Reviewed By PennWinchesterI was travelling down through France with a friend to run an English Bookshop in St Antonin Noble Val in the Aveyron Valley and stayed for a night at this stunning chateau. The internal impression of the chateau is more appealing than the outside and the whole place has been lovingly restored over the past 14 years by a delightful Dutch couple. The owner could not have been more helpful and was happy to share her challenge of the restoration and her true desire to make this something very special. The rooms are spacious and elegant and decorated in the period of the chateau with exceedingly comfortable beds and excellent bathrooms with good quality toiletries and towels. We booked into the restaurant for the gourmand dinner and it was without doubt the best meal I have had for years. We had a fabulous table overlooking the parkland and the black sheep and the maitre d was exceptional. Knowledgeable about the food and choices, the wines, everything in fact. He was French but had worked in England and his English was impeccable. There is a wonderful terrace for breakfast and dinner and a great swimming pool. I was saddened that we were only spending one night at the Chateau as it would have been a blissful place to unwind and relax. There is no lift so not really suitable for those with disabilities, ample parking, quite easy to find using the sat nav and a good drop off point if you are heading south. I will certainly return. Don’t have too much to say about this place expect lack of sleep....my husband 1.80 cm having his feet hanging out from the tiniest bed I have ever seen in a hotel and poor quality pillows ( see foto below). So our “ Good morning” was back and neck aches for both of us ....considering that I’m 5 months pregnant and so at 4.30 am I was reading my book as I felt so reluctantly uncomfortable. What I am suggesting here is to provide bigger and comfortable beds and pillows to your guests, it’s important to get a good sleep and feeling rested : especially on holidays! Staff is very polite and a pretty pool to hang out .....Merci à vous ....Au revoir

Reviewed By michaelvUkChallans is pretty empty around Sunday lunch and this is one of the few places you can eat. It was very pleasantly laid out with friendly service. The food was very good, though on one pasta dish the sauce a little thin. We were also surprised cafe au lait didn't come with hotel milk. Nice friendly place to have lunch.

Reviewed By Karen HAs a family of 5 we were camping on an electric hook up for 11 nights. As far as camp sites go its fine. None of the staff speak Englsh so if this is going to be a problem, you may want to think twice. My children had been looking forward to to the kids club which is advertised but due to the staff not speaking any english it would not have been safe or fare to let them go. A bit noisy at night. It doesnt get quite until around midnight. Swimming pool was fair, and warm all the time we were there. Toilets and showers are dated , no toilet seats anywhere (i think this is a french thing) and they dont supply toilet role so bring your own. There are electric points so hair dryers etc can be used. Food very good and reasonably priced. Overall ok but I think next year we will look elsewhere.

Reviewed By Claude Dif you stay more than one night, they decide that they dont need to change the towels ? the breakfast layout is ok, but why not have a lid on the bacon and eggs - although the bacon was not worth having, as more fat than meat - picked up a tray but saw a bit of food on it, so put it aside and picked next one.... not clean at all, full of mug marks - someone needs to tell them to clean their trays !

Dans le nord ouest Vendéen, à deux kilomètres du centre de Challans et à quinze minutes des plages, dans une propriété boisée avec parking, nous vous proposons trois chambres d'hôtes confortables entièrement rénovées, classées 3 épis aux Gîtes de France. Nous mettons à votre disposition, une salle à manger commune aux trois chambres, avec possibilité de petite cuisine (frigo, plaques électriques, micro ondes, vaisselle). A l'ombre des chênes, vous pourrez profiter du barbecue et des tables de jardin.

Reviewed By PrinaudNous avons séjourné quelques jours au sein de l'établissement et nous avons beaucoup apprécié les lieux, l'accueil, la gentillesse des hôtes et la qualité des chambres. La ferme est très accueillante, un bar est à notre disposition, la piscine et le jacuzzi également. Notre chambre était très spacieuse avec tout le confort nécessaire, au calme. Claude et Brice sont gentils et prévenant, ils nous ont suggéré des visites. Nous recommandons sans hésiter !

Reviewed By Bolger1We were actually up the road at St Christophe du Lignerols where we were selling at a weekend Brocante, and rather stay on site camping, we decided we deserved a bit more simple comfort, and the Citotel fitted the bill nicely. A very comfortable room with all the expected amenities, including a really effective fan (it was soooo hot!) The owner was as helpful as we could have wanted, and very charming. We wanted simplicity, and we got it, so very happy indeed. The down side? Well we had a street side room, and despite double glazing, it got quite noisy, but the back might have been quieter. The free and very secure parking was a huge added bonus.

Quiet, friendly, good breakfast and good location
Reviewed By Eli758This B&B was really clean with a spacious bedroom and a separate bedroom for childrens. The swimming pool was really appreciated with the 30 degrees we had. It's located in a quiet and rural place just minutes away from Challans. It's very easy to travel to various attractions from there. The owners were very friendly and helpful. The typical home-made French breakfast was also a delight every morning. They have a secure parking, a large garden and Wi-Fi. We would happily go back there.
