Reviewed By AKIKAN8687we had great time stayed in the hotel, staffs, foods were all excellent!! the birthday cake surprise was blowing my mind, even thought it was my gf who told the hotel to organized which was not. Thanks again to the all staffs, really enjoyed and appreciated. Recommended!!!!!

Pascal and His wife are making lots of efforts to keep the place nice and attractive even during the time of COVID. You can snorkel, enjoy the best of the food in the island, swim or go fishing with Pascal. Massage is a separate story. They have masseuse who does it so well that every day you will feel like reborn. The owners are so incredibly welcoming. Thanks a lot for these very beautiful days. Back in Tana, but miss you guys already!

Delicious food in the restaurant NEGATIVES: Limited menu and overpriced-- bottles of water were a 4x markup from anywhere else in town, and so was the food. Because it's about an hour tuk-tuk ride into town, guests are kind of captive at the hotel for a lot of the meals, so the price gouging was not appreciated, especially for such a limited menu. On that note, the location was very inconvenient for exploring the island. The water in the bathrooms smells terrible and never gets hotter than lukewarm, so we felt dirtier than when we started when we tried to shower. It's incredibly buggy, so we were covered in bug bites-- the mosquito netting did not seem to be effective. Several dogs and cats live on the property, and although I am an animal lover and usually enjoy pets on property, these dogs were obnoxious. They were covered in dried blood from fights, visible fleas and ticks, and they would simply not move away from us no matter how much commanding or prodding. The staff were unfriendly and sometimes downright rude. Finally, on the day we checked out, they asked us to be out of our room by 9am. Choose somewhere else.

A very pretty structure at the water's edge with a pontoon. The villas, all clad in wood, are huge and equipped with 2 to 4 bedrooms, kitchen, living room, hammock on the terrace and garden facing the beach. Ramato takes care of the housework. She can also cook for you. "
A disturbing experience

The bungalow met all of our expectations and its location next to the lagoon enabled us to watch a spectacular sunset Moreover the service provided by the "gouvernante" turned out to be flawless. She was provided with a list of our requirements, food wise and was able to come up with a delicious meal. However when returning from a day trip on a Sunday we found out that the cleaning had not been done, although we had been initially told that it was included in the package. As luck would have it, the manager happened to be abroad for the week-end and the young lady at the desk was apparently under instructions not to make any decision without referring to the powers that be, meaning an endless exchange of useless mails with her boss. As stated above we only have praise for the setting and the interaction with the staff at the Villas de Vohilava but can only deplore the blunders of its management.

Excellent for adventure, expedition travel, and a honeymoon. And for those interested in history, this is the beach where debris from the missing flight Malaysia 370 has been found.

Samaria Lodge does not only offer an astonishing place just by the ocean with a spectacular wiew and a beautiful little garden, the hosts and their employees were so kind to us that they shortly became to feel like a family, Marc who runs the hotel with his wife were particularly nice to my girlfriend and I, he helped us getting around the Island and aranged scooters and tuc-tucs if needed and so much more! The hotel restaurant is one of the top restaurants I've ever eaten at! really high quality food and you get an luxuary feeling when beeing served! So in General both my girlfriend and I are more than satisfied with our stay at Samaria Lodge and hope to come back one day!
