10 hotels in New Mexico: Best hotel deals for 2023

June 22, 2022 Janette Largent

With its rich cultural heritage from Native American and Spanish settlers, New Mexico has been both a Spanish colony and a Mexican colony, and still retains a strong individual identity within the United States. The landscape is breathtaking, the food incredible, and there is a thriving cultural scene, all of which makes New Mexico, and Santa Fe in particular, a great place all year long.

Overall good hotel. Room was a little worn, furniture could have been updated. The location is good, very walkable. The restaurant was good, good cocktails in the bar and restaurant. I would stay here again if convenient but will probably try another place next time.

Fantastic hotel!

Reviewed By Casinoroyale72

This beautiful hotel made for a great 4 night base in Santa Fe. We had two rooms and a family emergency the day of check in. The manager at the time was reassuring that if we would need to leave, no problem and offered me an upgrade for my room. (We ended up staying all planned nights). The location is fantastic- walkable to the central area of Santa Fe. Lots of green space around if you have a pup. Two nights we didn’t feel like going out for dinner so had the kick back food as a snack with the drinks. Nice perk. Breakfast buffet is ok and didn’t change. It was nice that they used real plates, utensils and glasses vs plastic ware. Rooms are beautiful. They have great art around the hotel- fun to look around. Probably the best part is the employees. Everyone was friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. Special mention to those working in the food/beverage area- constantly clearing plates with a smile on their face. The managers circle around to make sure everyone is happy and give you “last call”. I really can’t find fault with this hotel. Full recommendation from me and if I find myself back in Santa Fe, this is where I will stay!

Noisy day at the races

Reviewed By Route1man

Very clean and nice. Friendly woman at check in. The only problem is , it’s by an intersection, in the center of town. Sounds like warm up at the drag races. Truck races , car races , crotch rocket motorcycle races , and horn honking . I am used to absolute quiet. I am writing this while laying in bed , hoping these yayhoos get tired and go home. I didn’t get much sleep last night , and it seems I won’t tonight either.

Hotel is beautiful. Restaurant is lacking service. Chris (Bar manager?) was the shining star! Very knowledgeable about his craft as well as the menu items. We would go back and eat at the bar anytime. The cross over to the roof restaurant, however, is where service lacks. (I know, good help IS hard to find now-days). We were told 8:30 only reservation time when the place looked half empty. Took 30 minutes to get regular water!! And another 15 minutes to get Topo Chico. Great view of city was the great distraction. We were served our food without napkin or utensils! Waitress no doubt was inexperienced, however the Manager whom I approached responded to my request, but was otherwise inattentive. Seemed more interested in talking to one staff member all night. If you want to go for a quick bite and a good drink, go to the Bar, otherwise unless you are there for the rooftop view, we suggest going elsewhere. Hotel room was nice. Only real complaint was there is not enough room between the sink and faucet

The Spa at Isleta Casino has world class Facials; ask for Julie

Reviewed By vanessamD2600JW

After having facials every 6 mo in Phoenix Arizona, I was desperate to find a great skin salon in our new home state of New Mexico. A friend in Rio Rancho NM suggested the Spa at the Isleta Resort and Casino just north of Belen NM. The Spa salon is top notch. Elegant waiting room and locker area with your own secure locker, robe, towels, and access to the Jar Spa and showers. The Jar Spa is a spa within a huge Pueblo style enclosure. Awesome! My "skin- balancing" facial was an hour long and included a mini massage of head, neck, arm, and legs. Julie, my facial professional, was kind, experienced, and adept. I highly recommend Julie for all the three types of facials offered here at The Spa. Next time I will try the massage and the Custom Active Facial! Check out the lobby of this Casino and Hotel - an awesome museum celebrating the rich artwork of the Native Americans of New Mexico.

Hotel with a great terrace!

Reviewed By Lisa P

Our family got a couple rooms for a quick Albuquerque over night. The highlights were the wonderful terrace and very good wait staff on the roof. The location is also really convenient to the university, downtown and the airport. The downside was the whole reservation process and the inability of the front desk to problem solve. It would be great if they updated the rooms with plugs for your phone near the beds. I would stay here again but I would confirm the details of my reservation and bring that confirmation with me.
