Such a warm person who shows sincere interest, we literally cried when we left. We traveled to Interlaken for the first time and found this hotel through Booking.com. We stayed here for 5 nights and it was surely not enough to see all the beautiful places around Interlaken. The hotel is located on the corner of the main road towards the city centre and about 7 mins walking distance to Interlaken West train station. We stayed in a double room which was not so big, but this was exactly what we expected and what you pay for. If you desire a super big room and ac you should book a 5 star hotel for double the price. We went to Interlaken for traveling so the only thing we did in the hotel was sleep, shower and breakfast.. for these things this hotel is perfectly suitable. The rooms are clean, shower gives high pressure water and the breakfast.. amazing! Our host Christine was so nice and shows true hospitality. She prepares the breakfast, which included fresh fruits, different kinds of cheese, breads, coffee, tea, juice, yoghurts.. The breakfast was really above our expectations. Christine greets us every morning and was sincerely interested in what we were planning to do that day.. She gave recommendations and because of her help we had an amazing experience in Interlaken. We will definitely come back to Interlaken and to hotel Alphorn!!

Reviewed By Caddilac89Few minutes walk away from Interlaken West, 2 bus stops close to the hotel and buses are free to use with guest card. My twin room on the highest floor is very clean and spacious with comfortable bedding, strong WiFi and there is a small fan in my room. Shared toilets are kept clean. Breakfast is simple but adequate, the lady is very friendly and always check if we need another coffee. Just be prepared to climb the stairs if you get the room on fifth floor, as well as some noise from the restaurants downstairs at night until around 10pm if you room is facing the street.

When I check in the hotel, Mr George tells us the room is not allowed to eat hot food in the room, but while the Swiss government has close all the restaurant. The hotel should state this information in the online travel agent. The host is so rude that he yells at us not once but twice by saying some very bad words, there is no reason for a so called 'hotel' staff to yell at their customers, we did wrong and we would accept any punishment but we could not accept a hotel staff to yell at us and saying bad words. In my point of view, the host makes us feel that we are not welcome to the hotel from the beginning, we were being discriminated because of our nationality. Moreover, the hotel wifi connection is very poor and slow.

All our rooms at 5th Floor @ Hotel Interlaken are newly renovated Basic Rooms, situated on the 5th floor (lift till 4th floor) of the Hotel Interlaken. They are all non smoking and have either an en-suite bathroom or shared shower and WC in the hallway (2 showers and 2 WCs shared by 8 rooms). The rooms are equipped with water boiler with free coffee and tea, flat screen TV and hair dryer. A breakfast buffet in the Restaurant Taverne is included in the price. Directly behind the hotel you will find a large number of public parking lots (subject to charges).
Good value for money
Reviewed By MagsD879Room 502 exceeded our expectations. It was cool, quiet and comfortable. Yes, it is true that you have to walk up one flight from the 4th floor and that there is no A/C but it is not often hot enough in Interlaken to need it and there is a good fan. Also, even though I was expecting to share a bathroom, our room did have a small bathroom with a very good hot shower with strong pressure, beds were comfy, breakfast plentiful (and included in price which is often not the case when booking through Booking.com.). For the price, it was good. I would return.

Perfect for a short stay
Reviewed By FlowerGypsy85The central location is pretty hard to beat, plus there is a pub downstairs that serves food/alcohol until late, and is really popular among the locals. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the showers were very new and clean (although be aware they are shower stalls). We stayed in the Twin Room which was super small, but good enough for us since we didn't spend much time in it. It needed a super clean but wasn't incredibly dirty or anything. There is also a self catering kitchen with a fridge, microwave, etc. (but no oven) and many tables you can sit and eat at. If you're staying only for a couple of days in Interlaken and want a true "backpacking" experience then this place is hard to beat

Lovely hotel with a character, we had a great stay

Check in was all smooth, we arrived early and were planning to leave bags and go explore a bit but we managed to get our room 2 hours before usual check-in time. The hotel is an old traditional building but thats its charm. If you want modern and all shiny then maybe try and find somewhere else. The room was amazing, we got the spacious en-suite one with a balcony. I would recommend to properly check what you are booking as some rooms have shared bathrooms so you avoid disappointment on arrival. Switzerland is an expensive country so if you want a budget room its not fair to then complain about room being small and bathroom being shared. Read small print. Also don’t think its a very suitable place for families with kids. Its an old wooden building and the floors are squeaky, can be bit loud at times. Saying that we were only woken up once overnight by someone walking upstairs. Most nights it was peaceful and quiet. The restaurant was amazing and I cannot praise the chef enough. I need a strict gluten free diet and the hotel made sure I had appropriate breakfast provided every day. The chef was happy to tweak some dinners so I could eat it as well, however plenty of yummy gluten free options available on a standard menu. Absolutely loved rostis and couldn’t get enough of it. Its a very convenient location, about 2-3 min walk from the Wilderswil train station. There are some walks locally as well. We did a long lovely walk locally passing by an old church and along the river. Overall we would def be happy to stay there again.

Wonderful stay when most needed

Fortunately for us, the wonderful staff of this hotel gave us a warm welcome, an available room (which we paid for, of course), and a dinner outside of regular dinner hours. The room was spaceous, clean and had all the necessities you may expect. The hotel was also nicely decorated with 'alps themed' items which made it feel very homely. Breakfast was great as well. Not too extensive but plenty of high-quality fresh foods. All-in-all a great stay :)

The small Hotel Lotschberg enjoys a central but very quiet location, only a 3-minute walk from the Interlaken West Train Station. The hotel was built in 1906 in the art nouveau style and is still run the the owner family. The hotel rooms have been renovated in 2011, since summer 2014 we offer an outdoor seating area. All hotel rooms have private bathroom with shower/WC or bath/WC and a hairdryer. All rooms with TV, Safety box and table Fan, in the hotel rooms breakfast is included in the room rate. The apartments and the economic double rooms are located in the Guesthouse next to the hotel main building. The apartments feature a new, fully equipped kitchenette and a bathroom including a hairdryer. Towels and linen are provided and towels are changed after every third night. In the economic double rooms, daily cleaning and breakfast are included in the price. Hotel Lotschberg offers free WiFi in all rooms, tea and coffee station in the hotel, free use of washing, drying and ironing facilities, free use of bicycles, and free use of the microwave and the fridge. Sunny terrasse with pergola, outdoor sitting area. Every room has an en-suite bathroom and a cable TV, all have a Hairdryer and Safety box. Alarm clocks can be ordered at the front desk, different types of pillows and duvets are available on request at the reception. All rooms are very quiet and have a view to the surrounding mountains.Kids can play on the school yard and football field across the road. Children's playgrounds are close by.
Good hotel in a nice, quiet location

The rooms were simple but adequate, one of the rooms was a corner room which was nice. There is a very nice common area where there are cooking facilities and drinks in a fridge that can be bought at a reasonable price. The staff were friendly and willing to help in any way they could. The hotel is located about 5-10 minutes from the core of the town and close to a supermarket as well. All in all a comfortable stay at a hotel with a lot of soul.

As we have paid via Booking.com, we have asked to get a refund, of course our request was declined in a very rood way. In an effort and hope that the rooms would be in a better shape and status we asked to visit one room. As the lift was not coming down, we went with a very rood personnel to one of the rooms. We where stand. Dirty, smelly, absolutely terrible.
