Nice little hotel outside of old town
Reviewed By MariaDavidRobinsonStayed just one night to break up a long road trip so didn't really sample hotel's facilities or food. Rooms nice and modern with nice bathrooms. Beds very comfy. Our room had a little balcony which you could stand on (but not sit). About 5-6 parking spaces in hotel car park, but plenty of on-street parking right outside the hotel. The old town is a very steep walk from the hotel, but we drove and there is a large free car park on edge of old town. However there are also several eating establishments close by. Note the reception closes at 9pm, so if you are going to be later than that you need to notify them (Expedia say 7:30pm - this is incorrect)

They have the typical European accommodations (narrow elevators, small lobby/reception, etc.). The nearest parking is some distance away, so best if you’re not driving to the hotel ?. The rooms were clean, bathrooms large. Most of the tours start nearby and some great cafes and restaurants nearby. We went for a nice stroll to the nearby palace, and many riverside/park side areas. The restaurant rows are on the way...very convenient!

Reviewed By halibuts67At the end of a one-week cycle touring trip, we stayed one night and were pleasantly surprised by the huge, clean room (very calm, off the back; probably very recently renovated?), the lovely evening meal and great breakfast buffet (crucial for full day bike rides). Everyone was friendly and the atmosphere was very relaxed & relaxing. The owner (& chef) is also a keen cyclist & gave us really useful information. Our bikes were quite safe overnight in a separate locked garage. Wish we'd brought our swimming kit! We'd definitely return to this hotel. *We also especially appreciated the seriousness with which COVID guidelines were followed by all staff (mask-wearing, hand sanitizer).

La seule chose qui soit importante est de profiter de ce lieu magique et du bien-être que son confort vous prodigue.16 chambres tout confort, dont 6 familiales sont à votre disposition ainsi qu'une roulotte grand confort, et une Cabane dans les arbres avec son Spa.

Reviewed By Jo PEnjoyed our stay in La Tomette, breakfast excellent, staff very friendly. Room compact but spotlessly clean. Grounds well very well laid out to create “ rooms “. Large covered pool, several areas for sitting. I found the bed very hard which is why I marked it down, we had a bit of a drain smell in the bathroom too. Vitrac is a charming village, very picture postcard !

A hotel to feel at home! Hotel Aurena is located 5 minutes from the city center. With 52 spacious rooms that can accommodate up to 4 people, with an area of 15m2 and a mezzanine for box spring adventurers! But that's not all ! On the large patio, games for children, board games and a library are available, as well as picnic tables and a swing outside. No want to go out to eat, no problem! A small shop selling local products is open and available when reception opens. But what to do in Aurillac? There are of course the unmissable activities of full nature with hiking in the mountains, skiing, cycling, swimming in the lake ...; but also cultural activities with a visit to Aurillac, the discovery of the various castles and of course the street theater festival in August; but our favorite is the discovery of the gastronomic products so rich in Cantal (Truffade, pounti, tripoux, Cantal ...).

Reviewed By Sweetcheeks30We literally booked this hotel hours before arriving and couldn’t fault it for the price we paid. There is no restaurant for an evening meal however reception kindly booked a table for us. The breakfast area is the central hub of the hotel, great price and reasonable choice - ie good for the price paid. The best part of the hotel for us was the children’s play area next to the breakfast area. Lots of toys for little ones and kept our little one entertained last night and this morning! Final positive dog friendly!

Worth the detour
Reviewed By carlp908Fantastic two day stay in a real castle, small part of heaven within walking distance of Aurillac. Really worth every penny spent. The lot ( two hectares of garden and woods) the silence, the furniture , the breakfast ... but above all, the owners are two characters above the average!

Perfect for a one night stop on the road, friendly staff. Very good value for the money. Nice restaurant close by la Mangoune with local specialties.

An unusual Ibis
Reviewed By John LFortunately, the staff make this Ibis, the reception and dining staff were exceptional, because it is an unusual Ibis... there is no lift/elevator and the stairs are not for the less agile with heavy bags although the young man at reception did offer to carry ours up. We were given a room on the ground floor, not far from reception. The room was your standard Ibis although there were no tissues in ours... there is parking outside the front of the hotel but very little of it so you need to get in early. We ate at a nearby local restaurant (can't remember the name) recommended by reception and did all right. And we had an excellent and welcome nightcap at the bar before turning in. The town is about five minutes away by car but not easily accessible when we went because of roa works.

The care and attention to detail that the owners bring to this hotel is obvious and it certainly pays off. We loved it here and would thoroughly recommend it.
