Perfect place to stay in historic HdG

Location, location, location. We never needed a car to visit all of the sights, eat in restaurants and enjoy Bomboy's Ice Cream and chocolate. Everyone on staff went out of they way to make our stay delightful. The Wolbert Room, in the main house, was beautiful and the bed very comfy. The shower in the bathroom was also special. And, most important for us in this time of COVID, were the many places on the property where we could eat outside or just watch the world go by from the porches and garden in the back. We will absolutely return to the Vandiver!

We were seated on a lovely outdoor covered porch, until a storm quickly blew in. The view from the porch was lovely. The staff moved us indoors once the storm happened. The tavern area is warm and impressive. We had a rockfish special and a crab cake dinner. Both were well prepared and delicious. The toffee pudding was a lovely finish to a wonderful dinner. Service was excellent.

Osprey Point Annex is quiet, secluded, warm and inviting! The Forward Room is the best room! This room is the only room at the Annex that comes with a private, shaded balcony and spectacular water views. What a great surprise as we booked last minute and this was the only room available!! The room itself was beautiful and, as I told my son, the bathroom was top notch as it had a working fan and just a shower stall! It's the little things like this that will keep my husband and I coming back...to that room! The complimentary breakfast was top notch freshly made homemade fare, not your typical hotel food. Terry and her crew were warm and friendly!! Best weekend ever!!

When I complained about the price we paid foe what we received , the front desk smiled and said : yes we need a remodel.
