High price for not a lot off comfort

Outside a grillplace with enormous lights and noise (fridaynight). Outside our room red light from hotel very disturbing. Two older ladies at reception not very friendly or even happy people. Breakfast was very simpel, coffee was terrible. In the afternoon no service at the terras (I sat there for an hour). The swimmingpool was not to clean. The best thing in this place was the breakfast frozen yoghurt! I guess the only really

Best Breakfast and a Nice Stay
Reviewed By Traveler64370728434Our room was nice and we made use of our room's patio with a small table. The breakfast was an extra fee, but included a wonderful selection of pastries, eggs, coffee, cheeses and more. Shower was a little problem with water escaping, but we coped.

Internet in the (rather small) room was rubbish (but ok in the dining room), staff were helpful. Breakfast was more than adequate (again, for the money :o) and, if I had to complain about something, it would be the ants. I wasn't expecting company but, apparently, it's quite normal. Would I stay at another B&B Hotel after this experience? Yes, I would be happy to.

Extremely rude management
Reviewed By LondonTravellerDGBooked this hotel so my 2 kids could enjoy the day at the pool when whilst we were waiting to get into our other accommodation next day We booked this despite other hotels being cheaper as we wanted the pool Arrived late on Friday and were told the pool cannot be used as it is undergoing maintenance. Whilst I fully understand the need for this to happen, we did pay the extra to get a hotel w/ pool. On departure we left and politely asked if they could reflect the lack of available facilities we had booked on the invoice. (owner/Isabelle) looked puzzled and responded defensively. She failed to understand the facilities we had booked were not available, and made a drama by raising her voice and insulting me. She refused on the basis that I had prepaid and she didn't know how to offer this as she said it's not possible in a dismissive way. I informed her that if she would contact the travel agent they would happily reverse a small part. She shouted saying I'm saying she doesn't know how to do her job. At this point, shouting at your guests, insulting them and refusing to even acknowledge there was an issue, yes Isabelle, you do not know how to best perform your role. She then wanted us out of her hair and dismissed us saying she will call them and arrange a refund. No refund arrived Travel Agent reached out to her and Isabelle responded saying she changed her mind and is no longer offering anything! Basically she lied to us to get us out of her hair which tops off her behaviour!

Very Disappointing
Reviewed By Pamela009We booked a junior suite and were very disappointed that at 5am both mornings we were there the dustbin men arrived so we were woken up by them, it was room 111 so avoid that room ! The hotel were not concerned when we mentioned it on leaving, It would have been good if it had been pointed out to us and we could have then had an option on another room. The air conditioning was not very effective. The wines were very expensive for Provencal wines and the dinner was OK.

Sabrina and her family are the best hosts you could dream of and the place is elegant, comfortable, in peaceful nature...You won’t want to leave it, I warn you! We came here for two days and managed to stay four, enjoying a tiny bit of the incredible surroundings (we’ll be back).

Comfortable with lovely hosts
Reviewed By 597fionamI stayed here a couple of weeks ago with three colleagues to film someone who lives locally and it was good. Nelly is very gracious and welcoming and the breakfast spread is delicious and filling. My room was a separate cabin the the garden and was comfortable with heating and air con and a fabulous shower. The WiFi was good. If you’re on a work trip and need to be someone at a particular time it might be better to stay somewhere in Gémenos itself which it about 10 minutes brisk walk away. We had camera equipment and it was quite heavy as we walked back along the track amidst the fields. We tried to order Uber a couple of times which worked but there seemed to be only one man locally and there were 5 of us so too many for one car (hence the walking). On our return journey we couldn’t get a taxi large enough so Nelly’s daughter kindly drive us to Marseilles airport in her pick up - much cheaper than the taxi would have been if we’d been able to book one. And very kind. My colleague swam in the outdoor pool one morning - it looked very clean and well tended but it wasn’t quite warm enough weather for me!

Convenient but not a nice area
Reviewed By TravelTrax1Building looks nice and the apartments are well kept and clean. Located on an industrial estate there is a lot of lorry noise but there is a view to the hills behind. The walls and ceilings are very thin, so there is a lot of noise from other rooms. Many rooms seemed to be lived in more permanently, so people seemed to be going out to work early every morning, and making a lot of noise. The bed was very uncomfortable and so coupled with the noise levels we did not sleep well at all. On the plus side, the rooms are in good condition and clean, with a well equipped kitchen, new bathroom fittings and lots of towels. There is heating / air conditioning, TV and it was furnished well. There is a big car park but the security gates were never closed. The staff were very friendly and the location near to the centre of Gemenos and the surrounding hills, makes this a good base for walking and exploring the lcoal area.

Beautifully restored Provencal Chateau
Reviewed By Hulot_HolidaysThis beautiful old chateau has been carefully restored by the owners to create a haven of calm in an unexpected place - once you have found the house, you will be delighted. A warm welcome, cool rooms, contemporary bathrooms, delicious breakfast and a great swimming pool to cool off in after a day in the sunshine. There is a good choice of restaurants in Gémenos and from here you can head west to Marseille, north to Aix en Provence or down to the seaside at Cassis or Bandol.
