There’s an Arabic inscription that captures the essence of Granada in a few words: “There is nothing so sad as to be blind in Granada.” The perspicacity of this declaration becomes obvious as soon as you penetrate the austere walls of the Alhambra and take in the full majesty of the architecture, carvings and fountains of the Nasrid palaces. Your ticket (which should be bought well in advance following the instructions on the attraction’s website) also affords entry to the Renaissance Palace of Carlos V and to the exquisite gardens of the Generalife. If you are celebrating a special event, or are in the market for a splurge, you can stay in the lovely Parador, right on site. Make your way down into the city via the atmospheric old quarter of the Albaicin, with its tiny craft shops and restaurants, and head for the Cathedral and Royal Chapel. Also plan a visit to the crypt for the tombs of Ferdinand and Isabella, the instigators of Spain’s imperial adventures to the New World and beyond. It’s worth making the short journey out of town to visit the Monasterio Cartuja, a fabulous Carthusian monastery in the baroque style. Admirers of the poet Lorca should make the effort to visit the Casa-Museo Federico Garcia Lorca in Fuente Vaqueros, about 11 miles from the city centre.

We have been on this site for four nights and they have been really good. OK the site is “rustic” but shouldn’t it be so high up in the Sierra Nevada. It is on the only main road over this fantastic mountain range. Yes the facilities are dated but everything is very clean and gushings of hot water. Wyfi.......excellent and owner welcomed us with a free app that gave us so much information about the site and the surrounding area. His welcome was first class also. The views are outstanding and the village, Laroles, just below the site has everything you could need including 2 very good restaurant bars and a petrol station (A rare thing in the mountains) The only problem we have encountered was getting in to the site. The top entrance doesn’t look too appealing and fairly narrow and winding down to reception. We have a 5 meter caravan towed by a 4x4 and this was probably one of the most difficult sites I have got into. Some 500 meters down the road towards the village is another wide entrance road but this has a right angle bend which also can be difficult. Don’t let this put you off because the site owner was very helpful, just ring him. We will definitely return to this lovely site in this corner of La Alpujarras. A great area topped with a good camping site.

Stayed 4 nights. The pitches are small but that is common in Spain and we were happy with our space - enough to set up table and chairs outside. Toilets were clean and the showers were one of the best we had on our trip. We ate twice at the restaurant - one very good experience and one not so good but maybe we chose the wrong food! Lots of restaurants and shops a short walk up the hill from the campsite in La Zubia. Bus stop outside every 30 minutes into Granada centre. Would stay again.

What an absolute gem, the teepees are fantastic, beautifully accessorised and comfortable, our hosts Gino and Alex were so helpful, such lovely people. The area is stunning and groceries can be purchased locally in Zujar 5 minutes away, or larger supermarkets at Bazza 15 minutes away. We visited The Fig forest whilst we were in the area which was natural beauty at the very best, Casa Bella Teepees is certainly worth a visit.

Lovely clean campsite. What I really liked is that each camping spot is secluded by trees for privacy. A lovely experience. There's a traditional cafe/ restaurant on the opposite side of the road, economical prices and great views.

The campsite is near a main motorway and quite remote but the pitches are all hardstanding and spacious. All pitches have good access to hook up points and there is a good service point and grey waste disposal point. Lovely little cafe/bar on site but the shower/WC block is really tired and needs some serious attention. Staff speak English and are very friendly.

A pleasant cabin camp, very near Deifontes, an interesting village. The camp is 15 minutes from Granada, and has easy access to the motorway. Gates locked. It was late September so we were the only people there.

Welcome to Camping Tropical Almunecar, just above Almunecar and the beach (distance to both 0,7 km). Apartments and wooden houses (all with teresse, kitchen, bathroom with shower, bedsheets), space for mobilhomes and tents. Bar with terace, wifi, large comunity lounge, kids zone, videoprojector, gymnastics, natural environment with good views.
We booked a cabin at this site unaware that you have to take your life in your hands to cross the N340 to get in to Almunecar, or face an assault course to access the river bed. I would definitely not want to cross the N340 at the campsite entrance with children or dogs. It is to say the least dangerous when there is any significant amount of traffic. I pointed out to the owner that I felt the website misrepresented some aspects of the place. He refunded half of our deposit without argument, however still retained 12 Euros for doing nothing!

Adjunto fotos.

The resort features a cozy cottages breaking the traditional format as cottages have a rustic, traditional mountain style, reflected in the wood and the vaults of the interior, but with the charm of a modern decoration for the striking colors of their walls and cloths which transmit a sensation of comfort and pleasure. All cottages have jacuzzi is the perfect place to relax and disconnect from the city. A perfect place to enjoy the most romantic nights with your partner or family. Do you dare to live the experience in Fuente del Lobo?
Getting in was a challenge, and whilst there was plenty of space (we were the only motorhome in May...tells you something?) most of the described facilities were not present. No shop, a restaurant/bar that seldom opens (probably due to lack of guests) and a manager you drives the 200 metres to and from her quarters to the office rather than walking. The shower/toilet block was obviously well designed but suffered from a lack of cleaning although the water was at least nice & hot. It was also very expensive for the lack of facilities. Give this one a miss!
