Cabin Farm house, a home away from home

It felt like home away from home. The receptionist spoke english and they were very friendly although you have to take into consistederthat in this area they do like to take their time. No rush and everything is chill. It was a chilly evening in France but the cabin is so warm. Place is clean and had all necessities we want. Breakfast was simple but filling. For dinner, it was quite late we didn’t expect for them to accommodate us, but surprisingly they did. Dinner was served in big portions, compared to what we’re used to in the Netherlands. All in all it was a place with a charm. I’m not into small cabin spaces or rooms close to nature as I’m a big city fan. But this place is quite an exception. We’ll definitely be back with the entire family again. If you don’t mind driving into the small villages of Alsace then this is a perfect place for you. Payment booking can be cash or CC. Sorry we dont have a pic of the cabin. But we have the delicious dinner they served us that evening.

Reviewed By GeorgeHoogvlietThe rooms are opposite the hotel. They are very luxurous. A nice flatsceern tv, coffee and tea facilities in the room and a perfect wifi. Althoug the room was on the street side there was no extra noise from outside. The room was very spacious. The village is lovely and it is worthwhile to make some trips in the surroundings. For example Stassbourg is a lovely place to go as well as Colmar.

Reviewed By natasha oOur hosts were absolutely lovely and friendly, and the apartment is decorated impeccably. As for cleanliness, it left something to be desired. The kitchen was a mess. Our shower would not drain and hadn't been properly cleaned in some time. Our bed was huge, but the mattress wasn't the best. Our breakfast was very simple - toast, granola and some jams, but the milk had gone bad - for which they apologized profusely! However, it may be a sign that they don't host very often, and it doesn't seem to be a primary residence. You'd be better off eating in town anyway, you're in France!

Fraudulent scam
Reviewed By 586theisbThe stay was booked and paid through Hotels.com but upon check-out, the staff who did not speak English charged us for the stay again. Support from Hotels.com did not help or convince the staff that the stay was in fact paid and the hotel management did not respond to calls from the staff. The hotel later confirmed that the money was incorrectly charged and explained that the mistake was due to change of ownership. Two months later we are yet to receive the return of money and the hotel no longer responds to e-mails but claims that the previous owner ''Ms Henriet'' is responsible. The ownership of the hotel should be irrelevant when booking through an agency. The procedure seems to be deliberate and I guess you run a good business when you can charge guests double.

Very decadent - don't go, neither for 1 night etape

The bathroom in the room is not simply frugal (which would be ok), but crappy and decadent. Linen are clean, at least. I would say that you should go to a Formula1 instead, it is by far more fair!

Reviewed By ann19612016I invested several phone-calls (speaking French fluently) and several mails - - through their website and to a mail adres that I discovered after a good search on the internet, still till today (after 4 weeks of efforts) no confirmation received for wanting to book 2 rooms of 3 nights months ahead. The feeling they gave to me on the phone is that they felt annoyed that I interrupted their daily job (serving customers maybe???) that their internal communication was non existing (quote: this should be done by my chef - she is not here and is not taking it serious.. - unquote) and they are especially non-transparent as to the rooms they have " in mind" for you. So enjoy your stay in Obernai at 1 of the many other accommodations/ restaurants.

Reviewed By Toine MWe had an overnight in this hotel. The room was clean but a bit out dated. Some items we Cleary ready for replacement. The bed was too hard for a comfortable rest and the room did not have airconditioning. We booked a room with garden view but overlooked a shed that was used for storage.
