10 Hostels hotel in Andalucia: Best hotel deals for 2023

April 26, 2023 Almeta Stockton

Distinctive architecture, sun-drenched resorts and eclectic small towns dot Andalusia, a dry, mountainous region of southern Spain that maintains echoes of its Moorish occupation. Spring and fall bring balmy temperatures, ideal for visiting Seville's cathedral, the world's largest Gothic structure, and the 1,200-year-old mosque in Córdoba. Romantics love Granada, home to the fortress of Alhambra and an inspiration to the late poet Federico García Lorca. Don't miss a dip in the sea along the Costa del Sol.

Worst experience of my entire life

Reviewed By jjroberts99

I have travelled half of the entire world. Have been to about 100 counties and have never had a worse experience in my entire life than staying at this place. I have stayed at roach and flea infested places in the jungle that were more pleasant than this place and I have never been discriminated against like I was here. Booked myself a bed in a mixed dorm. Checked in and found that of the whole dorm there was just me and 2 very shy Japanese girls that I did not speak to (they did not speak any English or Spanish). Spent the day out in the city, came home at night, and slept as normal in my boxer shorts. Went down to reception next day to extend my stay and was told by reception "no". When I asked why I was told that the 2 very shy Japanese girls were terrified of the idea of sleeping in the same dorm room as a man. In other words they did not understand the booking that they made and did not understand that they were in a mixed dorm. At this point the very rude and strident woman behind reception basically blamed me for their mistake. Blamed me for the fact that these 2 women have never slept in the same room as a man, went as far as suggesting that I stripped off totally (not possible I literally always sleep in boxers). Showed no interest in hearing what I had to say and basically treated me like dirt for simply being male. Never experienced such sexism before. It gets worse. When using my laptop on wifi to look for another place to stay there were 2 options. The reception and the cafe / bar (which is open to everyone) is basically the same level and floor and the kitchen is a few steps down. I was using my laptop and the wifi to search another place to stay and what do I find? The same awful, awful receptionist actually called the police! Can you believe it? Instead of politely asking me to move to the cafe / bar area (she said nothing about it not being ok to be in the kitchen) she chose to call the police and an armed polceman turned up to escort me from the premises. Never been escorted out of anywhere before for the crime of being male but this place managed to do it. Bravo! Anyway, if you are male, don't stay here. They hate men, won't listen to anything you say and will call the police on you because you have a penis. I tried to contact the head office of this place to tell them about my horrific experience but they don't even answer the phone or email. Avoid.

Lovely little hotel in a great location !

We have just returned from a fantastic stay at Hostal Tak over the Easter Weekend. All the staff are friendly and so helpful, with a great knowledge of the area. Our room was spotlessly clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The kitchen area for guests along with the courtyard area make it a lovely place to stay and relax. The location is excellent with easy walking distance to either the beach or the old town giving you a huge choice of bars, restaurants and shops to visit. Would highly recommend staying here and we will be back!

Lovely place, perfectly clean, friendly staff, very (!) rude hosts

Reviewed By zorro007Marrakech

Great lovely place, horrible unfriendly hosts. The place is very beautiful, very clean and in the best part of Marbella, right in the old historical town, and near the beaches, but the hosts at the reception were rude and unkind for no clear reason at all. The other staff was lovely. The airport shuttle was not available although it was promised which made me miss the plane.

Just spent two nights at this super little hotel in the heart of the old town of Jerez. Clean, stylish, comfortable, reasonably priced and pleasant, friendly staff. Comfortable seating on the roof terrace and in addition a super little pool on the ground floor, which is very welcome after walking through the city on a hot day! The hotel has a lovely feel to it, possibly because it has a limited number of rooms. It almost feels like a secret hideaway! We will definitely be back.
