Decent hotel in a nice resort town
Reviewed By AK0704We stayed for 2 nights at this hotel, and overall had a very enjoyable stay. The hotel is not as modern as you might suspect from the photos, and the rooms are fairly basic. There is a nice pool and jacuzzi, and a rudimentary gym, although the latter is in a fairly odorous basement. The town itself is very pleasant with some good value places to eat, and many lovely beaches nearby. Overall, this was an average hotel, but vey handy for Santander and Bilbao.

The third floor room with balcony overlooking the sea and river was very comfortable and clean with a safe as well. The dining room was large and airy and we thoroughly enjoyed the food and free wine every evening. The staff were amazing and worked very hard. The beach at the hotel when the tide went out was challenging, you would need a walking pole to help you across the river if you are at all unsteady!! Position of hotel unbeatable, we would go back definitely,

Reviewed By B3296XIhazelmWe returned to Hotel Playa la Arena for our 3rd visit at the end of January. As always the staff are incredibly helpful and charming and nothing is ever too much trouble. We booked the Platinum deluxe package this holiday and loved the infinity pool and the quality and variety of the food, snacks and drinks available in the pool bar.Our room on the 8th floor was lovely with a fabulous view. Also the various seating areas inside and on the outside terrace provides so much variety to enjoy a quiet drink before and after dinner. There is always plenty of delicious fresh food to choose from in the buffet but a small suggestion would be to offer more spicy dishes. We will certainly be returning next year for another fabulous holiday at Hotel Playa La Arena !

Reviewed By dawn1234As previous people have said the staff just cram u into any space free.. Not a proper pitch... We left after 1 night n moved to another better site.. Girl in reception was rude, do have to say though the bar man was lovely n tried his best to understand our requests at dinner.. Small , crammed inn rude staff would not return.. Toilet roll costs very little update your toilets..!!!!

Reviewed By CivrasienNice hotel, friendly staff. We hoped the pool would be open, but in early June it wasn't. Really comfortable bed, good breakfast. Would stay here again. Good price, close to restaurants and bars, but nice and quiet.

Baños de diseño, espaciosos y funcionales, televisiones en todas las habituaciones y el salón y wifi. Nos encantaron y repetiremos otro año si volvemos por esa preciosa zona de Cantabria.

Reviewed By DublinDianeThis is a beautiful home in a rural setting & it caters for every taste & it is also wheel chair friendly . It is very close to the town of Isla. The garden is large & has a trampoline for children to play on. There is an indoor pool & gym . The rooms are all en-suite with balconies & tastefully furnished. Our hostess Inma is a lovely lady & gave us a wonderful welcome. Our room was very comfortable & we slept soundly. The breakfast we had ,was absolutely delicious all home cooked local produce , beautifully served. I highly recommend staying here , you will not regret it.
