DAR AYED se compose d'un chalet avec cheminée pouvant acceuillir 6 à 8 personnes, de deux suites pouvant acceuillir 4 personnes ,d'un logement type S plus 2 pour 6 personnes, d'un autre S plus 1 pour 4 personnes et de cinq chambres indépendantes avec 1 lit double et un lit d'appoint. Notre gîte dispose d'une poscine,d'un jacuzzi, d'une salle de lecture,d'une cuisine avec table campagnarde de 14 places ,d'une bergerie et d'une petite exploitation agricole. Et dernièrement d'une piscine.

The pool looks very nice but cold in winter so we used the jacuzzi inside. The rooms are clean and comfortable. We will come back! Difficult to find something negative to write

Reviewed By imed_GHI was really affected once entering Toujane. A berber village where you enjoy the silent rocks and you discover the paths of the ancestors. My wife and I spent the night at "Dar Fatma", the Ben Ahmed's Hostel. We enjoyed the place, the food and the quality of service. It was well organised, very clean, and really calm. I would like to thank Fethi, the proprietor, and all the Ben Ahmed's for this magnificent moments. We well recommended this distination.

Sleeping in a cave!
Reviewed By Lisa SWe travelled for 12 days all over Tunisia and this was one of our favourite places. The village Toujane has the most beautiful setting and it is a perfect stopover place when visiting the Matmata region. The guest house was just perfect. The accommodation is simple and you are basically sleeping in a cave, but it is a wonderful experience. There was plenty of space, it was warm and comfortable and the shared bathroom was very clean. And the highlight of our stay was the superb homecooking we had in the evening and for breakfast. It was some of the most delicious food we had during our stay in Tunisia. We highly recommend this guesthouse.

Though the number is reducing, there are some of the local Berber in Tunisia still prefer to live in these traditional houses. The structures are created by digging a large pit in the ground and rooms are carved out from hilly slopes. We were served with hot mint tea and some homemade bread baked in the earth urn. The underground dwellings comprises of the courtyard, the bedrooms, the livingroom and kitchen. Another must see attraction of Tunisia

A l'entrée, sur une grande place publique, on y trouve de nombreux cafés et terrasses bondés en fin de journée lorsque les températures baissent de quelques degrés. C'est un établissement vétuste, peu propre et bruyant. Malgré cela, l'accueil reste tellement chaleureux qu'on en oublie les désagréments. Il est très bien situé, peu cher et convivial. Une bonne adresse pour une escale rapide à Kairouan.
