Where to eat Wine Bar food in Rome: The Best Restaurants and Bars

July 26, 2020 Tonie Szymanski

Reviews on Wine Bar food in Rome, Lazio, Italy. From ancient monuments and frocked priests to fantastic shops and avant-garde architecture, Rome's neighborhoods are as diverse as its multimillennial history. The Eternal City is a mosaic of pocketed areas vying to show off their must-sees - whether it’s haute couture or street art, fabulous food or medieval architecture. What makes Rome unique is not just the "open-air museum" lifestyle but the life itself. Every day, in every corner and every piazza, Rome smoothly juggles tradition, history, and 21st century change.

A small, comfortable room welcomes you when classic music plays as a prefect soundtrack. Don't expect a restaurant. .. there are a few tables and ..it is simply perfect.Special dishes from several Italian regions, we choose Crostone al lardo, caponata (from Sicilia), traditional pasta with pesto (from Liguria) and small balls with goat cheese and eggs. Every single flavour was fantastic! !Wine list (with good prices) deserve at least 15 minutes reading. . Very very good! I'd give them 5 points if they would improve second dishes. .

I had dinner at Masto twice within a few nights. I liked the atmosphere and the food was so good! The wait staff was very friendly, too. My first night, I had a chocolate souflé for dessert. It looked and tasted amazing. I would make a point of eating at Masto again the next time I visit Rome.

We went here the last night of our initial stay in Rome, before heading north for a week. Their meat and cheese plate was so good, we went back when we returned to Rome before flying home. Yes, there are 10,000 restaurants in Rome, and we went here twice in our four nights there. And the last night, we had to walk 35 minutes to get there. Located in the charming Trastevere neighborhood, it's a cute little wine bar with couch seating and tables that look out onto the street. The Essenza Board for Two is amazing: a large selection of meat, cheeses, melon, and more; plus a small bar of chocolate to sprinkle over one of the cheese dishes (complete with a mini-grater so you don't eat the chocolate whole). The last night we had lasagna, since we were still slightly hungry after our board. Delicious, and beautifully presented. And, since it's a wine bar, the wine selection (get the Primitivo!) is excellent as well.

We just comeback from Rome and I couldn't wait to write this review.LOVE LOVE LOVE this little spot. All they have is 100 flavor choices of tiramisu, cheese board, salami board, different toppings crustinies and great Italian wine selection. We walked in nobody was there and were seated at the little table. Francesco recommended red wine that was so good I later bought two bottles to bring home to California. It was Marco Carpineti Tufaliccio.Went so well with everything.Perfecto ! The crustinies were fresh and delicious and three kinds of salami (or was it four?) were best I ever tried. I bought all of them full size the end of dinner to bring back home. YUM ! And what about those huge green olives, they were absolutely delicious ! SO GOOD ! I wanted to get some to take home with me too, but forgot at the end :( Classic Tiramisu was a nice touch to finish this great experience. Francesco, thank you for your help with salami and wine selection. If I am in Rome again, I will make Mr.100 Tiramisu my first stop ;-pP.S. Having my first breakfast at home all jet legged at 5am and guess what I had ? Truffle salami from Mr.100 Tiramisu ...lol Sooooo good

Lamian Bar

After trying the Dumpling Bar we’ve decided to go for a Lamian dinner since the two places have the same owner and we’ve liked it very much. The food was great and the service very good. The only reason I’m giving it four points out of five is the decor of the restaurant. It’s a little bit confusing and so the overall atmosphere of the place is lacking something. Other than that we will be back.

We found this place after a few drinks in Trastevere and I’m glad we did! Best wine bar we visited during our trip. We shared a meet and cheese platter and a bottle of wine. All of the meats and cheeses were explained to us and every one was perfect. At the end of our meal we asked for a limoncello only to find they had none in so one of the guys ran across the road to a nearby bar and brought two ice cold limoncellos for us for free! Very welcoming staff and amazing food.

The food here was delicious - it’s quite a limited menu, but the food is still really good! There’s a lovely relaxed vibe here, and the ambience/atmosphere of the restaurant makes it an enjoyable evening! Also, I haven’t been anywhere yet with such a wide section of red wines - so if you enjoy a glass of red I would definitely recommend. The waiting staff were also attentive and helpful when we had questions about the menu. Would definitely recommend if you are visiting Rome!
