Blue Ribbon Dive Resort

Blue Ribbon Dive Resort has moved it’s business from Puerto Galera to Anilao in 2018, seeking better diving opportunities. Anilao is often debated to be the top dive destination for muck diving, with a vast number of critters most sought out by underwater photographers. Anilao, and the neighbouring Tingloy island also has world class Coral reef diving, with some exceptional sites close to the resort and a little further away. The Verde Island passage brings clear waters to Tingloy, and its famous Sombrero island, offering some amazing coral dives with some exceptional visibility. Blue Ribbon Dive Resort has been totally renovated in 2018, including the addition of a training pool, new bar and restaurant, and a lounge area overlooking the ocean. A fully fitted camera room has been designed by one of the owners, to meet every underwater photographer’s needs. Blue Ribbon Dive Resort offers PADI Freediving courses, the only resort in Anilao to do so. We are proud of our high standards

Visited twice, already planning our third!

We visited November 2021 and again in April 2022. Our first family trip in November was for our quadruple birthday celebration. We were looking for a small resort as it was our first family trip during the pandemic. We chose Blue Ribbon based on Trip Advisor reviews and I'm thrilled to say they didn't disappoint. With less than 10 rooms, the resort is very cozy and the staff make you feel right at home. Service is highly commendable as they go out of their way to make your stay extra-special. You can always tell when people enjoy what they do for a living, and the Blue Ribbon Team are definitely happy folks. We loved our trip so much in November, we booked again for January, but had to hold off til April because of Omicron. Our second trip was just as fabulous. We did several dives on both trips and their dive shop crew is awesome. On top of the daily sea turtle sightings and all the other majestic sea creatures Anilao is know for, the Blue Ribbon dive masters all have the ability to spot the tiniest and rarest sea creatures. If you're into macro diving, you'll want their DM's on your team! We love both their seaview and standard rooms, they're always immaculately clean with quality linen and mattresses. They have local and international food on the menu but can also accommodate special requests if you place your orders at least a day in advance. Have I mentioned they're pet friendly? They have resident dogs and cats who were also gracious hosts to our little poodle. ALSO, their sunset view is out of this world! To pass on this amazing Trip Advisor referral: YES, we absolutely recommend Blue Ribbon Dive Resort for everyone looking for a second home in Anilao - from single to family to group bookings!

More expensive than a 5 star hotel in Manila but amenities were poor

Reviewed By Tie K

We stayed at Camp Netanya for only 1 night (11 April 2022). Clean, very well presented facility, staff were fantastic but facilities were shocking. No hot water in the morning!!!! Bathroom flooded and no basic supplies you find standard in any 5 star hotel.

La Chevrerie Resort & Spa

About Us Literally translating to 'The Goat's Place' in English, La Chevrerie was borne out of a French diver's dream who was then just visiting Batangas to set up a place where he could let his pet goats roam freely and where he could be one with nature-enjoying the sweeping view of the beautiful sea and sunset. From this simple dream of having a quaint retreat space for himself, the French diver then decided that this blissful sanctuary was too good to be kept a secret and he set up La Chevrerie-a world-class boutique resort that promises guests a seamless fusion of comfort and style, recreation and relaxation, simplicity and indulgence. ACCOMODATIONS To ensure utmost privacy and exclusive indulgence for each guest, the resort has limited its accommodations to just 13 rooms. This limited number of rooms assures guests that each need is attended to with undivided care and attention by the resort's staff. Together, the resort's 13 rooms represent a contemporary interpretation of an effortless fusion of style and comfort, simplicity and indulgence. Designed with the highly refined aesthetics of its French owner, the resort treats guests to European perfection in modern tropical style. The sleekness of the neutral colored walls punctuated by a pop of color and the understated elegance of the wooden fixtures-all imported from countries that currently only export to European markets-mix together perfectly to relax and re-energize, giving guests that authentic experience of European luxury and comfort Suite Room Perfect for couples wishing to have their own little tranquil sanctuary, the Suite Rooms offer extra exclusivity by occupying a space separate from the resort's main hall. Perched right by the shore, guests can enjoy an undisturbed 270-degree view of the pristine waters as they retreat into pure bliss-a spacious room (82 sqm.) Complete with the luxuries of a lavish bedroom, sitting room, dining room, and an ultra-sleek bathroom. Deluxe Room Located in the resort's main hall, Deluxe Rooms provide guests with the ultimate comfort as they retire from an adventure-filled day by the beach. Each 43-sqm. Room comes complete with a spacious veranda with an impressive 270-degree sea view, a richly luxurious bed and ultra elegant fixtures-all designed to impress and indulge. All Deluxe Rooms also offer guests the choice of having either a king-sized bed or a twin bed. RESTAURANT L'Atelier Restaurant L'Atelier is the resort's premium bar and restaurant. Like the resort's suites, L'Atelier also evokes the perfect fusion of sophistication and comfort not just with its rustic yet modern design but also with the simple yet elegant gastronomic feast it treats guests to. Boat Cruise and BBQ After an eventful morning of diving, guests can unwind with an exclusive boat cruise to the beautiful islands of Maricaban and Sombrero-two of the islands nearest to La Chevrerie. Feasting their eyes on the magnificent ocean view, feeling the warm glow of the sun on their skin, and smelling the fresh salty air as it breezes through their hair, guests welcome a relaxing and re-energizing experience as they go on the 15-minute cruise en route to the islands. Once on the island, guests get to complete this feast of the senses with a guided snorkeling tour around the island's breathtaking coral-lined perimeter followed by the most luscious of all gastronomic delights-a lavishly prepared seafood BBQ specially prepared by L'Atelier's in-house chefs. Truly an experience to behold, the boat cruise and BBQ is the epitome of La Chevrerie's exceptional level of service. Trekking Making sure that guests have access to all sorts of recreational activities, La Cheverie has also prepared an in-land nature-appreciation experience for those who wish to remain ashore. Conveniently tucked near the resort is a gently sloping hill that resort staff can gladly take interested guests to. Designed to be a half-day activity, the hill's peak can be reached by guests with a 2-hour trek from the resort. For guests who wish to take a shortcut, La Chevrerie's chauffeur services can also take them to a drop-off point that's a mere 20-minute walk away from the hill's peak. With its gentle slopes-rising 525 meters above sea level-the hill can easily be trekked both by mountain climbing enthusiasts and beginners alike. Guests can bask in quiet wonder at the beautiful scenery as they slowly ascend the hill. Upon reaching the hilltop, the unobstructed view of Anilao's grasslands merging seamlessly with the clear waters of Balayan Bay is sure to take guests' breath away and make the long trek up more than worth it. Pool Swimming For guests who want to take a dip in the waters but prefer to stay in the shade, La Chevrerie provides a swimming pool facility conveniently covered by coconut and mango trees. Located just a few feet from the beach, the pool offers a great alternative to guests who want to indulge themselves with the view of the ocean but opt not to go in open waters.

Great Stay

Reviewed By BeachsunMauritius

We enjoyed a relaxing stay at La Chevrerie Resort and Spa for a week. The airport-hotel shuttle was waiting for us as expected with a very safe, convenient transfer both ways considering the sometimes challenging traffic of Manilla and the stormy weather. The resort and it’s grounds are well maintained and make for a good first impression. The rooms are decorated with a modern European inspiration that holds true to the French name. They are spacious and clean with a very acceptable bathroom. The balcony is spacious and comfortable to enjoy a gorgeous sunset overlooking the swimming pool area and the ocean. The French themed restaurant is very open and inviting to sit for a meal and enjoy the views. The menu caters for a variety of tastes with generous, tasty portions. The staff is all-round friendly and very accommodating, always picking up on the small things to add to the overall experience. We used the week to do a lot of scuba diving and although we certainly missed a camera room the resort did it’s best to facilitate our diving, culminating in a week of great, easy diving. Although not a diving-specific resort, we would certainly not hesitate to recommend it or to return one day.

Casita Ysabel

Casita Ysabel is a charming and peaceful space known for its rustic comfort. This family-run Bed & Breakfast is nestled in the peaceful mountainside of Mabini, Batangas. The drive entering the resort is an experience in itself as you drive past a forest via a steep slope covered by foliage. It overlooks Balayan Bay and offers a quiet and peaceful atmosphere morning till night. The view is fantastic, but there may be a bit of a hike to get to the beach and some of the rooms. This place may not be recommended for those with mobility issues. Right in front of the resort is the Casita Ysabel reef which is designated as a Marine Reserve Area. The coral reef is beautiful and teeming with marine life. Guests come to Casita to relax and disconnect in a cozy and laid-back atmosphere. The resort never gets too crowded as there are only 10 rooms available.

Very poor customer service

I had an emergency and asked politely if they can move my accommodation to another date, they promptly replied with a no. This is how they treat their supposedly guest. Do not go to this place. 2 days earlier I also asked about their menu there was no available set menu, imagine it can be a disaster for you as well.

We loved our villa Casa Antonina. Very nice and clean interior. We especially liked the veranda and the view it offers and the ambiance of the resort. We also learned that even when the strict restrictions were lifted, they still maintain a number of open villas and keep some closed to ensure that there will be not much of guests and make the guests feel safer. Very relaxing and definitely not crowded. Friendly staff and good food. It's just not highly recommended for seniors or toddlers because of the steps since the place is built downwards. Nevertheless, we are already planning our return. :)

Had a blast here! They really went out of their way to give excellent service to the customer. Even to the extent of marketing & providing healthy food & drinks for diabetics like me. Before you can even ask for anything like free coffee, or even icecold water, they’re ready to give it to you with the sincerest of smiles & greetings! Anilao may not have a shoreline but Philip Ann Resort makes up for it by offering free kayak, snorkelling gear & huge float so you can enjoy the sea water to the max. You dont even have to pay even for the use of the gym, use of the steamroom, videoke room , billiards & games, & they do have a bubbly jacuzzi & pool with floats for kids & adults, by the sea. With their facing-the-sea balconies pumped up with sofas, hammocks, sunchairs to enjoy the great sunrise/sunset/starry views in comfort, or while having your meals set up in the balconies, these all make up for whatever you may find lacking in your room or stay. Ours was a quick break from worklife & when free tequila or buy one take one margaritas was offered, it clinched our resolve that this is one of the resorts we’d go back to in the near future. Never mind beach walks when everything else you need is available with solicitous staff making your stay memorable, and the salo salo meals, their version of boodle, are great for 6 hungry peeps, with extras to boot, in their restobar with a view of the sea. Their descending steps are good for exercise, but if you’ve problems descending or ascending, they’ve an army to help you manage this, even if they’ve to carry you up or down (i believe), the way they get hold of your baggages whether small or big, even from the parking area, a few meters away. The response also to your queries is super fast. Rooms, though small, are clean and smell good. Thank you Philip Ann for setting the bar when it comes to excellent Filipino customer service.
