Excellent location and amazing staff!
Reviewed By Lauren CMe and my partner stayed here last week and we had a wonderful stay. The hotel is mainly family run and the staff are just lovely and very helpful. Rooms were clean and spacious with a nice little balcony. Breakfast was served on the rooftop terrace and was nice. We hired bicycles for less than €3 a day from the hotel. The location is excellent, right in the heart of the village. There are a couple of corner shops opposite that we were able to buy water and snacks from. All in all our stay was great here. The only thing to fault was the internet as it kept disconnecting from the room but we were on the top floor. Wifi was perfect at reception with no issues.

Reviewed By sarahbK676OQEverything was great except that their restaurant was closed and of course no breakfast. I would have loved to try their dishes. Read a lot of reviews about their restaurant. It was also a little hard to get to the city and everything we knew was closed. We even ended up buying snacks for our dinner on the full moon day because we didn’t find anything open.

Kumudra Hill Inn & Spa is a boutique hotel located at the entrance of Hsipaw, on top of a small hill, with a 360° view on the valley. The rooms are spacious, all doubles and triples have balconies. There is a viewpoint restaurant on the rooftop, serving delicious French and Italian food, a hot Jacuzzi at the highest point of the hotel, and a swimming pool in the garden.

Reviewed By swissgastroWe stayed for 4 nights and it was one of the best stays in we had in Asia. The hotel is very nice, clean and has a nice pool. The staff is very friendly and treats you like family. Even their dogs are super friendly and are always up for a walk. They organised out trekking through Firefly which was great as well. It's really a fantastic example of customer service and excellence. We will go again. You can also contact them directly for booking rather than via a booking platform (you might get a better price). Don't wait - go.

Mr. Charles River View Lodge is an affordable stay while allowing you the escape from the hustle and bustle of the downtown Hsipaw area, Located about 7 minutes ride by Tuk Tuk from the center of town. Our lodge find itself leasantly situatd in a Shan Village between our peaceful River and one of the most picturesque landscapes Hsipaw has to offer. We are able to offer both single and double rooms. Both style of rooms, while offer erring views of our beautiful scenery from the inside, also provide a private balcony both in front and back. All of our rooms, while maintaining the integrity of a traditional Shan Style-Style-Design are able of offer modern comforts and conveniences. Of course these include a private bathroom with hot and cold water, a television, blow dryers as well as a safety box for the safekeeping of personal items.
A little disappointing
Reviewed By sarahbK676OQThe room was clean and nice. The view was great. The atmosphere was quiet because they didn’t have a lot of guests. We liked the dinner that they delivered to our room. I was looking for traditional food and it was exactly what I needed. The beer that you can buy outside for 2200 kyats was 4500 kyats at the hotel! I find it a bit too expensive. At first, everything seemed perfect. But then the breakfast was disappointing. It had nothing to do with the pictures that you can see on Tripadviser. I understand that they didn’t have a lot of guests but they could’ve at least made more traditional fries because they had only a few on the plate and you feel embarrassed if you want more: you leave like 2-3 for other people. Basically, the breakfast was fried rice, fried vermicelli, sautéed beans and a few fried sausages with one fried egg… No coffee and only powder juice. They said they had no customers for weeks. But I don’t see how this can stop you from buying some coffee and keep it for the day you have customers again. Thanks god they had some tangerine! On top of that, the checking out process wasn’t on the level. I was just preparing my bike and took only a few things out. My friend went to the reception to ask for some info before we leave, she didn’t even give back the key. When I get to the room to take the rest of our things, they’re already there checking the minibar and the rest. It felt like we were running away and they were afraid we did something wrong. It left an unpleasant feeling at the end.

Nice stay, fluffy dog
Reviewed By TheKrautsWe had a nice stay in this family run hotel. Breakfast is very rich and served on the beautiful rooftop from where you can watch the monks on their daily tour in the morning. The rooftop is open and it's quiet chilly in the mornings ther, but nothing a cup of Shan tea couldn't solve. I loved petting their very hairy and fluffy dog every time we got in and out ;). The owner was so nice to drive us to the railway station without asking, even though it is very close by.

Reviewed By Tony_le_BlancThis place is in a good location next to the main st and by the river. Rooms are reasonably sized and beds are good. For economy rooms you must use shared showers/toilet on first and sixth floor. Showers are clean with piping hot water. There is also a nice lounge area with sofas and TV. Breakfast is really good. Walls are a bit thin so earplugs are needed. Would stay again.

Reviewed By Charmin_ArminStayed here few years ago and wanted to give the hotel a 2nd chance but it's still not the best deal in town (Red Dragon rules) Got a mattress on the floor in the backyard and dirty bed linen. Payed more than usual (don't change Dollars here as they offer a really bad rate) Anyway Breakfast was included and tasted good

Reviewed By OldiedriftersGreat location in the middle of town. Restaurants and amenities all around, close to market and river. Bicycle hire available. Staff very friendly but English was difficult. Breakfast was basic but adequate. They kindly allowed us a late checkout at 3.30pm for which we are very grateful. The hotel is on the main road but we had a back room which was fairly quiet. We enjoyed our stay here and would recommend this hotel.
