Reviewed By 807georgepNice, clean, good breakfast, great location and very friendly staff. We would definitely go back with one condition: to be offered a bigger room coz this one was not comfy at all. Apart from that, it was an overall good experience!

Reviewed By HazelandPieterEnjoyed our stay at La Castelet. The hotel was clean, and served a great buffet breakfast with lots of choice, and helpful staff. Well located for the skiing, (a bus took us up the hill-and back) and other amenities including local restaurants and shops.

Reviewed By sig888Stayed twice recently - centre ville location opposite town park and ski bus at door - staff don't speak English but went out of there way to assist and make welcome -rooms comfortable and well heated - had interesting view up to snow covered hills and down the shopping lane - bonus of lovely period dining room offering combination of buffet and cooked main dinners - fell on our feet here and will be our come back to spot in this lovely town

Reviewed By sara1187147This is our fourth time in Mont Dore. Stayed in another hotel in the centre of town twice and enjoyed it. Stayed in another hotel 30 seconds away the third time. Our fourth time neither were available. This hotel is literally 1 minute walk from town and was so much quieter as not on the Main Street of the town. So close to all amenities. Very clean. Friendly staff. Would stay here definitely when we return. Private parking. Beds very comfy. We like firm beds but not too hard. Lounge also available and continental breakfast very good value.

Desk staff, in fact staff generally, surly and unwelcoming. Box of a room with no a/c or ventilation. An absurdly cheap and uncomfortable mattress which rendered sleep impossible and made me ache all day. There’s much better to be had in Le Mont-Dore.

Everything was spotlessly clean and the entrance, bar and breakfast areas have been pleasantly renovated Our room had been nicely decorated. The hotel is situated in the centre of Le Mont-Dore with adequate free parking a short distance away across a well lit park in front of the hotel. The continental breakfast was plentiful with a variety of home-made jams and a constant supply of coffee and/or tea available. The town has many restaurants to cater for all tastes. There are thermal baths as well and the surrounding area is good for walking and ski-ing. .

Lovely quadruple room (small and with low ceiling, but EXACTLY as advertised and foretold when I booked by phone), awesome location by the slopes. No skiing this time, but some great sledging as a family, and a nice after-sledge drink on the pallet furniture. Food pick up well-organised, felt safe throughout the stay. Merci, et à très bientôt!!

Reviewed By Ian MA great value Menu de Jour at just €12 plus drinks for four courses. No choices but our lunch was typical of the area, simple but well cooked. Our waitress spoke some English to offset our limited French. Lots of choices in town, but nothing compares for value.

Great rooms awful food
Reviewed By barryjones1155The rooms are fabulous, really very good especially if you opt for the privilege rooms. The downside is the awful restaurant. The food is all microwaved and served half cooked. Menu prices are straight from Paris but the quality is very poor. Such a shame.
