A good stop for lunch or dinner but doesn’t make the must do list. The garden entrance is beautiful and the service good. The pollo a la plancha was delicious and the pasta interesting. It’s good but not as unique as other spots in the city.

Malanga del tropico

Upon arrival, the place looks great....nice tropical decor throughout, just like the photos I saw on Instagram. But it seemed to me they should be playing tropical island music, not pop music, to blend with the tropical atmosphere. As for the food, it looks great on the plates, but not always good tasting. For our entrada, we ordered a cold Carpaccio del Mar y Tierra, which was actually very tasty and look great displayed on the large plate we shared. For our entree we both ordered the Langostino de la Jungla. It was a lobster tail - very tough to chew- accompanied by a vegetable medley nicely cooked al dente, and some mashed potato balls that had been deep fried...an interesting and nice touch. But the lobster was dry, tough and almost tasteless. And we also ordered Arroz Tropical de Puerco, Now it was a large portion of rice, pork and other ingredients, and while it tasted good......I suffered all night long from a very upset stomach with for sure the taste of the fried rice dish in my mouth. So something in it was either bad or otherwise sure did not agree with my system - not a problem I usually have.We also had a pitcher of Sangria which tasted very good, but never before have I had to pick stems of fruits from my mouth after drinking sangria. That was most unwelcome. As for the service, after we ordered, it took like 30 minutes to get our entrada, but then the entrees came just 8 minutes later when we were only halfway through eating the entrada, Not good timing by the kitchen or the waiter. So all in all, we will not be returning to eat here.

It's a long couple of blocks from the nearest Metro stop, but this experience is worth it. Imagine a food court with maybe 40 different choices ranging from the simple to fine dining, filled with people and music, all at reasonable prices. The noise and the crowds downstairs were almost overwhelming, but we found a seat upstairs at the Italian restaurant and had a great meal.Hello! We love that you had a good experience Welcome always!
