While we didn’t not use the gym, it is massive. Breakfast was very fresh and hot. Bed left a little something to be desired, slight lower back pain in the mornings. Clean room. We did not use cleaning service (our preference) but was left a note under the door stating they saw our sign and did not clean the room.

Quiet hotel

We were greeted professionally . the lobby was clean but very cold. A/C was to much for a cloudy, cold day. The room was nice and roomy for 2 beds. Lighting wasn't the best. Especially for reading. Large bath with bright linens. Halls were clean as well. The young woman who worked the night shift 10/11, was a jack of all trades. She handled the front desk, Served Breakfast, fixed the juice machine and mopped the floor where juice had sprayed over everything. She did these tasks with a smile.

The room was actually very clean and good. Management allowed some people to party until 4 AM and they were yelling and cursing so much. Will question staying here again since they never enforce quiet time after 11 PM on weekend nights.

Blue Door Cottages

Just as gross as when we stayed 6 years ago.

Stayed in Studio 3. The place is just plain neglected. Same mold plus more in shower as before. Bathroom sink had only a small trickle, very small maybe a drip of water coming out. Used kitchen sink for shaving and tooth brushing. Floors were not clean. Scented plugins used to cover up musty smell. Horrible combination of smells on all of our clothing from that. Chair was Filthy. Room did have a flat screen television that was so small you couldn’t see it from bed. The remote was dirty. I truly believe this place hasn’t been deep cleaned since opening. I saw no signs of any Covid 19 precautions other than the unattended self check in. It could be nice again if the owners did some much needed simple maintenance.

Overpriced and Completely Underwhelmed

Reviewed By Novak F

Our family went to Indiana Beach to celebrate a birthday. We have been coming to Indiana Beach for decades and have stayed at a variety of resorts and properties in the Monticello area. This time around, we decided to give Pirate's Cove Resort a try. I am usually not one to write reviews, especially negative ones, but I felt compelled to write about this place because the positive reviews are EXTREMELY misleading. This was literally the WORST place I have EVER stayed in, and I have stayed in some dumps. If I could give this place ZERO STARS, I would. We stayed in the "large suite." It was a 2 bedroom suite with a kitchenette, living room area with a futon and table, and a very small bathroom. Their website stated there was supposed to be a tub with a shower - it was just a shower stall. To say it is a "large suite" is a complete joke - if it was 250 square feet total, I'd be surprised. Not to mention, it was WAY overpriced for the size and "amenities" of the room. The living room had a gas line sticking out of the wall. We are not sure if it was live or not (it appeared to be capped). There was a dehumidifier in the corner of the room. Mounted on the wall was the world's smallest flat screen TV. I have flatscreen computer monitors bigger than that thing. It was probably about 19", but could have been smaller... We weren't there to watch TV, but it was nice to be able to put cartoons on for the kids in the morning. There was also a small, round table with chairs and a futon in the room. The beds were awful. Everyone woke up with sore backs from sleeping on those rocks. I'm willing to bet they give people in prison softer mattresses than what were in this place. The futon had a hole in the mattress, and they gave us a sheet to put over the futon, but no extra blanket. My husband had to sleep on the futon because the beds were aggravating his back so much that he could not bear to sleep in the bed. To top all of this off, the room was dirty and it was apparent that they do not spend any money on deep cleaning or repairs. When we were pulling out the futon for bedtime, we found an old receipt for a fountain drink behind the futon dated July 5th, more than two weeks prior to our stay. Along with the receipt were crumbs and old pieces of candy. There was obvious water damage above the door frame and window, and the A/C smelled and was extremely loud. Under the bed in one of the bedrooms were old water bottles. We tried to open the window in the bedroom next to the kitchen. When we looked to see what was holding up the window from opening, we saw two mud wasp nests in the window frame on the outside! The fridge door was missing a handle and the coffee pot carafe did not belong to the coffee pot. They are overcharging for the rooms, so I'm sure they can afford to buy a new $15 Mr. Coffee at Walmart. Seriously. The outside was even worse than the inside of the room. The patio was cracked and there were ants everywhere. There was a wooden catwalk bridge that had broken boards. My daughter almost fell through the broken board walking over it. The "heated" pool appeared to be clean, but the only heat that pool received was from the sun. The overall appearance of this place shouted "run down." Maybe they have some spectacular cabins or something (which would explain the abundance of positive reviews) but if you're going to stay at this overpriced $h!thole, do yourself a favor and steer clear of the "large suite," and perhaps any room that says it has a "patio view."

The motel was with out a doubt dated. It was clean had a very nice deck for relaxing during the evening with other guests. Walking distance to the amusement park was a definite plus. Replacing the beds would be a great improvement but the lady that checked us in was extremely nice and helpful. Over all it was ok for a night or two but not for an extended stay.

Very bad experience super outdated and dirty

Reviewed By Didyouknow236

Stay clear of here the place is dirty, mold in the shower, rickety beds, ceiling fan shook so much we thought it was gonna fly off the ceiling and only full size beds, tv didn't work, stove was discussing, fridge dirty, air conditioning full of black mold , no towels or was cloths, no soap or shampoo, they installed plank flooring but no baseboard trim looked terrible, the front door was painted by a 5 year old, wifi was so slow it was pointless, beds where very uncomfortable, toilet paper holder was so close to the toilet if you stand up to pee it was in the way. Water smelled like a toilet. Yard and land scape was neglected and looked terrible, holes in the ceiling . No lights on the walkways very hard to see. Very lacking for 250 a night but the view of the lake was nice if stand up to see over the chain link fence if you are sitting down you are looking through it.
