Great place to stay for skiing holiday
Reviewed By Donna GLovely hotel/ B&B. Can't believe it's only 2/3 star. Very clean. Very welcoming. Brilliant for skiing holiday as Baqueria Berret is as short drive away. Approx 8km. Casau town is superb with plenty of bars and restaurants. Would definitely recommend. Owners extremely kind and friendly. Good for all year round : skiing walking biking motorcycling etc

Great potential
Reviewed By Monica CThis hotel is in a beautiful location in the mountains away from the city. You need to have a car to stay here, not easily accessible by foot, especially with the rain/mist in the Val D'Aran, and its up a steep hill on the side of the road. The jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room are nice additions for the guests, but the 30 minute time slot was a little too short to enjoy it. The kitchen is tiny and they make the most out of it, the breakfast was decent, but I wouldn't eat the dinner if I were you. Also, the staff in general were not very helpful, we sent an email ahead of time and they responded with short, non-helpful responses, and our room (facing the parking area) was never cleaned, not even beds made (2 single beds put together) or wiped down the bathroom, on our 2 night, 3 day stay here. Very strange. I think maybe they were just reopening after the floods in the valley a few months ago and were a little run off their feet or short staffed? So, all in all not a very enjoyable stay for our 2 year wedding anniversary.

Betlan is a small town in the center of Valle de Aran giving out the possibility to walk, bike, enjoy nature that narrows the hotel and nearby towns communicated through ancient paths that our parents were moving and grandparents.

Reviewed By Josep Maria C CNot recommendable. Poor relation between price and quality food. Humble restaurant with nice views over river. Better enjoying the view and then go somewhere else. We ate "little dishes menu" and the "tapes" or "little dishes" were really awful. Fried without any care and any special detail to point. Cooking should mean something else than putting ingredients mixed with no tears or loose. Bland and flavourless rice, something to forget as soon as possible. No complaints about service, but when you go to a restaurant you expect something else than a smile.

In desperate need of maintenance!
Reviewed By EnglishShandrisseI usually only write when the stay is fabulous but this is my exception. The welcome was not warm. The bed was the hardest I’ve ever not slept in. The shower was one of those once expensive triple showers with a tin can overhead, a normal shower on a tube and forward pointing massage jets; not one worked properly. Hair washing was a challenge. No tea/coffee making facilities. There’s a small pool but the aircon didn’t work, nor the fountain. And only one jet worked in the little jacuzzi. It’s great to have these things as little luxuries, but they have to work! The whole place was in need of a re-decoration and gives off the atmosphere of the owners having more than taken their eye off the ball into the realms of they can’t be bothered. Such a shame.

On the Casteth street, in Vielha, is the Ostau d'Oc, which is a small family hostel, two star, cosy and comfortable, with lots of character, in which Laura and Teresa put all his knowledge to make your stay much more than a simple stay. Inside, there is a coffee lounge, several bedrooms, a workshop where skies can be locked and repaired, and bikes too, cookies, company and advice so that you can enjoy the Aran Valley inside, and also outside, tours and excursions, visits, curious corners, interesting places....

Reviewed By FrogRosbifWe could only stay 1 night, but Ostau d'Oc proved to be a super spot to stay at. Our room wasn’t big, but certainly adequate for a short stay and just 2 people. Linen was well pressed and clean. In the heart of the small town of Vielha, and within very easy walking distance to restaurants and bars. Found it very easy to park on the street just 2 minutes from the hotel but there were other car parks around if necessary (we stayed on a Sunday night mid-October – Low Season). Breakfast was varied and plentiful, and Nuria was an absolute delight & ever so helpful! Good, free Wi-Fi too.

Best place I've been in a long time

I travel for work and stay in a lot of hotels and bnbs but I have to say this is one of my favourite places I have ever stayed. It was perfect from start to finish. The owner Maria was extremely friendly and helpful, she obviously really cares about her guests and wants them to enjoy their trip. She will do whatever she can to help you and give you information and advice etc. She even put chocolates and champagne in our room for new years eve and gave us a Christmas present for the 6th Jan. These were really lovely personal touches and made our stay feel very special. The rooms were gorgeous and very warm and cosy with great views. They were very clean with everything you need and the whole hotel was very peaceful. The beds were extremely comfortable and we both had excellent nights sleep. The bath mats and towels were like you would find in a 5 star hotel, really cosy! There was ample free and extremely convenient parking. There are some really good restaurants literally on the doorstep and lots more just a few minutes drive down the road. Breakfasts were delicious and there was always plenty of food. The village itself is probably the most beautiful of all the villages in the area and is very convenient for the nearby ski lifts without being right in the middle of the busy noisey towns nearby. It was the perfect place for us to spend new year's eve and to enjoy skiing and climbing. It is very very good value for money and I would 100% recommend staying here and we definitely hope to be back again.

Un hotel acogedor, que hará que sienta la esencia más pura de un alojamiento de alta montaña, donde se respira un ambiente familiar que le ayudará a disfrutar de una experiencia inolvidable en el Valle de Aran.

Not recommend to stay here. Other hotels much better than this in the area for example Parador de Viellha. A pity since we were really looking forward to this!!
