it's a family style restaurant. Food is ok, not great. Japan is known from my experience being here on a visit for 3 months to load you up on rice and some small pickle stuff, usually different radish stuff. Very little protein. Food here as restaurants is simple. Nothing very creative or intense in flavor. They have a mix of Japanese and America style dish such as spaghetti . Though not great because the sauce taste like America can tomato sauce and that's not even the good type like how in America we have vodka tomatoe etc. this one compare to joyful which is another similar establishment is more quiet. The joyful in yanai is fill with rowdy high school kids who like to come and hang out and talk loudly about sex and gossip. Gusto is more quiet. Though compare the two, joyful has better deal and a tad cheaper. I'm mot fond of either place because the food isn't good. Might be good for people who never had japanese style food but I've had better in America for more meat and larger portion. People tend to post pics of how much you get but honestly it just look a lot because they like to separate everything into individual serving. But it you add everything into a medium bowl of rice, it's about fit.

This is a very good and inexpensive Japanese restaurant in Yanai. The food is very tasty and quite reasonable. Very good service too.
