Great location and awesome experience!

Very pleasant experience here at this hotel from beginning to end. Located in a beautiful spot that overlooks a lake. The surrounding businesses are super convenient ranging from a grocery store to high end dinning. Nice staff from the moment we parked to unload and check in. You have the choice to Valet or Park yourself in a 2 story garage directly behind the hotel. Check in process was easy. Lobby was clean and they happened to have complimentary cookies for the kids, which they loved. Room was extremely clean with a very nice layout. There is a small living room (couch, TV, table) connected to the bedroom (another TV with beds). Ordered room service and the food was ON-POINT. I normally have an expectation for room service, but this Embassy Suites blows it right out of the water. We had the burger, steak and salmon which were all very good. Most importantly the time estimates were very realistic. I believe the wonderful young lady told us it would be 30 mins after we ordered and it took just about that. Went down stairs to go check out the area, and saw that they had a Happy hour. Why not grab a drink before exploring? The drinks are priced fairly, and again the staff was very nice. I noticed they had complimentary bar snacks available (which we didn’t try because we were too full from the room service) which is a nice touch. Overall experience here was stellar. Any time I will be passing through Houston, I will make this my go-to place to stay.

My last morning the lounge was pretty quiet and I had a very nice conversation with Maraceli. She represents the company well and makes guests feel welcome like family.

So, for $300 on a weeknight you can check in at 4:00. Pool closes at 10 pm and opens at 7 am. When I went to enjoy the pool at 8 am they were power washing the surface. Said excuse me ma’am were going to power wash right here next to you! I called and asked for a manager over and over. Never got one to answer the phone. I was raised in the hotel business and I would fire these lousy managers. Would I recommend spending $300-500 on this sack? No. Lights broken in the bathroom just like Motel 6 which costs like $50. Stay elsewhere…..

We stayed here for the NRA annual meeting of members. The hotel was very convenient to the downtown convention center and allowed us to walk to the show every morning. There are plenty of restaurants very close by so dining is easy and enjoyable. I took a couple of walks near the hotel in the early morning just to get a little exercise, very nice area. The highlight was checking in and dealing with hotel staff. They were all so helpful and polite. Great representatives of the hotel. The area outside the hotel was very loud, we could hear music up until about 11 pm. Then it quieted down. We had a wonderful stay and highly recommend this hotel

Great Resort, Disappointing Golf!

Reviewed By Jeff H

The resort is beautiful, rooms are nice and everywhere is clean and well kept. The pools are a very nice retreat and the restaurants offer very good food options. We didn’t have anything that wasn’t well prepared and very good at any of the restaurants. The service is very good and efficient without being overwhelming. Now to the unfortunate side. If you plan on playing golf pay very close attention. I’m an avid golfer and played both the Crenshaw and Fazio Foothills courses. The Crenshaw course is in very nice shape and I would highly recommend it. This is the report course which allows access every day. The greens are fast and challenging but this was a great course and well worth the money. On the flip side, the private course the Fazio Foothills course while a great layout is a complete mess! They charge $300 for a course that should be about $125 on its best day. I’ve seen municipal courses in better shape. Torn up patches everywhere, tee boxes, in the fairway, run ups to the greens. It’s embarrassing that they would charge the money for this course. It’s a very bad look on not only the resort but also the members of the club that they are okay with those conditions. If you are thinking about a trip here then definitely do it but avoid the Foothills course at all costs unless you don’t mind paying $300 to play on a dirt patch.

Beautiful but Service Disappointing

Reviewed By J4040TFkathyb

Pros: Beautiful resort with new amenities recently added. Great service at Ramrock Golf. And at J’s restaurant our server Josh was super knowledgeable and helped us choose our entree. Cons: #1 scheduled for 3 nights. But they put us in a room on floor 5 under construction. Why would you do that?? Very poor decision making by the reservations desk. Construction people kept knocking, trying to enter our room. And the noise!! Upon our request (our request, not theirs) they moved us to another floor. Spent hours of our precious vacation time repacking and unpacking. Not the relaxing vacation we had imagined here. And after all this…no comps??! Another poor decision. Where is the incentive for us to return on another visit ? Cons #2 Nobody you ask around here knows anything. “Gee, I don’t know.” Asked at least five people various questions about the resort and got a similar answer, along with that “deer in the headlights” look. Happened at the yacht club pool entrance, the J‘s restaurant entrance desk, etc. We received a schedule of days/hours for the amenities but many of the times were wrong. We showed up for lunch at the Waterfront Grill at the time listed for opening on a Monday and It was CLOSED. So we spent $50 on 2 wristbands in order to go to the yacht club beachside grill at the opening time listed (10am) and they said they don’t start serving until 11. By now we’re feeling exasperated! Despite all this I want to end on a positive note The resort grounds are beautiful and well kept. Ramrock golf course very lovely. Will we be back? Unlikely. [email protected]
