Its the best place to relax after a beach day and island hopping in Bort Parton. In the evening they have music and a billard &soccer table for use. The beach is only a 3min walk down the street. The staff was awesome, so friendly and very helpful! The bed is so comfortable and the room & warm shower is super clean. Its has everything i wished for after a long journey. The food is delicious as well. And you can refill your water bottel for only 10pesos. I can highly recommend this place if you want to stay in Port Barton. ?

Everything was great...until when the thief broke in

Reviewed By Hien N

Up until now, I’m still wondering if it was an inside job? The thief knew exactly where to broke in: the only room with 3 girls staying (others had male guests), and these girls will leave for the airport the next morning. My friend woke me up in panic at 4 am, asking why the door was open. We immediately checked our belongings and found out that our bags (which has our passports, money, keys etc) were missing. We tried to call the police in tears, just to find out that they are located in another town which will take them hours to get here. And if there’s no crime scene with blood and dead bodies, they won’t bother to come: completely useless security system, heaven for thieves and burglars. Luckily after minutes searching around the garden and the compound, we found our bags thrown on the ground. Everything was still there except our cash. I lost 300$, my other two friends lost a total of 800$, not to mention our Philippino as well as Vietnamese money. I am 30 years old, have traveled to almost 20 countries and this was the first-time-ever, I don’t even have a dime left in my pocket in a strange country. The hotel offered us 1,000 peso each (equal to 25$) but we insisted for 2,000 peso (50$) so we can at least have breakfast, then take the 5 hour-bus to the airport, then go through 2 flights to go home. To be fair, the hotel was nice: clean room with hot shower, chocolate cookies and hot water for tea every morning. The staff was friendly and the owners were helpful. Very chilling vibe. But, the burglary was really a bummer. We felt really lucky that 3 girls still came back home in one piece after 4 days in a town with no police around! And, Our passports, MacBook Air, Go-pro, iPhone X, credit cards and other expensive gadgets were still there so that the damage won’t be big enough for us to stay back to look for them - smart burglar!

Fun Place!

Actually we did not sleep in El Dorado, but hung out there a lot during our stay in Port Barton. The beach front bar is well equipped and they serve really good food (I recommend the Beef Tapa and the Adobo). The have some Jenga games and for sunset the backpacking community gathers there to have some chill time or party. The staff is extremely cool and helpful (especially the bar keeper Ford) and the also help out with transfer and excursion organisation. Cool typical backpacker place and a good time is guaranteed! Thanks for everything!

Simply amazing

Reviewed By PetterNerman

It was six months since I visited and it isn’t until now that I realize I’ve forgotten to leave a review for this place ... and I feel kind of bad about that since we thought our stay was absolutely wonderful. Everything was great except for not having a shower in our room, but if you feel like you need one that can easily be remedied by renting one of the room where it’s included. We lived in one of the cheaper rooms and it was small and simple but also clean and very atmospheric. I remember laying in the bed at night surrounded by the mosquito net, listening to Mando Diao ... and it was one of my happiest and most memorable moments on the trip. As was watching the sun rise and set from our bungalow’s window – pure magic. Yes, the view from our room was to die for. The newly built pool was surprisingly clean considering that the resort is located in the middle of the jungle and we were surprised to find out breakfast was included considering how little we paid for our room. On top of that the breakfast was really good too – especially the mango smoothie-eque drink we were served! Delicious! Even though it’s been six months and our trip to the Philippines feels so far away now that I’m hiding from the winter under layers of clothes here in Sweden, I felt obligated to come on here and leave a review for this place. It was pretty much our favorite hotel during our entire trip of 20 days plus, and seeing that they’re only ranked in the middle on TripAdvisor – with only three reviews – makes me kind of sad. They weren’t too good at marketing the place and it was tucked away some distance from the town with pretty much no advertising (that we could see) pointing towards it. I remember I explained this to the owner and said that it’s a shame for both parties – them missing out on customers and would-be customers missing out a fantastic experience. But if you’re reading this, hopefully I’ve convinced you to help give this place the recognition it deserves. So give it a try and let me know what you think – I’m sure you’ll love it! Random trivia: Our stay here is what made me decide to stop eating meat, since I “befriended” (I talked to it – it oinked back) a pig standing just outside of the hotel area. Ironically enough, it’s probably slaughtered by now. :(
