To begin with - I have been traveling around the globe for years, paying special attention to old Castles and manors as Im in love in history.
And this place captured me with its unique and authentic atmosphere. And as the cherry on the cake - its owner! A man whos in love with whats hes doing and the place.
Hes not only welcoming guests - hes also a chef!!! And not just a chef - CHEF as in Michelin starred restaurant!
I was overhelmed with attention and care, felt like old time aristocrat visiting an old friend.
And all of that in my country - it is amazing!
I really do RECOMMEND this place!
It is a must for Latvia citizens, it is a must for every guest visiting Latvia.
We had one of the most romantic evenings ever :) And Hope you will get it too by visiting this place!

The restorant is located on the 8th floor of recently renovated Tower of Trinity Church of Jelgava. In the Church Tower you have the possibility to visit interractive and exciting historical expositions, to see the Panorama of Jelgava from the 9th floor sightseeing platform

I was positively surprised in this place. It has not only very interesting architecture but also really tasty food. I loved the location, the restaurant is located in old tower, so you could see the clock from the inside. Moreover, they had a great stuff and tasty food. I chose pasta and sorbet. Both of them was well prepared. I really enjoyed this place, so I am looking forward to the visit.

Hercogs is a family restaurant, so you can expect to find the kids there in the corner, but it is more sophisticated than you might expect. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual and the service is good. There's an excellent choice of Latvian and "international" dishes on the menu and the servings are generous. If you like pork, I can highly recommend the "Duke's Sail".

I pop in here for lunch or dinner every time I visit Tukums. comfy Seating, relaxed atmosphere and decent food is a winning combo. Value you get for your money is amazing. Large portions. Other reviews mention that the service is slow, but I would disagree with that.

We stopped here for lunch after touring Rundale Palace. This restaurant is a lovely and peaceful place to sit and relax over delicious food. The 2 waitresses were friendly and helpful. The portions are wuite large. The mushroom soup is especially good and we also enjoyed their homemade fizzy juices. The lemon was fantastic.

Overall nice place to visit.
Yet it was quite crowdy and we had to wait some 40 min. Not many tables and seats there.
Big portions and delicious meals.
Average price level.
Not easy to enter with baby trolleys - stairs up without any chance to go up easily.
Generally recommended if passing nearby.

At Our place you can enjoy peacefully a business lunch or a leisurely dinner. As an additional service we offer a banquet table setting. The restaurant entrance without pets. When booking a table outside on Terrace, fondling will be located next to you. There is an opportunity to leave the dogs on a leash at the restaurant.

found this place whilst looking for a bite to eat while visiting the castle ! what a find ,good food at fantastic price for visitors to this beautiful country main dish of meatballs at just 5euros (bargain ) the devil fish dish came in a 12 EUROS about £8 well and truly worth every penny and would have cost so much more in the uk ! taking some friends back tomorrow for sunday lunch !

I came to this place with my girlfriend. Immediately when we came in, we were greeted by lovely and friendly staff. The service throughout the whole meal was simply fantastic. It's a beautiful contemporary-modern feeling place too.
I had Veal cheek, and my girlfriend had a delicious salad. Both meals were delicious, however the Veal cheek was obviously cooked by a truly accomplished chef. It was literally melt in the mouth, and the gravy had obviously been made in the proper way - out of the meat juices. The portion was HUGE too! Seriously, I eat out a lot, and that was the best meal I had in a long time!
We would STRONGLY recommend anyone Reading this review to go visit this place - the price are perhaps mid-high end for Jelgava, but based on my experience, you wouldnt be hungry, and you get a FANTASTIC meal! 6/5 stars!!

Tea House was new when I spent my time in Jelgava, however I used a lot to read there, cuz I lived 2 minutes away. The coffee is quite good - avarage I would say, nice service and view to rivers -Lielupe and Driksa.
