Overpriced, Many facilities not open

Reviewed By F4708TVbeckyh

Upon arrival at the Erin Blanc we were very pleased, The reception staff were most accommodating, showing us up to our room etc. we were given a 'free upgrade' to the Family suite. This was however charged to us at the rate of 50 euros per day despite us not agreeing the extra cost. We are still awaiting an email response back regarding this, and claiming a refund from our credit card. Also on day 2 of our arrival (of a 2 week stay) we were told that the kids club was no longer operational, also the room service due to lack of staff (end of season) Had this been known prior to check in we would NOT have booked this hotel. With a small child and local restaurants not open until 7pm room service was a MUST for us as a family. Paying a premium rate, being overcharged and not having been made aware that the facilities we initially booked this hotel for being out of action made our stay very difficult. Our bathroom was very worn, tiles falling off walls, sink smelling awful, I bought a bottle of bleach to pour down. Not acceptable, cleaning staff never washed the floor the entire 2 week stay. It was dirty and there were sticky patches from the previous occupants. DO NOT STAY at this hotel after March if you require the services of a 4 star hotel, this is a 3 star at best.

Very good Apartments in Great Locaton

Reviewed By jackpV3821CB

I stayed in the Chalets du Forum Apartments in March 2022 and had some reservations based on the mixed reviews I read before the trip but overall was very happy with the accommodation. The location of the apartments is excellent. They are centrally located in Courchevel 1850 and about a 2 minute walk to the main ski lifts. The apartment itself was fairly modern and appeared clean and well maintained. The kitchen had everything you would need. The included wifi was reliable. The reception staff appeared to be friendly. I had read some reviews about peoples skis being stolen from the locker room. But the locker room appeared very secure - maybe they've changed it. The locker room area is accessed with a code and within the room each apartment has its own fairly large locker that is locked with your apartment key. Some minor complaints I would have: 1. Check in time is after 5pm but check out time is 10am - this just seems unreasonable. 2. Very little sound insulation in these rooms. You can hear everything on the road outside. Its not a very busy road but I was woken frequently by people making noise outside in the middle of the night. 3. At certain times the shower was very hard to use - alternating continuously from very warm to freezing - this appeared to be at times when other apartments may also have been using their showers. Overall though I was very happy with these apartments and I think they represent excellent value for money at this price for this location.

Le Chabichou

Le Chabichou is, primarily, the history of a family associated with that of an alpine resort. A story that begins when Maryse and Michel Rochedy purchase, in 1963, a modest establishment in Courchevel. More than 50 years later, Le Chabichou boasts 4 stars hotel accommodation, a two Michelin star restaurant and has just joined the Relais & Chateaux network. Add to this spectular establishment a "Bistronomique" restaurant and a 1100m² spa for your wellbeing. Throughout its development Le Chabichou has successfully maintained the same warmth and family spirit for which it is renowned in France and overseas.

A heavenly gastronomic experience

Reviewed By Malman369

It has been an aim to try as many of the Michelin starred restaurants as possible that this resort (Courchevel 1850) has to offer but I have to admit, the creme de la creme of all of these is Le Chabichou! What an utter culinary delight! The food was delectable, the service incomparable, the staff so welcoming and friendly (and a special mention for Niko and Emmanuel). This is a gastronomic experience not to be missed!

Enjoyable stay in refurbished Hotel

Reviewed By donalsw19

I last stayed here a number of years ago when I would have described it as ‘tired’. Pleasantly surprised that the owner, Bruno, and his family still own it and have spent a considerable sum in modernisation. Gone is the Pool Table to be replaced by a Open-view kitchen and there now is a large restaurant open to everyone, serving excellent food and under the management of Bruno’s son. Food and service was excellent albeit the menu choice is limited but appropriate. The rooms have been totally refurbished with en-suite bath/shower. Excellent idea as the bath is a must after a long day skiing. Buffet Breakfast was excellent with lots of freshly made delicious croissants and pastries to complement the choice of cereals and hot breakfast. The bar area was very pleasant and well stocked Above all, there is still the very welcoming atmosphere from Bruno and his family. Great to see the family tradition continuing here. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel. DD

Fantastic location & great friendly staff

Reviewed By Polly S

The staff at the Mercure are delightful. Special thanks to Vanya on reception, who was utterly gorgeous and made us feel so welcome, and nothing was too much trouble. The waitressing staff were also friendly and helpful. Thank you to the very kind lady who helped to get my car started after a flat battery when we left. The location was fantastic, ski in and out was easy.

Potentially good but.......

Reviewed By David H

After careful thought we booked this hotel for a holiday involving three generations of our family. It is impossible to fault its position in this lovely small result which leads into the Courcheval lift system. Prior to arrival we made it clear that we wanted parking and had a high campervan. We also made it clear we wanted evening meals to fit with our grandchildren. About ten days before arrival we were told there was no evening kitchen service. It took several E mails to find out their kitchen staff had left en mass. On arrival We were told they had a found a chef but....... Shall we just say we only ate in on one evening?. It was annoying to be told several times I could use their car park when I tried and was prevented by their own height barrier. We were happy to park in the public car park but it added to our frustration to see a parking charge on the final bill together with meals never taken. It appears the management and administration are not up to standard. This is sad since the hotel has potential. Using the "end of season" as an excuse is not very professional especially when all facilities were advertised as being available..

Family skiing holiday

Reviewed By Naturexotique

The hotel is well located and the decor welcoming. A few things would have led to a much higher rating. First, there was an unpleasant odour in the shower room which I brought to the attention of the reception, but the odour continued and no one made the effort to update me on what actions had been taken - I had to ask, but it was not resolved. Second, in the bathroom the body cream was in the shower and the hair conditioner by the basin and the conditioner Third, the reception staff, while courteous, did not provide a warm welcome. It would have made a massive difference to simply say good morning or good evening and ask how the skiing was, etc. It felt as though the guest was a burden.

Helpful team and comfortable

A small and nice hotel, only real issue was the heating which seemed to be on all the time and took a couple of days for our suite to cool down so keep that in mind. Nice outlook over the street and up to the mountain and location wise perfect with only a 2 min walk to the main lift. Comfy, friendly, nice bar and great to have a hot tub in the bathroom to ease aching muscles, walk in rain shower as well. Lots of towels, closet space and a nice sitting room where with some help I plugged in my own media as well. Our friends were on same floor and complained of hearing booming music at night, we didnt have this, so be aware some rooms seem to get music from the two clubs adjacent to the hotel

Hotel des Trois Vallees

Built in the early 1950s as a skiers’ hostel, the Hotel helped pave the way for the Courchevel dream. Ideally located on the slopes and the Croisette, it embodies a vision of modernity linked to the pioneers of French design and the furniture of Jean Prouvé and Charlotte Perriand, who built the Courchevel legacy and invented the framework of winter sports. The art of living in the mountains is fully reflected in the authenticity of this Alpine chalet. With 31 large rooms, a gourmet grocery shop, a relaxation bath and a spa, les 3 Vallées is a modernist hotel at heart, offering refined luxury with the resort’s chic boutiques and nightlife. Outstanding hotel with the most amazing staff!

Reviewed By KarenKendallreviews

We stayed at this hotel between 2nd April- 8th April 2022. I just cannot express enough how the staff, and our stay at this hotel made our entire holiday. When we arrived after having been severely delayed they were waiting for us outside the hotel to take our cases in. I was then offered fresh milk and teabags to make a cup of tea in my room, and told that a table was waiting for us in the restaurant when we were ready to eat. I was travelling on my own with my three children, so was slightly apprehensive, but I could not have asked for more. Breakfast was fabulous, and we enjoyed our evening hot chocolate‘s next to the fire in the lounge with heavy snow outside. When we were heading out for evening meals in the snow the hotel minivan and driver dropped us where we wanted to go, and arranged to pick us up again. The views were just sensational, we had interconnecting rooms and my eldest son had a view of the village and we could see the main slopes, and I had a view straight onto the slopes, with a lovely balcony. Are used the spa every day, there is a very large spa pool / plunge pool and sauna. Robes and fresh towels and slippers are all provided. The hotel was able to arrange the ski passes for us from reception, and in the boot room we had everything we needed from the on-site ski shop. The staff here were also amazing and each day helped to put on the children’s boots and when we were ready to leave our skis were on a rack outside ready to go. We had unexpected good weather and we are able to buy suncream in the shop, and the children were also given chocolate eggs each morning for their snack which was a lovely touch ! This hotel is ski to your door so we simply stepped outside and were able to ski down to La Crossiette were the main cable cars to access both Courchevel and the three valleys were 30 seconds away! It was as easy to ski back to the door directly, or with children or less experienced skiers or if you missed the turning it is easy to get a button lift from the centre to ski back to the door. However, as the title alludes the jewell in the crown of this hotel was its staff. Sylvie Was amazing and literally couldn’t do more to help us from booking restaurants to giving an advice on where to go with the children. Camille was also wonderful both at breakfast and at dinner. The other staff were just as superb although I cannot remember their names! They genuinely made our holiday, and our children were welcome at all times. I am a discerning traveller and have stayed in many five-star hotels across the road, but this hotel was up there and in fact in many ways above these for its personal service! I cannot wait to stay there again, and certainly will next year!

The hotel took my deposit for 2 rooms for the 2021 skiing season. This skiing season was cancelled due to COVID in the whole of France. I agreed to roll over my deposit to the 2022 skiing season. But than I was denied any booking by the hotel. Subsequent to that I was promised a refund by the hotel manager dated “by the end of April 2022 “ ( in writing) and I have not received. I consider it a theft. Not to mention a numerous emails , telephone calls , all this wasted time, empty promises. Stalling a resolution of the issue and outried lying by the reservation guy called Michael and now using a position of power by the manager Mr Aubry. Maybe I give it to you or maybe I don’t . Disgusting .. “business model” . In the even if any cancellation or outside forces like COVID you can say “good buy” to your money. Regards Marek
