Reviewed By atimeframeAfter a long day of driving through Kansas, my advise is to continue on and not stay in Colby. I cannot believe this is a Days Inn and is so overly priced for accommodations. The Manager/Owner at the front desk is rude and abrupt. The security door is not a security door. The walls and ceiling are thin and at 11 p,m. "Thumper" arrived in the room above us. So much for getting any rest. Even though this motel is 4 down from I-70 you can still hear the semi-trucks downshifting. Also, a little side note....there is no dry ice in Colby, KS. Poor mattresses, if you don't mind sleeping on top of your partner, everyone rolls to the center!! Not the best hospitality. Move on.

Liked It So Much We Chose It on Return Trip
Reviewed By Rozthegreat_powerfulStayed here twice coming and going to Utah. Easy access from freeway. Ample parking. Restaurants, fast food places, gas stops close at hand. (We did not use the breakfast area in the hotel.) Pleasant staff. Our room turned out to be a handicapped room because we requested 2 queen beds and that was the only room available, which suited us fine. Large bathroom, plenty of space to spread out open luggage, responsive temperature controls, quiet and clean. The television could be pulled from the wall and rotated for viewing from anywhere in the room, and our Amazon fire stick plugged in easily for streaming services.

Motel is an outdoor property featuring 33 rooms at best rates in Colby, KS. Completly refurbished in 2012. Comfort and amenities of a franchise motel at budget rates. Continental breakfast including waffles assorted pastries, cereal, milk, juice and coffee from 6.30 am to 9 am every morning. Free high speed internet access in rooms and common areas. 32" flat screen TVs in most rooms. Free use of computer and free fax/copies in lobby. Self parking in front of room. Free RV and truck parking available. Children 12 and under stay free with paying adult. Laundry service provided and pets allowed for a small fee. Non smoking rooms available. Golf, tennis, swimming, boating, restaurants, shopping nearby. Management strives very hard to make your stay very pleasant, comfortable and memorable. Satisfaction Guaranteed at "your home away from home".

Reviewed By Percival HAs for the motel itself, you get what you pay for… sort of. My wife and I stayed here twice. The first we chanced while traveling during the warm weather months and it was adequate for a quick overnight stay with the room being reasonably clean and well maintained. Our second stay was during February. For both visits, we had booked our rooms in advance through one of the on-line booking services. I don’t recall on the first stay but we were asked to present our credit card when we checked in for the second stay which we didn’t think anything of as this often occurs at any motel when checking in. We were assigned the same room we had on our previous visit and it hadn’t changed except that it was just barely warm enough to keep the plumbing from freezing. We cranked the heat and the small window style HVAC struggled to warm the room, not warming to a comfortable temperature until early the following morning. You pays your money and you takes your chances and we moved on the next day making a note to avoid this motel in the winter. When we received our credit card statement, however, we found that we’d been charged both by booking.com and the motel. We first contacted the motel to resolve the issue but the manager rudely refused to do anything about it and told us to take it up with booking.com. Booking.com also failed to resolve the matter though they were more friendly and professional about it. We had to dispute the charge with our bank to finally be credited for the second charge. Can’t recommend this motel enough if you enjoy shivering or spending time on the phone with customer service.

Reviewed By J9159SDkristibWe have stayed at this hotel several times, and in the beginning it was "OK" It is a convenient stop for us between Texas and South Dakota. We stayed once last year and it was a little Iffy, with strange smells, hair in the bathroom, etc. but we let it slide due to staff shortages caused by COVID. We tried again last week, and know we will NOT stay here again. The desk clerk had no clue how to properly check someone in, then was rude when questioned. The room stunk, bathroom was dirty, TV did not work, AC would not run nor keep temperature. Had we not just driven 12 hours and totally exhausted, we would've left for another hotel. We travel a lot, with an average of 20-25 hotel stays a year. This Comfort Inn is extremely out of date, and poorly staffed and filthy. We like Comfort Inn and will continue to stay in the brand, but NOT at this particular location..... Also, just to note- we always get a review request after every hotel stay, but funny thing, we never got one for this stay!! Something to ponder, it is almost as if they know there is an issue, and do not want to ask for opinions! Stay here at your own risk!

Reviewed By cherinauuThis was the dirtiest, most disgusting place we’ve ever stayed in. The bathtub had dirt, scum, and rings around it. This was the first time I felt cleaner not showering. I slept in my clothes. Had my husband not been exhausted we would have left even though there were no other rooms in town! I would have slept in my vehicle first. Don’t stay here, you’ll be disgusted too.

Those are simple edits to make. Look at these photos, how do you prey on people with such a low "quality" establishment? You lure people with discount non-refundable rate through 3rd parties & don't provide the SPECIFIC TWO things I searched for & why I chose to book here. That's completely dishonest &shameful. Hope you enjoyed my $100 for doing absolutely nothing while we went elsewhere to stay where my kids & I felt safe & comfortable. Disgraceful people. This Quality Inn in Colby Kansas is the lowest "quality" place I've ever paid for & nothing like other Choice Hotels properties. Booked a room while driving to Colorado because snow there made it unsafe to drive all the way there. Found the hotel online with search terms "pool" and "free breakfast," chose it literally because of the nice pool photos on the Choice Hotels website & 3rd party sites currently STILL being advertised. It is actually terrible and I didn't feel safe staying there alone with my 2 young kids. I thought it was the wrong place and maybe closed because of how damaged and empty the exterior is. HOLES in the roof, missing shingles, weeds, broken sign, run down, no cars in the lot. As soon as I walked in to verify it's even open, I see the pool door blocked, it's completely empty. I booked it through Snap travel, called them twice. They told me the hotel had to agree to refund me, the hotel front desk person told me that snap travel had to refund me because they have not received any payment. I was taken advantage of -- false advertising online on all sites and sending me in circles. We were tired and just wanted to relax and swim. My two young kids were in the car, my son crying, all they wanted to do was swim since we couldn't keep driving to Colorado. THEN I later saw all the recent bad reviews about terrible quality, black mold, wet floors, filthy, lies, etc. My mistake trying to drive and also reserve a safe, affordable place for $100 online, trusting what I'm shown in amenities photos. DO NOT TRUST their listing details or photos -- it's a sham. READ RECENT reviews and save your money -- GO ELSEWHERE! I promise you wouldn't let your mom or sister stay there alone with 2 young kids. ** Hey social media team giving the canned replies--don't bother. Read the other recent reviews. Look at my photos. There's dishonest activity taking advantage of people here. Shame on all of you.

The place is the cheapest you’ll find, which we needed for a quick stop for the night on our road trip. The area is safe and cute, and has a nearby grocery store, gas stations, and fast food places for a traveler, as well as several fields, dog parks, and playgrounds if you have kids or dogs with you. The three points is only for the location and how nice the owner was, otherwise I’d give it a 2. Cons: The place is really old run down, which you can expect for the price. It’s also REALLY dirty, stained sheets and stained carpets, some dirt in the bed. If you’re not a germaphobe, you can probably handle it. We had an extra pair of sheets in the car we used, and were only there for 8 hours. Pick your poison, cheap or clean?
