Had a really good experience, the food, staff and atmosphere were great. After looking for some late night eats we found this place through trip advisor and the reviews were spot on. Just had mains, rice and naan and it was perfect (and a few Cobra beers)
Cooked exactly how you wanted in regards to heat and all dishes were of a very good quality. No “standard sauce with just a twist” each dish was distinct and held its own as we all had a spoon of each other’s curry to taste. Garlic naan was absolutely spot on and I would gladly go back here for more courses.
Bill came to £55 for four people which was more than reasonable!

Visited last night and had a really nice time, every member of staff are very welcoming and can’t do enough for you. The manager makes the time to walk the floor asking at each table if your enjoying your food and is there anything else he can do for you.
Would definitely recommend a visit to anyone who is thinking about going to penn tandoori.
I had one of the combo meals jalfrezi & lamb balti which was beautiful.

Lovely family run restaurant serving excellent food. We ate early on Friday evening but the restaurant was already busy, so booking a table is essential. Started with 2 well made cocktails chosen from a wide selection. Had 2 bowls of well made pasta ( plenty of other things on the menu) one with goats cheese and walnuts and the other with delicious meatballs. The desserts were fab. Well made coffee completed the evening. Service was polite and efficient .

Have visited Maxsims again twice in the last month (have been going here for years since it first opened) and it never fails to please. Max and Simona always show amazing hospitality and courtesy towards their customers as well as serving up incredibly delicious fresh, home cooked food. This weekend was the second time we have taken a friend with us who is vegan and although they provide quite a few vegan tapas dishes as standard on the menu, having been pre-informed, they had prepared a special vegan main which was really tasty even for a non-vegan person, and a lovely fresh fruit salad with vodka as a dessert. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them. Would highly recommend trying this place if you haven’t already with the added bonus of being able to take your own alcohol so you can actually have you want to drink instead of the generally limited ranges of licenced restaurants.

Came here a year ago and service was so slow I had to leave without having my dessert ( taxi was booked) Guy at counter apologised and said they were a chef down.
Fair enough, but went there last week and it was just the same. Waiters were very helpful, and polite, but for a Thursday evening , to wait for over 45 minutes for your main course to arrive, is just a bit too slow.
Food was of fantastic quality- I always have King prawn and mushroom Balti wherever I go, and this one is absolutely the best! Huge king prawns that you never see anywhere else, usually restaurants serve up just little curled up bits of king prawns. Here they are almost golf ball sized King prawns !!!.
An absolutely beautiful meal, good staff, but disappointingly slow service.

We booked a table for 7 people Christmas Eve morning at 10:30. The menu was great with the Full English being the most popular. This was presented very nicely with everything cooked well and to a high standard. The staff were very good and food was prompt and hot.
It looks like this is going to be a regular venue for our Christmas Eve breakfast from now on !
I would recommend this to everyone but i dont want it to become overbooked! So i will keep it quiet.

This is the second time I have been taken to this restaurant and I can not recommend it highly enough. My family and friends who live in the area dine here frequently and I will always request to come here when I visit. The food is amazing..freshly prepared to order, tasty and authentic.. Each dish looks amazing but I can highly recommend the tandoori mix for starters and chicken maya maya for main course. I could actually taste the flavours and it was not a shop bought or heavily processed dish which is usual in the local balti restaurants to me. They have a lot to learn. This is a small hidden gem in Wolverhampton which is fantastic value for money. I will be back when I visit again. Thank you for a wonderful evening ❤️

Visiting my birthplace of Wolverhampton on sentimental trip with my daughter we ate on on a Saturday night in the centre of town. To be honest there isn’t a fantastic choice of restaurants in town but I would strongly recommend this excellent Cantonese/ Chinese place very conveniently located near the main Railway /Bus Station which is also near the Premier Inn where we stayed . An excellent menu ( with some Thai dishes too - I can heartily encourage you to try the Thai chicken wings) included some very good seafood and the freshly prepared sea bass , whilst a tad more expensive than you might expect to pay in this part of the midlands, was really excellent . The Queens also has aside from typical Chinese beers etc a reasonable wine list which we selected a decent bottle of Malbec from .
On top of this the staff were really helpful and friendly and we had nice chats with both the manager and the owner .
All in all I would say that if you are in Wolverhampton for business or leisure then please try the Queens as it’s very nice way to while away an evening and the food is definitely a cut above . We would certainly recommend it to others and we will return on future visits to Wolverhampton.

Full credit to the owners, they have created a pub with a lovely convivial atmosphere and absolutely no pretence. However, I have to say that the beer quality is somewhat disappointing, and I speak as a CAMRA member. Whilst by no means a regular, I have visited the pub on many occasions and am yet to sample a truly good beer. The beers I've had have unfortunately been of the bland, 'fair-to-middling' variety. Sorry, but on beer choice alone I'm struggling to see how CAMRA members can deem it worthy of pub of the year. Please keep up the good work though and strive to improve that beer quality!

Recently had a meal at The Fiume Italian restaurant for my niece's birthday, the staff were of a very high quality so was the food, lots to choose from with both drinks and dishes. We were upstairs and my only slight gripe is that you do seem to be a bit cramped (due to popularity no doubt). You have to book early to save disappointment so again goes to the popularity of the venue.
