10 All-inclusives in California: Best hotel deals for 2023

April 18, 2023 Darwin Bolte

California is a fertile, peaceful place where you’ll find a near-equal balance of vineyards and deserts, beaches and mountains, hippies and traditionalists. Catch an epic wave in Big Sur or swirl a glass in Napa Valley. Be dazzled by the Joshua Tree night sky or just star-gaze in Hollywood. Swish down the slopes of a Tahoe ski resort, or cruise across the Golden Gate Bridge with the top down and the music blasting. Above all, don’t forget to soak up some Golden State sunshine.

Joanne assisted us at the front desk. Her level of hospitality cannot go unnoticed. She greeted us with a warm, welcoming smile. Provided us inside tips of things to do, Belmont Park is just minutes away. She made sure our room was located exactly where we had requested it with our reservation. She went above and beyond to ensure our stay would be a memorable weekend and it was! Their restaurant has a good vibe, not to mention their drinks were so delicious. Thumbs up to the tropical feel one experiences by staying at this beautiful resort! We live in San Diego and can say this was one of our best staycations ever!

So very beautiful!

Such a lovely property! Felt like I was in Tuscany, beautiful landscaping , old world charm to the buildings , it has it all. It even smells delicious here with all the blooming foliage. After checking in, which was simple and quick, we were shown to our beautiful room. It was spacious and well appointed, a big cozy bed ,super soft linens and a sitting room with a lovely fireplace.Didn’t take long to get down to the beautiful spa and pool area, again incredibly gorgeous. The pool is the perfect temperature with such soft lovely salt water. We enjoyed a delicious lunch alfresco in or cabana. Yummy Brussel sprouts and a fresh delicious salad from the chefs garden! Also did a little shopping in the super cute boutique. We finished out the evening with an amazing dinner at Avant. The service was impeccable ,the food delicious and incredibly pretty! Lovely wine choices and super fun cocktails too. Oops, forgot to mention a quick game of golf between pool and dinner! Had a really good time riding around the beautiful grounds, seeing some wildlife down by the pond and having a cocktail in the golf cart! Only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer!

Beautiful Nature Views of the Mountains & Trees / Could use some TLC in customer service improvements

Reviewed By WorldTravelerTom

Check in wasn't very smooth. There was an issue with my reservation dates and seemed to be too much for the check in staff to handle. Had to return later to involve a manager to resolve. I was told I could return as often as I'd like to obtain the small bottles of water, however on one particular day again seemed like it was too much for the front desk staff to handle like it was a bother for them. Had inquired with concierge about the schedule of activities that were on a calendar of events at the resort that was provided to us upon check in because it would indicate times but not locations, however the concierge wasn't even aware of the schedule so had no idea of the activities or their locations so we never did find Bingo. Was always wondering if the other things were going on. Upon check out there was an issue with my bill as far as inappropriate/inaccurate charges, however again was too much for the front desk to handle and they requested that I email and or call back later to discuss to resolve. I have since emailed and am still awaiting resolution. Highly recommend some serious training in customer service for front desk personnel and or have a manager on site out front that knows what they are doing to assist with these issues. We were only there for 3-nights/4-days and although it did rain the first day we still enjoyed as much as we could of all of the resort's and local area amenities going to the pool/jacuzzi, going hiking and biking, eating at all of the restaurants on site, and most importantly the best experience spending an afternoon at the spa. Was disappointed that the the pool side bar and restaurants were not open very often or very long. Was disappointed that the coffee shop was closed down for renovations. Was disappointed at the very high prices of the the restaurants at the resort. I understand the pool was supposed to be heated but it obviously was not. It was freezing cold. Spent most time in jacuzzi as did everyone else. Understand the water slide was supposed to be open certain hours of the day but was not and was later told could ask someone to open it up if we wanted to use it. It also appeared that there was a serious challenge with lack of staffing. For example we made a reservation at Six Peaks as we were directed to do saying they were booked so had to squeeze us in late, however when we arrived there that evening we appeared to be the only ones in the main dining area. The bartender was the hostess and the waitress.

Wow, I can’t say enough about my two spa experiences. First off was the hospitable greeting and care I received from Heidi. She is AMAZING! Showed me around made sure I was comfortable. She is a breathe of fresh air. The I was off to a 75 minute facial with Sierra. Sierra is knowledgeable, gentle and explained products along with recommendations. My skin felt wonderful! Next visit I saw Kelly for a 50 minute Swedish massage with CBD. It was AMAZINGLY relaxing. Kelly definitely got all the tension out. I highly recommend treating yourself to this wonderful spa that has so much to offer, you won’t regret it! You’re welcome!

The first day I arrived to the Hilton there was a line down the driveway with families everywhere scrambling to get their stuff out of there car. Although it was very chaotic I still felt very welcomed by their valet and how accommodating they were. A valet attendant named Austin Peretz grabbed bags from my car from their parking garage since I left it in the car and did it with a smile. Overall loved their valet and special shout-out to Austin:))
