Beautiful hotel but not so nice surroundings
Reviewed By Trekker2020The hotel is beautiful and the staff ever helpful and professional. The rooms are absolutely fantastic. I would say this is one of the best properties in the region. The hotel is next to Boca, a large market like restaurant complex which is really nice. The only issue with the hotel is the location. This area is being upgraded but this will take some time and between the construction and the rough area around the hotel, it is enough for us to skip staying there next time. Pity, because this is a wonderful property, but it is an island of comfort in a very rough part of town.

Reviewed By kkbirdsNo really. I've stayed in 4-5 hotels in Arcachon now, and this is my new favourite! I questioned if I wanted to spend the extra for a sea view and I'm SO glad I did. Really great to sit on that terrace and stare at the sea while working, having morning coffee, etc. Rooms are large, beds are comfortable - dark and quiet for sleeping. Lots of little touches like bottled water by the bed, outlets / plugs in the right place, good toiletries, soft towels, fridge (for chilling rose wine of course :) Staff are lovely, breakfast was good. Parking is 17 euro a day and underground if you need it. LOVE! I'll be back.

Reviewed By HGA25Really liked the room and the hotel in general. Reception very helpful on a number of things. The bar has a super view of the river and is a very pleasant place to sit, especially the outdoor terrace. Avoid the unhelpful and not as good as it sounds Wallace bar upstairs though. The hotel is in a great location though you might not think so at first. It’s in a newer part of town just a short walk (10 mins) from the Cite du Vin and the tram stop. The B line there takes you into the old part of Bordeaux in just 10-15 minutes. There are loads of cafes, restaurants and bars close to the hotel, so it’s very convenient (but it’s not noisy in the rooms). I’ll definitely stay here again.

I think the real standout was the friendliness and consistency of the service, everyone on the team made me feel extremely welcome, proactively offering restaurant recommendations and additional services. The breakfast was lovely and small touches like cannelés in the room and turndown service were appreciated.

Excellent Customer Service and a Great Hotel
Reviewed By Everywhere37We stayed at the Hotel Windsor in September for several nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our oceanview room provided plenty of entertainment watching the surfers and we loved the sound of crashing waves as the background sound. The breakfast buffet was expansive and excellent and the front desk staff was very helpful each day. After returning to the US with some small presents, including a wonderful Basque sauce that we found at the Biarritz market, we knew we needed more because it disappeared so quickly, I emailed the Windsor & sent a photo of the empty bottle and asked if it would be possible to get more shipped to us. Imagine our surprise and happiness when we received an immediate reply saying yes! Fast forward and within a very short time we received the sauce! We appreciate the excellent and efficient customer service from Sophie, who single-handedly took care of our unusual request. She saw this through from start to finish with a friendly touch and we're very grateful for her superb customer service! We can't wait to stay at the Windsor again and thank her in person.

Reviewed By Marianne862Great location, very peaceful, lovely walks in the forest to the beaches. Hotel Spa was excellent. The restaurant menu was limited, but good value. However, there is a wide choice of restaurants along the beach, where you can watch the sunsets. Perfect location if you are a golfer.
