Excellent location on the beach
Reviewed By PoddeOur ground floor studio was more or less located on the beach. We could see the waves from the bed. The beach is what makes this place special. Clear water, not too crowded and several restaurants and bars just a short flip flop walk away - and the hotel's own restaurang is very much OK. Bring with you what you would like to have in the fridge - you need a car to go to the nearest store.

Simple but very well run hotel
Reviewed By ProcacciaThe Saint Jean has only two stars, but it is worth much more. The lady who runs the place is efficient, courteous and helpful. The room is spotless clean, well maintained with air condition and private bathroom. The breakfast is good with a variety of foods to choose from, and very fresh croissant and petit pain au chocolat. The hotel has ample parking places nearby across the road. I found the stay in this hotel very agreeable.

Very charming owners who treat their guests as family members. Good quality rooms but extremely hot. No air-conditioning in the middle of summer and no real windows at the back of the bedroom other than a very large ceiling fan. Having said that, this was all reflected in the price. Situated in a very pleasant Corsican village however...

Simple hotel, nice owners
Reviewed By anglosuisseI stayed here a few days. The rooms are very simple, this being a 2 star hotel. Also the bathroom and shower are super basic, but everything is clean. My shower could have benefited from a proper holder for the shower sprinkler. There is an internet connection, but it's essentially useless, and works only intermittently. The food in the restaurant is very good. Great view of the ocean from the room. A plus is a nearby supermarket which is super convenient. In the evening the rooms can be a bit noisy as the noise from the restaurant and kitchen travels up the staircase.

My Corsica Apartment for a week
Reviewed By SabanA comfortable, charming air consigned apartment hotel. The pool is in the property across the road. It was private and comfortable about a 40 minute walk to the village. The best was Clara who manages the place. She has costumer service, American style down. She wonderful. The owners are so lucky to have her. I would stay there again if I visited.

GENTLE BREEZES ON A VERY HOT DAY
Reviewed By Roger EWalking round Cargese during a stop during our shore excursion, i came across, by chance, Bel Mare on the edge of the town and the sea. A quieter area than the centre and what a splendid view. There were tables on a balcony overlooking the steep descent to the sea and these were kept busy with platefuls of delicious looking food. I was there to sample some Corsical red wine and a good selection was available which I enjoyed.

La résidence Itylon, c'est une autre idée du luxe. Ici, rien de tape à l’œil et de clinquant. Quatorze mini villas nichées au milieu des fleurs et du maquis, sur un terrain arboré qui jouxte la superbe crique de Menasina , à l'entrée de Cargèse. Un confort discret (les petites maisons sont aménagées et idéalement espacées les unes des autres, chacune dispose d'une loggia et d'un barbecue; une piscine entourée de lauriers et d'oliviers est à disposition) met l'accent sur les plaisirs simples et l'authenticité. Jean et Isadora, jouent la carte de la décontraction : disponibles et sereins, ils ont su installer à Itylon une ambiance familiale et bon enfant. Séjourner à Itylon, c'est être un peu chez soi en vacances, dans un cadre idyllique et confortable, perdu dans une nature bienveillante. On se prend à fureter dans les recoins du jardin avant de prendre le petit chemin qui conduit à la plage. Un luxe simple, en somme, mais d'autant plus précieux.

We rented an apartment for 5 days, believing from the description that there was a residential hotel next door where we could eat if we didn't want to go further afield/ Not true. The owners no longer run the place as a hotel, and meals are available only if you specify when booking that you want demi-pension. No thanks! The decor is dated and the bathroom smelled of mould. On the plus side, the apartment was reasonably spacious, the kitchen functional, and the view from the west facing balcony superb (over the plage de pero). The outdoor pool is a decent size. There are good places to eat on the beach and in the village, but nothing less than 15 minutes walk away. The welcome we received was cool to say the least. I will not be returning to this domaine, but I would love to visit the plage de pero again.

Reviewed By emmalbertoNice hotel in Cargese, 3 stars ok (not more). Very kind personnel, clean room and breakfast ok. The pool area is nice and clean. A very nice element is the proximity to the beach, 100 meters and you are on the beach with few nice restaurants.

Reviewed By pascal cThe hotel location is perfect and the owners are kind and welcoming people. Breakfast is basic yet you find anything you need with very good products, bread, brioche and croissants are really good. The hostess even prepare some light plates for simple evening dinners, even if paillotes are close by on the beach for lunch and dinner this option is much appreciated when you want to keep it simple. Rooms are comfy and very clean. The direct access to the beach definitely makes the difference. Also in case you doubt, the lack of swimming pool is not at all an issue.
