Good, Not Great

Come with extra $ in your pocket; the breakfast is more expensive than you imagine (but about as good as you imagine), and parking is WAY more expensive than you expect. It is a terrific location, though, so I suppose a little premium is to be expected --- so expect it! Note that the Rosslyn location means DC is really accessible . . . and you'll be sleeping, or trying to sleep, in the landing pattern for DCA.

Immaculate Homewood Suites honored Vietnam Veterans and their Families

Reviewed By kutterwd

The Angry Skippers, a Vietnam combat Veterans organization and their families were honored and received a very warm welcome at the Homewood Suites by Hilton Hotel in Rosslyn, Va from 7-12 May. The group had over 125 Room nights there. The General Manager, Ms. Shiela Shresta was superb in having the entire staff go out of their way to accommodate our group - and made everyone feel welcome, deeply appreciated, and honored our services to the nation. It could not have been done better.! This hotel sparkles " immaculate," cares for its guests, and has a superb common area with a Food and Beverage Manager who does a great job. Add to that a Deputy General Manager, Mr Will Davies - who could be reached at ANY time to resolve minor issues and facilitate getting our Veterans to the The Vietnam Memorial Wall and to the AUSA Conference Center. Kudos to him! Our entire Group of Veterans that hosted our Never Forgotten 34 Combat soldiers' families to memorialize their untimely death on 10 May 1972 - 50 years later - were all deeply appreciative of the manner in which the entire Homewood Suites Team was so caring and helpful. In short - I highly recommend this property to Veteran and First Responder groups and their families.

Great location for business in the DCA area. Walking distance to full service Harris Teeter grocery. Connects to the Renaissance Hotel for full service restaurant and bar. Residence had just resumed breakfast when I stayed in early May—good selection, well stocked. Front desk service was great and helpful for local information. My room was very clean and I did use the kitchen for 1 meal that I made.

Best Experience, Shikeeb (Manager) was wonderful!

Reviewed By F7704JUtravisb

We flew into DC for a night, before heading to Annapolis for a wedding. We had only one night at the Double Tree DC/Crystal City.. and wish we could have stayed there the entire trip/extended our stay because of how AMAZING the service was. The location rocks, it’s so close to Reagan and DC. Shikeeb at the front was excellent. He was friendly and asked our reason for visiting. I’d lived in the DMV area for 10+ years, my girlfriend had only visited once. Shikeeb immediately said she needed to experience the best, and that we were “his guests tonight”—proceeding to upgrade our King room, which would have been fine for 1 night, to a corner suite with an incredible view of DC. Capitol, Wash monument, Jefferson memorial, etc. all from a huge terrace with a dining table and lounge chairs. The room.. holy cow, it was bigger than most apartments. Living room, dining room, separate bedroom and huge bathroom. Unreal, and breathtaking view. Shikeeb even recommended nearby restaurants and gave us personal vouchers that would have saved us $$ with the GM at McCormick & Schmicks. They were closed unfortunately (we got in late), so we ate at the Lobby Bar on-site. The food was perfect. The bartenders and restaurant staff were super friendly, kept the kitchen open for us late (even though we were happy to go elsewhere and told them so, they insisted on feeding us and it not being an issue). LOVE this hotel for their team/staff, location, cleanliness, ease-of-enter/exit, and in general. We won’t be staying anywhere else, when we visit the DC area, especially anywhere near and around Reagan. Hands down one of the best experiences at any hotel we’ve stayed, and we travel a ton. We were treated like royalty, for no reason besides us being friendly, and the double tree team being rockstars! Thank you!!!

While perfectly located for me due to business reasons, I feel this hotel needs a face lift. I have stayed here on a previous trip & I was disappointed by the standard of the hotel & the service. As a IHG member, on check-in I thought I this would be acknowledged, and after travelling a long distance (international) I had thought that I would at the very least be offered a complimentary bottle of water. But alas it was not to be. The room was clean, it was comfortable, but offered little light so was a little dark & dreary. The IHG generally offer tea/coffee but there was none to be found. Indeed for a cuppa I needed to go into the on-site restaurant to see if they could provide some hot water. Which they did. The breakfast bar offers a good spread of food but to be honest for USD$30 I don’t feel this was good value, so try & book with complimentary breakfast. There is an on-site Starbucks which operates 7am-3pm weekdays, 7am-1pm weekends. It’s a busy little store. The gym is basic, but it is clean & while I visited not utilised. The hotel does offer conference rooms & while I visited there were many functions/conferences occurring. The free shuttle to/from the AP occurs every 1/2h and is quiet efficient. Would I stay here again, yes I would, if I couldn’t find a different hotel to suit my business meetings.

Updated rooms, convenient to DCA, still not fully up and running post-Covid

Reviewed By Erin74

I stayed at the Crystal Gateway Marriott twice between February and May of 2022 on business. Pros: updated and comfortable rooms, attractive lobby and restaurant area, helpful front desk staff, great proximity to DCA Cons: neighborhood is underwhelming with not much around, Crystal City shops nearby seem mostly vacant, things out of order around the hotel with no info on when they might be fixed (escalators, coffee machine in lobby) Overall, a comfortable place to stay, but the hotel is not walkable to anything interesting. You have to Uber/ take public transit to DC and much of Arlington, which is easy enough. The hotel seems like it's mostly recovered from Covid lows, and there is now both breakfast and dinner service in the restaurant, which is great. However, you have to request any housekeeping services or toiletries beyond the bare minimum, and certain critical things were not available (water in rooms, coffee anywhere in the hotel). If you're flying in/out of DCA, this hotel couldn't be more convenient, and I found my room and the public spaces pretty nice.

Nice, Convenient, but Not a Home-Run

Reviewed By MrGlen

I enjoyed the location of this property. I have stayed at other hotels in the area and this one was convenient to local shops and restaurants. The parking situation was adequate and fairly priced. This was my first time at this location and to stay on the executive floor, which offered no additional fringe benefits. There were not even bottled waters available in the room. The shower was exceptional and the bedding very comfortable. However, I was very disappointed in the size of the room and the very uncomfortable lounge chair that was in the room. Needless to say, I ended up having to use the bed for reading and computer work. It was not a very good choice of seating. I was very pleased that the air conditioner worked very well and kept the room very comfortable and cool.
