Our hostel is located 300 meters from the main square, is a welcoming place, with all the amenities needed to be at home. All our rooms have tel., TV, bathroom, heating and air conditioning. There is also a restaurant with a great variety of dishes, national and menus to suit all tastes. Cafeteria service, selling newspapers and magazines.
Cute hostel located in the beginning of Trujillo
Reviewed By Ninuzza⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I think that the location of the hostel is of five star quality because you can park just outside. You can't park close by many of the other hotels and hostels in this cute medieval village. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The service is also impeccable. The heating (so necessary in the freezing month of February in Extremadura!) in our first room didn't work, so we were given another, better room where the heating worked. ⭐⭐⭐ There are no official front desk/reception, but the staff (that were also bar/waiter staff for the restaurant) were effective in helping us checking in and out. ⭐⭐ The shower could be improved by a shower curtain and a shower mat. Rather impossible to take a shower without getting water everywhere and it creates a super slippery surface. Also, you could hear EVERYTHING from the activities of the other guests. Bring earplugs! ⭐ Nothing here is of one star quality.

Reviewed By 240saraI stayed here in February with a friend for a visit with my daughter. The room was bright clean with a wonderful bath. Breakfast was coffee and toast with tomatoes and olive oil. Yum! The price was incredible. Would highly recommend!

Casa Rural La Canteras is an old manor house, dating back to the late 19th Century. It is located 12 km by road from Trujillo, within a Special Protection Area for Birds, a paradise for birdwatchers. Its privileged situation makes it an ideal place to explore Extremadura, with places of interest to the visitor such as Trujillo, Cáceres, Mérida, Guadalupe, Plasencia, Monfragüe, etc. All within an hour´s drive.

Reviewed By Charles BThis casa rural is run by a very friendly couple and our Naturetrek group took up most of the rooms. It appears to be ideally located for avid birdwatchers in a very peaceful part of Extramadura. Breakfast was simple with carton juice, slow-slow-toast, cold hard boiled eggs, cheap jam portions and dodgy coffee. Supper was no-choice home cooking. Some of the home cooking was really tasty, such as a sort of ratatouille soup, but the meat courses were overcooked and nothing special. The included wine was OK. The rrom was basic with no table or chair.

Dirty, cockroaches and impolite service
Reviewed By LaurabautistajalonI stayed one night here and had to change hostel because I found a plague of cockroaches invading my room and hallways at night. I called the owners and they pretended me to just kill them and stay in that room sleeping my entire visit. I changed the room for that night and the hostel for the rest of my visit. The owners were bothered and told me that I was exagerating and cockroaches were not a big deal to change hostel. Rooms are also poorly managed and decorated. My bed was terrible and I found random hairs all over the beddings. Bathrooms are ok but many things were broken or not functioning, like the AC. Poor conditions and bad service in general. Not recommended.

Beautiful quiet rural setting with lots of wildlife right outside the house. Perfect for birdwatchers and nature lovers. With Martin Kelseys advice we were able to find 2 Black-shouldered kites, Imperial eagle and Black Wheatear.

Not too bad
Reviewed By DanialombardiSimple however couldn’t have been in a better location! Bang in the centre of the main square. The waiter of the restaurant who gave us the keys to the rooms was very friendly which was reassuring. Then the bed was comfortable but on the other hand the bathroom was the let down. The paper was more than a metre away from the toilet, and being pregnant imagine reaching over... plus we also had a wonderbox experience with this hostal in the pack but the hotel did not accept it saying wonderbox had got it wrong... so we paid the 50€ and that was it.
