10 hotels in Helena: Best hotel deals for 2023

July 14, 2022 Venice Greaves

Although the once glittering Last Chance Creek has long dried up, Helena's Gold Rush history is reflected in its preserved architecture, from the spires of St. Helena Cathedral and the Queen Anne style Original Governor's Mansion to the restored miner's village of Reeder's Alley and the oldest house in the city, Pioneer Cabin. For those seeking adventure, the paths of Mount Helena Park provide ample activity. Helena also offers much in the way of arts and culture with theaters and galleries.

Justin and Dan provided outstanding customer service. I recently had knee surgery and have a handicap placard but was unable to use the two spots behind the conference center as they were already filled. Dan was kind enough to find convenient parking for me. Justin was very helpful and accommodating as well. Everyone I came into contact with was pleasant and friendly.

The rooms were expensive and the hotel is located next to a very busy and noisy road. Overall the stay was good. The staff was friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean, and the breakfast was mediocre.

A little dated, but overall good experience

Reviewed By jhunter2022

The hotel looks dated and needs some upgrading exterior and interior. Lobby, especially. Room was very clean, but too close to the lobby/laundry and that was noisy. Service was great. I would stay here again, it was a good value and close to everything.

Downright Friendly

Reviewed By Joelle G

Really enjoyed my stay here. Located in historic downtown Helena, this Doubletree was remodeled about 5 years ago. The rooms were clean and comfortable and had everything that you would expect from a Doubletree. The staff were all very friendly. I will say that when we checked in they weren't good about explaining all that was available to us, like availability of breakfast, that the connecting restaurant was closed for two weeks or things like use of the wifi. They should also play up the nice things to do in Helena. When we asked what is there to do, it was kinda like, "not much". I've been to Helena before and know it has a rich and wonderful history. Again, everyone was really friendly, just need to learn to talk up the town to tourists. I would definitely stay here again.

Expensive stay for a dirty room.

Reviewed By Kathy J

The front desk staff were unfriendly, the room was not cleaned well! The dishes were still in the dishwater. Hair all over the sheets and in the bathroom. Expensive room, requested 2 queens, was given 1 queen with a pull out couch. I called down to the front desk and they were not accommodating. I’m a Hilton diamond member, and I can say this was the most expensive stay for a not very enjoyable hotel. Positive was good location, good views.
