Reviewed By GreenleafVermontPension L'Instant is a fantastic place to stay in Le Hohwald. It is a lovely walk out of the village but still close enough to shops and restaurants. Ideal would be to opt for full board, as the cooking is absolutely delicious. (No wine, however; though perhaps it is up to patrons to bring.). The breakfast was the most copious and delicious breakfast we had on our weeklong hike through the Alsace. Everything was homemade and fresh--all vegetarian. Management is very attentive and kind. Rooms are spacious and simple. It was terrific.

Apartment house for 2 or 12 persons in the Vosges mountains, centre Alsace close wineroad, Strasbourg and Colmar. Hiking,biking and driving paradise. You can have breakfast if you want or do as you like in personal decorated studios. Just come and visit us!

The wisteria wasn’t totally over and there a the area looked beautiful The rooms are really apartments and well furnished. Mine had a sun terrace balcony with a wrought iron table and chairs A pleasant place to while away the evening with a glass of wine and a book. Don’t miss breakfast! The breakfast room is like a set from a Roald Dahl movie or an Aladdin’s Cave. There are puppets. cushions, tapestries, a Rocking Horse, an upright piano, dolls, soft furnishings, assorted bric-a-brac and much more, everywhere you look. It’s delightful! Elizabeth, whose family has lived in the area for several generations, readily offers useful advice on the attractions in the area and there is a very pleasant restaurant just a few meters away which offers good value evening meals and, after an energetic countryside walk, a welcome draught beer. I will certainly stay here again

Delightful hotel
Reviewed By GIC_BerksStayed 4 nights in Sept 2016 in one of the duplex rooms. Spacious and comfortable, but with the slight inconvenience of two levels with the bathroom downstairs. Lovely welcoming staff, two restaurants (one weekend-only where "tartes flambées" are served) both excellent, with good food and excellent service. Ate here all 4 nights. Located in a very beautiful village.

Photos deceiving
Reviewed By ckanflyThe photos of this place have to be very old because they make the place look new and decent. The reality is the place is old and smelly and in places just plain gross, like the shower which was rusty and moldy. We had a conference at a nearby location which is why we selected this place (and by looking at the photos). We also picked it because they had a pool (described on website as "spa", again with new pictures) as we have teen boys who would want to swim. About a week before our arrival date we were contacted by the hotel asking us to move to another property about 45 minutes away as they had a "large group" coming. We had made our reservations about 5 months in advance because of the conference and being in a remote location, so we said no. When we arrived we were dismayed by our rooms and the boys could not get into the pool because the very large group had it "reserved" for only their use. My husband read the riot act and the rude receptionist threw his keys! BTW the whirlpool part of the "spa" had no water in it. Again the "restaurant" pictures were from a long time ago and we never saw a soul in there, it looked like a sad room of bygone days - until the large group arrived and then they had it the whole time (however we did not envy them as I peeked in the kitchen looking for hot water for tea and it was absolutely disgusting!) Wi-fi was free however terribly spotty and constantly kicked you out so you'd have to go through a long process to reconnect. Terrible place - avoid unless you just enjoy old, gross places.

Reviewed By ulis2013Stayed here for one night with my 2 sisters and my husband. I wish we could have stayed longer. Our host Elisabeth made us feel as we were old friends or family. Such a warm hearted, friendly person! We learned a lot about the area from her as well. The rooms are clean and comfortable, you find everything to make your stay easy. The breakfast was to die for! Fresh croissants, baguettes, jams, fruits, yoghurt and much more.. something for everyone. I can only recommend this place to anyone traveling in the area. I hope to be able to return someday! Thank you very much for such great memories, Elisabeth!

Das Haus liegt an wunderbarer Lage und der grosszügige Wohn- und Essraum ist mit verschiedenen Sitzgelegenheiten ausgestattet, so dass nie das Gefühl von Enge aufkommt. Die Küche ist hervorragend ausgestattet und in den sieben Schlafzimmer lässt es sich an der ruhigen Lage wunderbar ausschlafen. Die Besitzerin pflegt ihr Heim sehr liebevoll und ist auch auf der kommunikativen Ebene Top.
