Reviewed By KimH309Stayed at the Alyson over the Christmas holidays. The rooms were excellent with really comfortable beds and a good breakfast. Whilst we did not get the chance to try the restaurant I was told it is very good. The place to stay if you are visiting this part of France

Reviewed By 824martA traditional hotel well situated in the town near the train station. It has recently been completely renovated with classy bedrooms, in good taste, with a modern reception, very chique and more in keeping with a 4* hotel! Bar area looks almost finished and equally tasteful, with beautiful large marble like tiles and chique bar. Run now by the next generation father and son, who seem to have rejuvenated this classic hotel for the future. Very kind and polite and I will return for sure! Thank you

A votre arrivée, vous pourrez prendre un rafraîchissement et vous délasser dans un agréable jardin bien arboré ou vous réchauffer devant la grande cheminée de la salle-à-manger ! Avant de vous restaurer à notre table d'hôtes conviviale avec une cuisine familiale élaborée à base de produits frais, bio et locaux, vous pourrez observer les sommets de la vallée d'Aspe depuis la terrasse haute du dortoir ou depuis les balcons des chambres !
Great location and value for money.
Reviewed By kirib30This is a great old building that is currently being restored by the owner Jean Luc. We booked the double room with the ensuite and it was perfect for us. The room was completely finished and full of character with a small corridor of old styled windows leading between the bathroom and the bedroom, and offering a superb view across the back garden to the cathedral. The shower, toilet and bedroom were very clean and beautifully presented. We were also very warm with radiators in each room that could be adjusted to suit. Jean Luc is very hospitable and friendly and couldn't do enough to help us. The continental breakfast was fine for us - bread, tea, coffee, juice and a selection of homemade preserves. His English is very very good and we were able to communicate with him easily. The accommodation is just minutes from the town centre and while we were there a number of hikers stopped to stay the night on their pilgrimage south. Jean Luc is also a fantastic cook and while we didn't dine with him, the meal he prepared was very much appreciated by the hikers who stayed there. Note to technology lovers - there is no TV here and the wifi only works in the living area downstairs, which wasn't an issue for us but may be for other travellers. Parking is available outside on quite a steepish hill so you will need a good handbrake :-) We booked here to travel over and see the Canfranc Station. Don't be put off by comments about the outside - it looks like every other French 3-4 storied home in any other town and has a great original chequered entrance hallway. We would stay again - definitely!

Near Oloron Saint-Marie, at the end of a road, we welcome you in an old farmhouse of character of the seventeenth century, enthroned in the middle of unspoilt nature and looking at the Pyrenees of Béarn and the Basque Country. Renovated in a charming guest house, with traditional and ecological materials, it will immerse you in a retro and nostalgic atmosphere while offering modern comfort and quality (1 family suite and 2 spacious bedrooms). Spaces of relaxation and well-being are at your disposal: swimming pool, hammam, gym room, living room, garden, massage (on reservation), ... as well as our suggestions of local discoveries. Local products and organic vegetable garden are on the menu of our table d'hôtes, generous and inspired at the same time (some days of the week).

Reviewed By QubusMaison d’Orride was a positive surprise in many ways. Never visited the region before so we had to wait and see. The Gites, run by Marine and Didier, is located in the pre-Pyrenees, so hilly, but not mountainious. The family house of Marine, beautiful old stone built farmhouse buildings, with a cosy cour and a breathtaking view of the Pyrenees hills and mountains. The reception by Didier and Marine was very warm and friendly. The rooms are very nicely renovated (the Gites is 3 years old), spacious and clean. There is a gym, although the machinery is somewhat dated, and a lovely pool with incredible view of the mountains. Didier was very helpful in selecting a mountain bike route and later a hike in the Pyrenees. Once every 2 days Marine cooks dinner which I strongly advise travelers to take. Tables set in the Cour, no less than one of the better restaurants, as is the food. They have a list of several restaurant in the area they recommend. A special thanks to the house dog Leon, you don’t find them more friendly and relaxed :) We only stayed 2 nights but could have easily stayed a week. I strongly recommend this Gites.

Adorable appartement
Reviewed By 601deirdrecWe stayed here for a weekend in April... we were warmly welcomed by Berengere, the owner and her husband. Her daughter knew we were coming with our four year old and left a basket of toys and books for him and couldn’t wait to play with him. We stayed in a charming and very comfortable apartment with a small bijou kitchen. The breakfast was brought to us each morning with lovely fruit salad and yoghurts and fabulous bread and jams. The owners make this place super special. They make everyone feel like old friends. I will go back.

Another superb stay
Reviewed By catfishbridgendWe have stayed for one night at this campsite on route to and from Spain a few times, but this time we stayed 3 nights. We explored a couple of areas up the Pyrenees mountains on the motorbike. The staff have always been friendly, welcoming and helpful. And on this trip the lady at the reception helped my husband with talking to dealer regarding a problem with his motorcycle. Without her kindness he wouldn't have been able to get the parts needed. The campsite is situated close to supermarkets, all within walking distance. There are some nice walking and cycling routes around the area. The facilities are kept clean and tidy, flat grass pitches, plenty of space on each pitch. Will definitely be back this year.

Clean rooms unfriendly owner
Reviewed By travelsmartuk50Room was clean, but the bed was a small double. I asked the owner for the wifi code and he grabbed my phone and entered it in!! When I asked him to write the code down for my wife's Ipad he shouted at me that he would then have to change the password. I said fine and went back to the room. He then came up and banged on the door and started saying it was difficult because of the walls but I didnt really get what the problem was he then told me the password! Breakfast was included, but best described as meagre, basically it was coffee and bread, no croissant and a very tiny bowl of fruit handed to you.

Reviewed By TravelFanaticDDA beautiful French home with lovely artistic decoration and furniture. Our room was beautiful and spacious. Nice, big bathroom with a great shower. The B&B is in a quiet location with open parking in the street. It was really helpful that our host let us park our motorcycles in the garage. It is about a 20 min walk to Oloron Sainte Marie sights and restaurants. Very good breakfast and lovely host!

Beautiful, cosy, house overlooking the Pyrenees

The location is incredibly peaceful and cosy.... Fresh air, zen and peace created a unique place with a true soul! Beatrice and Roman gave us a warm welcome making us feeling at home... A sort of home away from home... The garden should be the perfect place to enjoy doing nothing or sun bathing during spring or summer time! A place to visit, to live and to have sweet sleep!

Unique, comfortable, well-kept small hotel
Reviewed By EnnynA very pleasant hotel a few minutes from the railway station. The rooms are clean and spacious, each is decorated with a different geographical theme (China, Mexico, etc.) Everyone who assisted me was polite and helpful. The breakfast is ample, with fresh bread and croissants, yogurt, cheese, eggs, and fresh fruit. It is a modest, well-kept hotel: neither pretentious nor luxurious, but very comfortable. The hotel is at the intersection of several streets: there is some traffic noise early in the evening, but it quiets down at night. A very walkable location.
