance. The rooms are clean and spacious. All the staff are very helpful and friendly and go the extra mile to help you. We have been staying here on our way to France and back for quite a few years now and would absolutely recommend it. It also has an indoor swimming pool.

Pleasant place to stay handy for the ferry
Reviewed By GaryW123We have just stayed here for the first and last nights of our holiday in France and as always it was a pleasant stay. At the beginning of our trip the ferry was 2 hours late arriving so we arrived at the hotel very late. Once we were able to get into the car park and into the hotel we were given a very friendly welcome in spite of the hour. The rooms were comfortable and breakfast was good. On our return a week later we arrived at a much more convenient time and again were welcomed. This time we were catching an early ferry so didn't have breakfast. We were unlucky to have some noisy neighbours in a nearby room having loud conversations well into the night. We had reserved parking but some other visitors were rather selfish in parking badly making it difficult to park when we arrived late. Once again other customers at fault not the hotel. We are looking forward to staying again on our next trip to France

Does exactly ‘what it says on the tin’
Reviewed By drc225A very short distance from the Brittany Ferry landing this hotel was exactly what we needed. Arrived on ferry at 21:30 from Portsmouth, there about 22:30 following the q at customs/immigration. Note that Google maps will take you to the ‘wrong’ entrance. Take the entrance off the roundabout before the one Google suggests. Fully automated. Touch the screen in the entrance lobby, enter your booking number and press the correct bit and your room number and code is displayed. Same code gets you into the hotel. Room basic but clean. Comfortable bed. Our room was too hot and tinkering with the heating controls didn’t seem to help. Decent shower. Breakfast adequate. Microwaved scrambled egg and bacon and various croissant and other such stuff like juices, coffee, etc. Would happily stay there again and probably will!

Terrible hotel and not worthy to stay!!!!
Reviewed By JoyL1780Me and my husband spend a small weekend in this hotel with a “OCEAN view room” which should be called as “WALL view room” !!!! It is RIDICULOUS to charge a ocean view room for this!!! Secondly, due to the Covid, the hotel proposed to have set menu send to room. The food was “disgusting” and extremely overpriced !!! Quantity is as small as a kid’s menu and without any seasoning!!! I don’t even talk about the breakfast ... I think even a formule 1 hôtel can do better. I have no idea how come this bad maintained hotel, with such kind of room, can be even rated as 4 stars hotel !!! It should be only deserving 2 maximum!!!!! Terrible terrible terrible stay !!!!!

Location is in the port area (near the ferry) and there are about 6 restaurants in the area - the main bit of town running to the beach is about 15 minutes walk away. Parking is marked as blue-disc outside hotel but it didnt appear to be monitored and we were advised by reception to park there - there is a large car park across the road. Restaurant is good - good choices and quite busy with people not staying at the hotel. We went on a Thursday and it would be advisable to reserve

Reviewed By samuelfZ8136VBNot a great experience for my family at this hotel. In my room there was no wifi that worked so I had to hang out at the hotel lobby to access the internet. Additionally the beds were quite uncomfortable (they have a rubber bedding). Also something that was very odd was that the toilet seat came off and they didn’t have any shampoo or conditioner. Lastly, the people there were extremely unwelcoming towards outsiders. Highly recommend if you are not from France to not stay at this hotel.

Complete rip off!
Reviewed By Sunshine26803820675Please please could someone justify the application of a charge for ‘frais de dossier’ of €15 on a one-night booking for a pitch for my motor home? My stay cost €37 for an arrival - pre advised to the Campsite - at circa 20h30, in the dark, to be allocated a pitch in a very poorly lit section where it was impossible to see the pitch numbers, and a departure at 07h00 the following morning. To add insult to injury, the barrier at the entrance was broken. But instead of making this clear on the pitch allocation paper, it was only apparent when arriving in front of it, at which point reversing a 8.5m motor home in the dark, to try to find the exit barrier, was by no means an easy experience. When you book a hotel room for one night you are not required to pay a supplement for ‘frais de dossier’. So what justification is there for levying this charge on a one-night campsite booking? Frankly I am appalled by this experience, and I shall think long and hard before repeating it. Basically I feel that I have been ripped off!
