We're in the city center of bergerac, so you will have eveything near the hotel. (shopping, museum, wine shops and restaurants) At night reception close at 10pm and after that you will have to use the digicode to get in the hotel. So please for any late ckeck in, call the hotel before to get the access code. For car parking, you have a paying public car park just in front of the hotel or if you prefer, we have a privat car park with limited spaces, it's better to book it with your room and it will cost per night. Please note the car park is closed during night time, so no access to it.

Reviewed By swissgirl_7The hotel is situated within walking distance of the Bergerac city centre. It has private parking for a modest fee. The rooms are functional and clean, and with respect to corona measures I felt very safe. It’s difficult to review hotels at this time as corona measures limit the decorative touches and everything is very minimalistic. We also had to place our used towels in bags provided by the hotel. However, the welcome, the kindness, the warmth of the front desk, the personnel in the breakfast area and housekeeping is what made this stay special. We had a very modest room, if we return I’d take something a little more expensive as the bathroom was quite cramped. Would definitely return, bed was comfortable and the breakfast spread was varied and generous. Above all, a good team, running this team make all the difference.

Reviewed By Chris NA pleasant surprise when we were allocated this hotel for a night after our Ryanair flight from Bergerac airport was cancelled . It is 5 mins from airport . The staff were welcoming and friendly to this mass influx of tired and frustrated fellow travelers. The standard of accommodation is up to Premier Inn or Novotel . There is a bar with a lot of ambiance , a swimming pool and a restaurant with indoor and outside tables . The room was of a reasonable size with air con , tea making , comfortable beds with good linen and soft pillows so we had a good nights sleep . The bathroom had a bath with shower, soap and soft towels , plus hairdryer . Continental breakfast was as expected ,self service with croissants, pain au chocolate , A few cheese and meat selection ,bread and jams, yoghurt, juice and machine made coffee. Very adequate but not up to Novotel forUK full English breakfast , but good for a night stay. The hotel is in the Logis chain of recommended places that are value for money .

Our room was simple but nice, but the selling point is the really nice location and the garden surrounding the hotel. Here you can meet the charming hen visiting you while you take your aperitive, you met the occasional baby deer walking by, and meet with the pigs and piglets in their generous compound. The swimming pool, surrounded by well-kept trees and hedges, invites for a relaxing swim. Last but not least we found the staff very charming and helpful.

Reviewed By jasonfC4615NOThe beds were clean and very comfortable once I’d asked for extra pillows. The rooms are quiet and functional. The worst part is that the shower is accessed directly from the room and not part of a separate bathroom. So you stepped out from the shower into the room. Staff were really helpful and spoke great English. Spare soap and towels were also helpful. Only 10 mins, by car from airport and 10 mins into Bergerac itself. Literally everything you need is within walking distance as a massive Supermarket is next door. Buffalo Grill next door too. Stopped for 2 nights with teenagers hence the shower issues. Perfect for 2 adults and a small child for a stopover. Anything more isn’t as favourable. Cheap, clean, functional with superb staff.

Reviewed By regulardiner12017Booked in for 2 nights but left, without refund, after the first night. Woken early by staff entering our room and workmen clearing all the rooms around us of furniture. The room was OK but we were caught in the middle of a major refit which should have closed the place. If we had known this we would have booked elsewhere. Matters were madr worse but the failure of the chef to turn up for work and the onsight restaurant was not available. Staff were not interested and seemed to think none of this was a problem.

From the moment you "access the grounds", you feel the graciousness of Dordogne hospitality. Our room was on the main floor. It was extremely well appointed with everything we would need. Highly recommend Ostal if you are heading to Bergerac.
