We loved the patio above the creek. We used the shuttle so didn't have to look for parking in town. Food and beverages were very affordable! King bed in large room. Everything was clean and comfortable.

Our stay was great. The staff went above and beyond to accommodate us. We had a king suite on the 3rd floor and it did not disappoint. We ate at FLYT and Guadalajara. The wait staff was excellent at both restaurants. They do charge $15 a day for parking but they give free play to off set the charges. I would recommend it.

Holiday Inn Quality

I wanted to stay at this hotel because I wanted to learn about the history of the building, when it was built and what it was used for from back around 1900 to 1973, what was part of the original building and what was added on. So I figured what better way to learn about it than to stay in it. It is a little confusing and inconvenient to stay at the hotel back inside the casino. You will need to walk through much of the casino and go up a couple elevators. There is no one to ask where the front desk is but there are signs. You can park by the front door when you get there (between the casino entrance and by the parking ramp entrance) and then amble around through the casino until you find it.

SpringHill Suites by Marriott Deadwood

Rude, degrading, unparalleled level of unprofessional staff and management

Reviewed By kristincE4650MB

o NOT stay at this SpringHill Suites. I am a Marriott Bonvoy member/VISA holder and stay probably monthly at a Marriott property. The front desk was less than friendly the entire stay; but then I got charged $40 at checkout for makeup on wash clothes (you know the things you use to wash your face) which has never happened at any hotel, ever. I explained that 1) this never happens 2) hotels use white linens so they can bleach for this purpose 3) it will literally rinse out. The manager told me it wouldn’t. I told her to bring me the towels as I would be there for 30 minutes anyway while my husband finished a conference call. The housekeeping staff did bring down the towels after about 15 minutes (snickering at me during the process) and I did the job of washing the laundry in a bathroom with an automatic faucet (not a washing machine, laundry detergent or bleach) the manager reluctantly agreed to refund $35 for the bath towel and one washcloth but charged $5 for another washcloth which I took pictures of that has a faint mark that if you know laundered in a machine, with bleach/detergent would likely come out. Let’s bear in mind that they didn’t apologize that I was indeed right and it did wash out- or rather rinse as I didn’t have access to detergent or bleach. They didn’t state they were “wrong”….nothing. Do yourself a favor and stay at the attached Hilton instead if you’re heading to the Casino. Attached you will see a picture of the washcloth they made me take home for $5; washed once. In a residential machine, without bleach. When I reached out to corporate Marriott the response I got was…”Hello Kris. We support the hotel’s efforts to address these issues and do not feel the situation rises to a level requiring compensation. While we understand this is not the response you were hoping for, we trust you understand our position. We again apologize for these unfortunate circumstances.” It should be noted the hotel made NO efforts to apologize or admit they were out of line; and I do feel like SOMETHING should be done to rectify being rude, laughing at a customer, being wrong and giving the customer the embarrassment of doing the hotels job of laundering towels in a lobby bathroom.

Parking Nightmare!

Reviewed By dkmcdermott

Overall hotel, staff and room were nice. However do not try to pull a trailer to Deadwood. The hotels should be telling people this instead of telling them there would be no problem parking a trailer. There is trailer parking at the Visitors center. However you cannot disconnect your trailer from your vehicle in Deadwood or it will be considered abandoned property and impounded. We had to pay a local business outside of the main town to let us store our trailer on their parking lot for the week. If we would of known the nightmare we would entail pulling our trailer, we would of chosen a different area to stay.

Nice place

Reviewed By Mary J

The Tru by Hilton, Deadwood, is very nice and very large complex. The whole complex is really Cadillac's Jack's and there are two other Hilton hotels on the property. There are several restaurants and fast food places, along with pizza. Marco's Pizza and Earl of Sandwich are both good places to eat and reasonably priced. Breakfast was really very good, with pancakes from a machine that you wave your hand across and out pops two good pancakes, freshly made. Breakfast also had eggs, sausage, cereal, juice, etc. Just beware that they do charge $15.00 per night for parking, although one of the parking lot was underground and secured with a garage type door. (Appeared super safe). Lots of casino type games available and seemed fairly busy. The room was very clean and I loved the shower in the bathroom(rather than the tub/shower combo). Huge tv, nice views from windows...really a lovely stay.
