Reviewed By 963hirosI stayed at this hotel for three nights. There are smoking rooms and non-smoking rooms. Breakfast is enough good, we can enjoy American food and Japanese food. The sfaff were helpful and roon was enough wide. We can take a big bath, like an Onsen, at 12th floor. If the price is a little lower, it would be good and reasonable.

Small and good value hotel
Reviewed By weiyenglThe location is superb as we drive through Hokkaido from Lake Toya to Noboribetsu, where we can stay for 2 nights before going to Sapporo again. Muroran city has its own attractions too. The hotel is very small but this is common in Japan. Otherwise facilities were adequately equipped. They told us that we need to bring our own shampoo, body wash, toothbrush, hairdryer which is available in the Lobby but these things are available in our rooms. Breakfast is delicious but they are very strict with the timing which was only available between 630am till 9am.

If you wish to visit both places and don’t want to stay in the expensive hotels or ryokans, Muroran is a nice location to be in. You can rent a car here and Lake Toya is about 60 km and Noboribetsu is about 20 km away. Very accessible. Sunroute Hotel is in Higashi Muroran. Basically, it is not far away from Higashi Muroran Train Station. The Hokuto train stops here. Convenient. The hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the station. Taxi fare 550 yen. The hotel provides free parking lots on site. They have two car parks. Car park one is very small and just behind the hotel. However you will need to hand over your car key to the hotel staff as they may need to move your car just in case. Car park two is just a one-minute walk away and you don’t have to hand over car key. The rooms are basic. Water boiler is a small induction cooker. You can only boil one cup of water at any one time. Breakfast spread is very simple. However, it is good enough for you to start your morning activities. Across the river within walking distance to the north of the hotel, there are many eateries and one large convenient store. You will be surprised by the availability of good food in Higashi Muroran. There are some good eating places opposite Dormy Inn too. Lawson is just across the road.

Staff was very pleasing and try to assist. Hotel having history, renovated rooms. Have a restaurant with good selection of Japanese cuisine. Good stay!

Reviewed By mon1086官公庁関係のビジネスには最適の立地と思います。エスカル室蘭の時代にも利用したことがありますがホテルとしてはこんなものかと思います。中央町、浜町の繁華街(だいぶんさびれましたが)、特に室蘭やきとりの名店や天勝も近く、コンビニも近くにあるので利便性は非常に良いと思います。ホテルの良い点としては眺め(特に大浴場からの)と朝食、悪い点をあげるならば部屋のタバコの匂い、wihiの設定(うまく使えませんでした)。ある意味、昔風のビジネスホテルなので最近のビジネスホテルにあるがんじがらめの使いにくさはないです。また隣のホテルと比べると雲泥の差かと思いますが。

Sufficient for a good sleep
Reviewed By Haidee TMake no mistake, this hotel is located near Muroran station, not Higashi Muroran Station. The building is old and so are the rooms, but the amenities are good. We booked a twin room and were pleasantly surprised to find ourselves in a large room with 5 beds! This is obviously a workers lodge with a hearty old fashioned Japanese breakfast.
