Enjojable stay

Reviewed By barryhE6271RO

We recently stayed on the 7th floor for a week, we had good ocean views (beach only 50 meters away) and the 3 bedroom apartment was fairly modern and spacious with a good sized balcony facing the ocean, The pool was a decent size and of a reasonable temperature and attached was an excellent BBQ area. The neighborhood was fairly quiet with basic shops and cafes within easy walking distance. Management were very friendly and helpful. The only negative was the glass doors were a bit rattly at night with the sea breeze but this was easily rectified with a bit of cardboard jammed in the joints. Overall I would definently recommend a stay at these units.

We stayed at a multi generational family with young kids and grandparents. Two seperate rooms; one on the Bay Wing ground floor that is in desperate need of an upgrade. To access the Bay Wing from the entrance you need to take two sets of ramps or stairs, I wouldn’t say this is a pram or accessible friendly resort. *Character Meets: there is a guide in the room that is “subject to change” however what we experienced was just lazy and unorganised. The kids queued for an hour to be first for the Ninja Turtles only for some weird Banana to show up 5 mins late. Needless to say my children were not the only ones disappointed. There needs to be better communication to the guests about the experience they’re getting. *Paper thin walls and floors. You can hear every noise and peep. *Ants within the bathroom *Pool area is in need of a major reno - pool and play area is great for the kids though (see below) *Shower over tub without adequate protection to keep the water from spraying all through the bathroom - tiles are questionably slip rated. * Door lock failed multiple times leaving us stranded at the door Pool: we enjoyed the splash pad area for the kids. Easy to have a play after the parks and have a short run back to the room. Overall area is shabby, to call yourself a resort I would expect a higher level of standard in the relaxation areas. Kitchenette: basic bowels and cutlery but I would have expected a toaster, dish brush and a proper knife in a kitchenette. Melrose: a nice family restaurant. Quick, easy and basic food. All that is needed after a day at the parks. Waterfront Cafe: good takeaway style food and a good spot to catch the sunset. A little expensive for what you get. Lobby Cafe: very weak coffee and milky. We have to go outside of the hotel and SeaWorld/MovieWorld to get a decent coffee. I recommend Sens Coffee in Southport or Jamaica Blue in HarbourTown Outlets. Shorelines: we chose not to eat there. We couldn’t justify the cost. We hear mixed reviews from other guests in the hotel. Staff: the team on the front desk are friendly and we’re apologetic towards incidents. For the resort style hotel they’re going for I would have expected a doorperson/greeter for cars. Instead the Concierge is tucked behind a desk. Parking: adequate but limited. Specific parking for larger vehicles would be a good improvement. The primary benefit is the location and proximity to SeaWorld; if you’re not getting a package deal then I would imagine that other resorts would be a better option. We stayed on an attractive inclusive package with park tickets so for value paid we overlooked some issues to give 2 stars review. I would rate SeaWorld resort a 3 star hotel. Not quite a resort, but not quite a motel.

Average and not consistent

This hotel is definitely a mixed bag of good and bad. I will start with the bad first. Upon arriving at the Hotel by car we were greeted by a young lad who really needed training. There was no Welcome with a Smile and no offer to take our luggage, or show us where to park. We had to ask and he seemed very unhelpful or willing to assist. It was all very flippant and not the first impression i was hoping for. We also had an encounter with a young girl who also seemed very untrained upon checking out from a three day luxury escapes package and then having to recheck in again for a one night stay which we added on. This girl could barely raise a smile and was very unfamiliar with a mixed booking. She told me our room wasn't ready until 3 when in fact we were already in there from the Luxury Escapes Package and then took another $300 deposit from us which i was later told she didn't need to. To date i am $600 worse off as i haven't yet received either refund into my account and i am constantly checking for this. Apparently the first refund wasn't even processed from our Luxury Escapes Package and the Receptionist from our final check out has assured me she has done this - but i am still waiting to see this. The young girl really didn't know how to deal with people and it's very surprising to see a prestigious hotel put someone so without a personality on the Front Desk. The positives were the first receptionist on check in was very pleasant and smiley and she also dealt with us on our final check out. The person outside the hotel on our check out was also heaps better than the one coming in so there is really no consistent service here. We had a deluxe room overlooking the pool which was nice and comfortable and the resteraunts and service around the hotel in the food and beverage parts were good on a whole. There are just some things that sadly let this hotel down. I wouldn't be coming here again unless it was part of a package as it really does not live up to its name and is just very average. Nothing seemed sparkling and clean and the paintwork could do with an overhaul but the Reception area is probably the focal point but while we were there had a leaking roof so i suspect this hotel needs a lot more TLC.

Poor treatment!

Reviewed By traceyo1959

When the Gold Coast marathon was cancelled we thought we would do the right thing by our accommodation and postpone our booking. After a 3 night stay in November we were contacted to be told we were being charged $18 for 2 wine glasses. When we arrived we found one of the three wine glasses was cracked. We then left this on the bench for staff. We were charged for another missing glass. After emailing the Crest advising that there were only 3 wine glasses when we checked in (one of which was cracked) the manager agreed to refund the cost of 1 glass. The email we received essentially accused us of lying about the missing glass. Despite numerous follow up emails we receive no further correspondence from the Crest and they have retained the cost of one wine glass. It seems we are now being ignored. We have traveled throughout Australia & the world over the past 40 years and never been treated so shabbily. Suffice to say we will never stay at the Crest again.

Stuck in Brisbane so spent few days down the coast. Lucky enough to grab an apartment at Waterford for 4 nights. Emma was super helpful and refunded a night due to Queensland lockdown. Views were everything you see in the photos, spectacular from every room. Some of the amenities were little tired but excellent compared to the next place we stayed as there were no rooms left at Waterford.

Great location

Reviewed By Jorjie004

My husband and I stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment with a very large balcony above the cafe. The room was very spacious with lots of living space, a well-equipped kitchen, 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Would have been nice to have clean windows to enjoy the view more. Great indoor pool and spa (also has outdoor pool) Very comfortable stay in a fabulous location, very close to shops, cafes/restaurants and public transport. Beach across the road with access directly opposite. Tracey on reception was very helpful and we really appreciated being able to arrange a later checkout as our flight home was delayed until late in the evening.
