Reviewed By MAM0014This is our second time at the hotel. We enjoyed it so much in November that we decided to return for spring break. The staff are super attentive and they had some great attention to details that made our stay wonderful. The first time we stayed the kids had a special welcome with small water bottles and a kids appropriate snack. This time it was my husband’s birthday so he got some chocolates. The kids especially loved breakfast the first time with all the homemade pasteries. Unfortunately this time breakfast was a bit of a disappointment. No longer homemade pastries but junk you can get at the supermarket. Also on our last day when the hotel was full- they clearly weren’t accustomed to breakfast for so many people so you could feel the chaos. The spa area was nice at the end of a day of hiking and sight seeing. We would probably come back but hotel management should be careful about the quality of breakfast if they want to charge 68euros for a family of four.

Reviewed By Cork67Arrived at this beautiful hotel after a 30 km walk. The welcome was wonderful with incredible views from the terrace. The rooms are spotless and the lady who owns the hotel washed our muddy boots which were returned like new - such kindness! Would highly recommend this hotel & thank you for a wonderful stay

Very Friendly Quaint Hotel
Reviewed By Bob EWe stayed for one night whilst walking the Camino Norte. This is quaint in a traditional Spanish way, for us, it has the best of the Camino experience. The room was spacious, beautiful decorated, modernised but keeping the quaintness of the historical building. It had beautiful gardens for relaxing, we didn't use them but gave a lovely view from our room window. The breakfast, served in the hotel cafe was excellent in a very friendly atmosphere.

Reviewed By jessicapc2018Found it difficult to understand about any of the facilities i.e what time breakfast is served and where as there was no information anywhere in any other languages. We were going to use the mini bar in our room but found the drinks in there were out of date by several years. We then used the vending machine in reception to find the chocolate was also out of date. We tried to tell the host but couldn’t make ourselves understood. Found breakfast laid out in the cafeteria the next morning but all the fresh food was covered in flies. Saying that the location is lovely and the room was comfortable.

No problem for the patient staff member at the desk--she was quick to give us our room keys, pointed us to the closest restaurant/bar and we were good to go. We could not believe how large our room was with a modern hotel bathroom with walk-in shower and great towels. The helpful front desk woman also arranged resolved a transportation issue for us the next morning and was very attentive to our every need. This was summer high season and the room rate was reasonable. Great stay!

The staff were very helpful and our room was very comfortable and clean. We had dinner at their restaurant also with a great selection to choose from, I have recommended this hotel to my friends now they are choosing to walk the Camino de Santiago this year.

Camino stop off point
Reviewed By DavidA902Staff do speak English. The hotel has a letter missing on the signage outside. Do NOT let this put you off. The hotel inside smells fragrant. It is clean and it is tidy and the rooms are fresh and warm as well as spacious. My room has a shower but no bath. Water is hot. There is a vending machine in the public areas and a restaurant (closed during my stay in March 2019). This is a small town but is close to museum and natural facilities like beaches. I would recommend it. It is certainly not expensive in the low season for pilgrims on the Camino de Santiago to use. I was impressed with the hotel. It does not have a lot of public area.

Reviewed By topnotch64My self and two friends stayed here for two nights in May 18 and was bowled over with the upgrade as I have stayed here before, the bathroom is exceptional and loved it, the owners are such nice people, even gave us all a lift to nearest town for food as we were on motorcycles, for two nights and picked up, my dream hotel with very reasonable rate, WELL DONE. I AM HOPING IT WONT BE FULL NEXT TIME I BOOK.

Reviewed By Steph_FR-BEThis hotel may not suit everyone’s need or taste but fitted our needs and matches the description on Booking and Tripadvisor. Our room for 4 was large and furnished with old wooden furniture. The doors and floors are noisy and creaky as you may expect from an hold building. The hotel located 7 km away of twisted road from Colunga, the best access to the hotel. The other two roads are 15 and 22 km of twisted mountain roads. The wifi did not reach our room but we could enjoy the calm of the patio while being connected. We did enjoy our stay there.
