There's a lot to be said for staying in an area which is Adults Only. I guess we were just unlucky to be staying when a hen party of 4 ladies celebrating a 50th birthday were there and didn't seem to care how much noise they made at 2.30 a.m.! Not the hotels fault though, so here goes on some points I hope help you:- Only Royal Level guests can access the swimming pools, sunbeds & Atlantico restaurant & bar in this area as you need to swipe your room card to get in. The top floor is reserved for the suites (the photo's you see on the website). A couple of negatives with our room - walls were paper thin so we could hear neighbours on both sides, particularly from the bathroom - although our English neighbours said they heard no noise at all. No privacy on the balcony as there's a small piece of latticed wood in the centre, which is then open at each end enough for someone to climb through. Toilet paper was very thin. Minibar is stocked with a couple of complimentary drinks on arrival, but if you use anything after that then you have to pay. Hotel complex is built on a very steep hill, but there is a lift down to the road level at the bottom of the complex. Positives:- We liked the turndown service as our bathroom was dried up after showering and we got dry towels. Housekeeping staff seem to be busy along corridors all day. There are large bottles of toiletries in the bathroom so no need to carry extra weight in your luggage. Likewise, nice sunbed towels which you can change with the lifeguard whenever you want. There is a built in clothes airer on the balcony. Seaview was fantastic - the beach (quite a lot of which in Jandia is for naturists) is also very clean and about 12 kilometres long! You get a bottle of water each day in your room, but can ask at any bar for more which was great. Cocktail Bar for Royal Level guests opens at 6.30 p.m. and is a nice place. Branded spirits of generous proportions. We liked the Atlantico restaurant as food and service both very good - tried both the Bar-b-cue & al la carte but weren't impressed and wished we hadn't bothered. We watched all of the shows in the main theatre while we were there and were surprised at how much we enjoyed them all - do go along early though as seats quickly fill up. Be aware that there is generally only one barman on duty and sometimes the queue was 20 people long. The bars close at 11 p.m. The Cocktail Bar closes at 11.30 p.m. One more problem I've just remembered - there are no sun umbrellas around the Royal Level pools - just fixed shaded areas, so we often saw guests putting a towel down in the shaded area and also in the sun thereby taking up 2 sunbeds in effect - unfair. We went with Jet2 and never saw the Rep once - there was no welcome meeting but thankfully all hotel staff are friendly and helpful and Jandia is not a big place - just one road really which has a good pedestrianised pavement all the way along.

Good value for money

Ok let’s start with check in. This was very slow and we could not get in our rooms till after 3pm but we still found the reception staff polite and pleasant.. The room was very basic but comfortable and cleaned daily. The TV had about 4 English channels which was nice as we got to see some of the Queen’s Jubilee. The pool area we found not to be so clean. There are not enough bins and when we went to put the towels down in the morning we found a lot of rubbish from the night before still not cleaned up. I think they need to have more staff cleaning the pool area. The pool also needs to be cleaned a lot more. I am an early riser and only saw someone cleaning the pool once in the week we were there. This person only spent about 20 minutes cleaning the whole pool and that’s was just around the edge. This shows when you are in the pool as you can feel grime on the bottom. On the good side the pools are on the big size and the heated pool is lovely and warm. There are plenty of sun beds around the pools but there are no umbrellas. There are solid sun covers at the rear all the way round the pools, which are lovely and shady. However, families do want to keep eye on the kids when they are swimming and not have to sit few rows back. Therefore, the front row of sun beds have no protection from the sun. I bought my daughter a pool ring, as I do every holiday. I then watched as a lifeguard and a lady security officer went round telling people that they could not have floaties in the pool. They came round to us and we were told that the pool rings we had were okay. The next day I got told by a new lifeguard that my daughter and her cousin couldn’t use there rings in the pool. I did have argument with the lifeguard and then went to the guest relations lady who explained that they do not allow anything large in the pool. She came down to see the size of the rings and said they were ok. This was a bit weird as they do seem to allow some and not others, it should be rather yes or no. The food is ok. I always found a good choice of food and I’m a very fussy eater. The staff are polite and keep tables clear but they could do with turning the air-con on as it’s very hot in the restaurant. The evening entertainment is ok but it never seems to start on time so kids get tired and very bored. The kids mini disco is in small building, well away from the main entertainment. We found this well below standard. It’s almost like they want to keep everyone away from watching the kids having fun. My daughter and her cousin who go away 4/5 times a year did not want to stay. The exact words were ‘this is rubbish and for babies’. The entertainment team do try doing small activities during the day which can be good but again they seem to be very hit and miss if they are on. All in all the hotel itself is lovely but there are a few things that need to be sorted!!

Perfect stay! ?

We are very pleased with this stay. The hotel was great, the rooms clean and the buffet varied. (Dudoh was perfect with us?) The staff was very welcoming and especially Néstor, a receptionist very available and attentive. We also had a good animation team, like Marcel, a very dynamic and always smiling animator, we recommend you his activities, we had a great time! ? The only problem of the hotel is that there is not necessarily a customer parking, which is not good for a 4 stars hotel. This hotel is also very good for children, there are many activities and space for them.

We absolutely loved our week holiday at this lovely hotel . We travelled the end of May as a family of 5 . We emailed ahead to request an inter-connecting room and received just that . We arrived at the hotel approx 12.30pm expecting to have to wait for our room but it was ready for us. Check in was fast . Welcome drink was much appreciated . Rooms were spacious , immaculately clean and plenty of storage. A little dated yes but it didn't bother us one bit. The food at this hotel was spot on . Varied, plentiful and very tasty . We were never left hungry . The kids absolutely loved the pools and slides and the activities taking place at them . The entertainment team at this resort were fantastic !! ? Shout out to Lucas, Vini, Shirley , Anna (to name but a few). These guys work so hard to make your stay here enjoyable. From cocktail making beside the pool, keeping the kids entertained, aqua aerobics ,evening entertainment.... these guys did it all and put so much energy into it. We don't tend to go back to the same hotel twice but if we did , we would definitely consider returning here .

Excellent resort but evening entertainment could be improved

Reviewed By lucykF5327XV

Visited first week of June and could not fault the staff from when we arrived until we checked out, always very helpful and welcoming, maybe only negative was that most of them did not speak very good English, but we always managed to get by. The resort was spotless and the grounds were always being maintained and looked amazing. There are activities from morning to night suitable for all hosted by a very energetic fun entertainment team. My husband took part in the Tennis sessions every day and was very impressed by the coach, always very helpful and welcoming. The variety of food for an all inclusive is really good and there was only one meal, in a week, where I found that I was struggling to find something to my taste. The pool bar lunch food was exceptional every day and always very high standard. There are a lot of reports regarding difficulties in getting sunbeds but this is if you are looking for shade a majority of the day. We could always find sunbeds at anytime of the day, if you are not fussy with your location, always very close to one of the pools. The resort could maybe add tables with holders in them because the cups get blown around in the wind, spilling sticky drinks on the floor which can invite flies if not cleaned quickly. A must if you are visiting are clips for your towels and taking trousers and jumpers for the evenings, as most of the entertainment is outside. Evenings can be very cool with the wind, making it uncomfortable to sit around and enjoy.

We have visited Melia hotels in both Palma and Alicante. Don’t even think about compare the high standard in those to this hotel. Check in was smooth and kind. Short after arrival we experienced a really cold room. We asked reception about heat, and they informed that there were no heat, and they were not used to have such cold weather. Not even a electrical heater was available. What are they doing in the winter period ? After 5 days (out of 7) they offered us another room which should be more warm. Struggling with luggage and all belongings was not worth it. The floor behind the door is dirty and dust beside bed, even though the cleaning actually do a good job. The water in the toilet is running which make it difficult to flush, and the sink was periodic blocked. Ordered a so-called burger, but it was the worst burger I have ever seen and tasted. I looked like a coin offer from McD. Don’t ask for room service it is only open until restaurant opens, but still charged for 5 € in fee. Good breakfast nothing is missing. First evening in the restaurant my wife only got 1 pcs of chicken. Why didn’t they ask in mail how much chicken, when we informed hotel long time before stay, about special needs. The “half board” menu is not worth buying. We only did it to ensure our special need. Boring is the best description. Most of the staff are not English speaking so communication gets irritating really fast. Not even in the reception they understand a simple sentence like “cleaning forgot to leave toilet paper” In general the hotel is a worn out hotel. Painting peel off and the hotel look dirty from the outside. Some areas are renovated. It seems that a desperate try to renovate bathrooms failed and they ended up giving it some paint on the tiles. In the night bathroom smells like a humid cellar. In the room you can hear your neighbours loud and clear. Even when they visit the toilet The view from the room to the lagoon is excellent. But absolutely not worth € 1.401 for 7 nights. Absolutely not worth the money

H10 Playa Esmeralda is an adults-only hotel near Costa Calma, on the southeast coast of Fuerteventura. There's a range of daytime and evening activities organised by the staff, as well as plenty to do independently around the hotel. The hotel's buildings are all arranged to face in towards the pool area. There's a sun terrace and a garden, an outdoor pool with a pool bar, and space to enjoy sports activities in the sunshine. The hotel has three restaurants, one of which was renovated in 2018. There are also several bars to choose from, including a lobby bar with a terrace, and a disco bar, which is open until late. Inside, you'll find a heated indoor pool, as well as a gym for keeping up with your workouts on holiday. You could relax in the spa and sauna when you've finished your exercise. There are plenty of places to eat, drink and shop in the many resorts around the island, with lots of local markets and bars to discover.

Amazing views

We are spending our last day here before going to Corralejo. We are staying in the junior suite with a huge balcony, 2 sunloungers, beautiful views of the sea. The service was very good from the start, check in quick and easy. The cleaning service is also great throughout the hotel. The first night we had dinner in the privilege restaurant. Unfortunately the food was not great ( in my case it was inedible baked seabass) so we decided to abandon dinner and use the main restaurant instead. The buffet breakfast and dinner was always very good, we always found something nice to eat, therefore we never used the privilege restaurant again. We went half board, during the day we explored the surrounding beaches, therefore we didn't need lunch. I would highly recommend to visit Morro Jable if you have a rental car. There is a privilege lounge from 9am to 9pm where there are snacks and drinks available throughout the day. The room was amazing, however the A/C is not very effective (to say the least) and we found that this was in issue in the whole complex. We used the gym every day, where there is no A/C at all. The hotel has access to a small beach, which is great, and the pool is also good. We didn't use the spa, as it was too warm. The evening entertainment was good. Costa calma and Sotavento beach is very close. There are shops and pharmacy close by in case you need anything. I would definitely stay here again, however the A/C needs to be improved.
