Secret getaway with killer views

Reviewed By fishpuk

Arranged a few days horse riding for my wife and this was offered in one of the deals we found which fell on my wife's birthday. The place was spotless (other than for the acorns falling off the trees) and was lovingly set out - you can see the owners really thought about what they were doing. Texting when the food was ready was a nice little idea - the food was superb local produce and and home made. We were the first English visitors and will be sure to tell everyone about this as it is a truly stunning romnantic getaway. Full makrs to them for coming up with something original whilst nicely slipping into the landscape. Great people - great place - great stay.

Quirky and fantastic fun

Reviewed By Jon_Dodsworth

Although this was just a one night stop on our way through, we could have easily spent a week here. On arriving, the lady on reception don't speak a word of English but was very friendly. Her husband soon appeared who spoke good English and showed us to our shepherds hut. To say I was amazed was an understatement. So much in such a small area. Although actually as you can see from the photos, they aren't actually that small. They are very well spread out and have outside tables and chairs as well as a bbq each. The kids made immediate use of the warm pool and trampoline and all too soon it was time to leave. But, we'll be back!

Right along the Dordogne. Great location. We rented a mobile home. Unfortunately without airco. Nice pools but rather cold water. The people in the restaurant are really friendly. If you come here then know you have to order your bread for the next morning or go to the super market instead. This is a great location from where you can do various day trips.

Stay away from Seagreen "services"

Reviewed By N. L

After many years of joy at this campsite and despite the usual problems(dirty toilets etc) you find at many campsites this year Seagreen, who exploit, the campground since a couple years have just ruined it for us. As said we have been coming here for many years and since Seagreen took over it has become less attractive to go here but now they gave me a surprise after paying for my booking. When I called Seagreen after my booking to indicate my preferred pitch(you can't do that through the booking form)and you pay 40 Euro's for it, they let me wait for 45 minutes and hang up the phone 2 times so I had to back only to hear from a very disrespectfull lady that my dog could not come because he is over 20kg. My dog has been there fore many years and the booking form and terms and agreements on their site say nothing about this rule. Only after you paid for your booking and get a confirmation they have put (-20kg) in the confirmation. And besides that I now have to do a request for a refund of the money I paid because that arrogant lady on the phone did not want to arrange that for me. So after many years I will sadly no longer be going to this Campsite and I advice others to also not to go hear untill Seagreen is no longer exploiting it anymore.

Stay here. Its amazing

Had the best 5 nights here and an amazing thunderstorm to boot ? We couldn't hire a kayak but thats probably because we were not organised enough. Kids had lots of fun body boarding down river. Really is a fantastic setting the town is on the doorstep and beautiful. If you are visiting Dordogne this is the campsite to stay.

Lovely Campsite

Reviewed By NickyCant

Perfectly located only 10 minutes drive from Brive. Great quiet campsite with large pitches for the caravan. Great view overlooking the lake from our pitch. Only negative on the pitch was it was quite shaded (I like a lot of sun!) and the ground is very hard..yiu will need a steel hammer to get your pegs in, a rubber mallet is not up to the job. The showers were very modern, clean and lovely and hot. Only negative on the showers were that there were only 2 in each block (3 blocks on the site) and so invariably there would be a wait for a shower. The pool is a good size, although it was really cold! The lake is only a short 5 minute walk from the campsite. The facilities are very good, paddle boards, canoes and water skiing. The brochure stated that there were 100km of cycle tracks, but apart from the obvious track around the lake, they were not obvious. You could order bread and croissants from the bar, but there was no on site shop. There was a restaurant on site that provided burgers and pizzas. Overall a great campsite, would definitely recommend a stay here and we would stay again.

New management very welcoming

Definitely recommend. We are having a brilliant time here, made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived with a welcome drink and soirée grillade complete with our choice of meat from the local butcher's van. Childrens' activities in the morning and several themed evenings during the week but not over the top. Very natural site, super quiet and lots of wildlife including glo worms at night! We have relaxed completely since we arrived and will be sad to leave tomorrow. Merci and good luck with your future bookings!

Overnight stay

Didn't know what to expect... Extraordinarily please with everything about this site. Met the lady in reception who, dispite the temperature being 35 in the shade, couldn't be more welcoming and informative. The layout of the site is very tranquil and the facilities are very well maintained. The staff, that we saw, always had a smile a 'bonjour' and worked into the night to make sure the site is always clean and maintained. Hoping to stay again. Would recoment this site if asked.
